Experienced this error today for the first time on my 2017 MS. Will try some re-boots, and the suggested app fix, but IMO it sounds like service center time again.

Same thing happened to me in mid-March, same parts as @john pane had replaced. Service center repair is necessary. Mine was still under warranty so no charge.

On my MS, it seems to be related to how long (deeply?) the car is asleep. If I am in and out several times a day, everything works ok (mostly), but overnight or a day or two at home, when I wake the car the mirrors unfold.

Something ironic about this. Before I got my Model S (2017), this was my most used gas station. I live a few minutes away and pass by it often.

There are lots of threads and posts about eMMC failure, and little or anything you can do to slow it down or stop it except put in a new part. Contact the service center and see about having them replace the failing chip with a new Tegra daughter board.

I've used the tire inflator that Tesla sells, and it worked fine; it also comes with a can of goop to seal a puncture. It came with my Tesla (as required by Maryland state law). You may wish to consider getting and keeping one of these in your car.
