    Wiki Model S Delivery Update

I was just about to post this. It's on both sides. Reminds me of the vents on the Toyota Camry, although those are intentional and I'm not sure these are intentional 😬

    Wiki Model S Delivery Update

Raises hand 🙋‍♂️. The other factor was I didn't need another car. This was purely a want vs. a need. Happy with my current car roster. Also had a 2017 S100D for ~3 years.

    Wiki Model S Delivery Update

My story: Reservation made in March 2021 (RN1143) Matched to an MF VIN end of November Push it back to January because I saw NF VINs getting delivered - resale matters, not debating this Matched to an NF VIN last week, no new headlights/tail lights Knew lights were coming and would kill me not...

2021+ Model S LR Delivery Tracking

Advice needed: Received a VIN last night (MF454) and I would prefer to wait (already been waiting since March) until I can secure a 2022 (NF VIN). What should I tell the SA when I call them today?

Washington State: Model S Plaid/LR waiting room

Correct. I was told years ago from my detailer in the bay (OC Detail) after I picked up my 2017 MS from the Fremont factory that Tesla did their crash tests with the license plate bracket on the front bumper and therefore they have to deliver all cars with the front license plate bracket. Of...

2021+ Model S LR Delivery Tracking

Has anyone (LR or Plaid) been assigned or taken delivery of a 2022 VIN?

Washington State: Model S Plaid/LR waiting room

I have no faith in the EDD being accurate at this point. I've seen it move so many times for me I just check once a week now.

Mine was end of Sept for 4 weeks then was pushed to Oct 19-Nov 8 where it still remains (see sig for details)

Washington State: Model S Plaid/LR waiting room

Last week I was EDD of Sept 25-30th (within that range for the entire month of Sept). Then on the 25th moved to Oct 5-25. Today it changed again, Oct 19 - Nov 8. Only positive is that I'm likely guaranteed a 2022 VIN at this point and the new tail light redesign (this last part I just made up...

Washington State: Model S Plaid/LR waiting room

Yesterday it was Sept 28-30, no VIN. This morning it changed to Oct 5-25. I'm actually happy there is a high likelihood to get a 2022 designation. I'm not in a hurry.

Washington State: Model S Plaid/LR waiting room

Same boat as you (EDD 28-30, no VIN). I don't have faith we will get them by end of month. On the bright side, October I believe is when they switch over to the 2022' model year. VIN would have an "N" instead of an "M". I wouldn't mind waiting another month for a 2022.

Why is the glass roof so dark tinted on the refresh?

Do we know for fact it's either A. darker than previous Model S years, or B. darker than model 3/Y? Or does it just appear darker (opinion)? Genuinely curious if it's fact or speculation

2021+ Model S and Model S Plaid Refresh Issues Thread

I lived in SF with my 2017 Model S for 3 years and had the back small window broken 2 times when my privacy trunk shelf was installed (and down). Both times I didn't have anything in the trunk. This happened 2 times the first year and never again after I stopped keeping the privacy shelf in the...

Is there a 12V accessories plug near front to plug in Radar Detector. (Like on Model 3) ?

Does it not have the grill anymore? Or it does have the grill, just no left over connector like previous years?

Is there a 12V accessories plug near front to plug in Radar Detector. (Like on Model 3) ?

I don't have the 2021 yet, but in my 2017 there is a plug available for power (above rear view mirror) which is a super easy DIY job (< 30 mins). I did it for my BlackVue dashcam. Here is a great thread on it - Dash Cam Install for Model S Detailed install - BlackVue DR750S-2CH installation in...

2021+ Model S LR Delivery Tracking

I would say if they catch it AND can make the necessary changes before it leave the 48, you have a good chance. If it's already on its way to the islands, it is probably too cost prohibitive to re-route it back. If that is the case, they may try to match you with another car sooner. In the end...

Cleaning headliner with out moisture stains?

You could try distilled water only and see if it will re-soak the area and get rid of the residue ring. The option I usually employ which won't work (well it could but would be a ton of work) is to soak the entire liner with a spray bottle of water so the edges bleed off to the side and aren't...

Just a thought on paint protection

I hear you on all the other points but based on this point right here, and the fact that the front bumper is very flat, I would highly recommend at least spending the ~$500 for the front bumper if nothing else. And if you don't have the mud flaps, a section of PPF in the rear bottom doors as I...

    PPF in Washington

I had my entire car wrapped (Xpel Stealth) at Imperial Auto Salon in Kirkland/Totem Lake area. Would recommend! They do a ton of Tesla's. You're looking at ~2k for full front, ~7k for full car.

Glad someone finally called this out. In the flyover video I was gasping every second. I even saw a black one with bird poop all over the car, baking in the sun. Soon to be first time parent - Help with car seat!

Order a car seat cover. I had the Nuna Pipa in the back of our S (white interior) for ~6 months. I latched it into the hooks. NOT an easy task to do btw. They are really buried in there. I left the base in there permanently and when I sold the car, the seat was fine. One thing I was surprised...

Air Suspension Appears on EPC in China

LMK how it goes. I too am considering ditching the Y because of the suspension. I had a pre-order for the Redwood Motorsports since Sept. but recently cancelled it because it was taking so long. If they do end up working out I may consider them again.

Anyone thinking of switching to a refresh Model X?

I've been thinking about making the switch lately MYP --> MX. I had a 2017 Model S for 3 years prior and it was in a different class of quality. Model S was more akin to Mercedes E class while the MYP is closer to a Honda Civic. Two main things irritate me about my MYP - white paint mismatch...

Got my PPF done. Was it done right?

I've seen a ton of PPF installs on various cars including a few of mine. There are two routes an installer can take - pre-cut or custom. Pre-cut will use templates provided by the manufacture (eg. XPel) that match the cars panels. Your installer used this method. When using this method, good...

    Model 3 Uberturbine swap?

Good info on sizing halfway down page 1 - New Uberturbine wheels coming to Model 3 Current 21" (front) are 9.5" wide w/ +45mm offset New Model Y 20" are 9.0" wide w/ +34mm offset I am not super knowledgable about offsets and wheel widths but they should fit fine. XPEL Stealth PPF & Pearl White Question

This!!! I did a full Xpel Stealth wrap on my pearl white and it amplifies the blotchy doors and mismatched bumpers. Especially when you are in the shade. Can you tell the difference with Stealth on pearl white? Yes, but only in the sun. I personally regret going with Stealth and TBH, going...

    20” Induction Wheels

There are only two logical reasons for this. 1. You've been hitting curbs most of your life, but Tesla wheels/tires don't offer the same protection so you notice it. This is not Tesla's fault but driver error as hitting curbs is not a requirement for driving. 2. You've never hit curbs before...

Model Y tint using XPEL. Recommendations?

I have XR Prime Plus 35% on my front two windows, nothing else added to other windows. My observations on the tint itself is that it's a good match, color wise. Percentage wise, 35% is lighter, but TBH even if you went 20% or 5% there will be times when the light comes through the windshield...
