    Comprehensive USB Bug List

Album art is still not updating on the Model S (MCU2) dash display. I guess Musk is too busy burning Twitter to the ground to care about paying Tesla customers.

Yes. I first noticed this in 2021.40, which I received in November, 2021. The text on the dash is for the currently playing album, but the artwork is not.

    Comprehensive USB Bug List

My Model S finally pulled down 2021.40. The Artwork is back for the mai0n display and dash display, but the dash display only updates once. It continues to show the image for the first song played. The dash image only changes if I reboot the MCU (but then it gets stuckl again). There's also...

    Comprehensive USB Bug List

Lack of resume is irritating, but my biggest complaint is the removal of album art support. I spent hundreds of hours collecting high quality artwork, and in some cases scanning album covers myself. I have a Model S, so whenever I play USB music, I see a white square with a musical note in it...

Instead, we get this: Elon Musk says he wants the new Tesla Roadster to be able to hover 'without, you know, killing people' FFS.

MCU1 has less RAM that MCU2 and later. What you're seeing are side effects of memory management (the MCU trying to juggle the data that needs to be kept in memory). Reducing the number of songs may help.

    Comprehensive USB Bug List

I spent hundreds of hours downloading or scanning album art, cleaning it up with Photoshop, and embedding it into the tens of thousands of music tracks that I own. Tesla negated all of that work with a bad update, and doesn't seem concerned with correcting their mistake. I am not happy.

    Comprehensive USB Bug List

Sorry to see you go. This hits the nail on the head. For a loyal customer who deals with the buggy entertainment system on a daily basis, every Easter Egg is just another slap in the face. This isn't just about the music player; it's cumulative, and comes from having a multitude of bad...

    Comprehensive USB Bug List

While on the surface that may appear to be a good business decision, it is short sighted. If a feature is broken, either fix it, or remove the feature. Leaving things broken for individual customers to struggle with day after day will just piss people off, and angry customers are not good for...

I'm using 1 1TB SSD drive with 4500 VBR MP3 tracks. Resume has been flawless for the past few months. I have 2018.32.4 firmware.

    Comprehensive USB Bug List

As you add more tracks, "loading" times go up. The MP tries to scan the whole USB drive and load all of the metadata into RAM. At some point, this memory consumption starts to compete with other functions, such as navigation. So the more tracks you have, the flakier things get. I originally...

    Comprehensive USB Bug List

I think you've hit the nail on the head. The USB issues are just too mundane to be of any interest to Musk. He's clearly focused on more exciting challenges.

Elon tweeted that the streaming service was a joke. (Much like the USB player).

    Comprehensive USB Bug List

IMHO, Tesla should either fix the USB player, or delete the feature. I feel that I was mislead into thinking I would be able to play my music on USB, and so far that just has not been the case. I even paid for the upgraded sound system, which I never would have done if I had know I was going...

I brought up the list of all songs, hit play on an arbitrary song, then went to the shuffle button and made sure it was turned it on.

I don't remember if this was the case the first time I had the source switch happen, but I know for a fact that the second time it happened right after I loaded a computer into my car on the passenger side.

    Comprehensive USB Bug List

It happened again. It turns out that the player switched sources - to my phone. I did not realize that I had any music stored on my phone, but when I looked, I found two albums. One I had purchased years ago on iTunes, and the other was the "free" U2 download from a while back. For some...

14.23 USB, MP3 VBR V0, embedded 600x600 JPG artwork. It happened when I turned the car on in the morning. I always keep 38,000+ tracks on shuffle play on a 1TB USB SSD. In addition to alternating between, two tracks, the player also downloaded random artwork instead of using the embedded...

    Comprehensive USB Bug List

Yesterday, the MS got stuck in a loop playing the same two songs over and over. That was new.

    Comprehensive USB Bug List

I believe that is correct. The starting song does not affect the seed.
  25. A

    Comprehensive USB Bug List

I don't think it's that complex a bug. My car usually picks up playing the last song that it was playing prior to the reload, and then it starts a "new" sequence. That new sequence is usually one of just a few different sequences, depending on the seed. Same seed, same sequence. That...

The reason shuffle doesn't work is that Tesla is using a pseudorandom number generator (PNRG): Pseudorandom number generator - Wikipedia Given the same seed value, the car will play the exact same sequence of tracks. There are three problems with the Tesla implementation: When the...

    Comprehensive USB Bug List

Well, yesterday the MS pulled a new trick. Normally, I have USB "Loading" all during my morning trip to work, and I have music on the trip home. Yesterday, it was "Loading" on the way to work, and "Loading" again on the way home. No music at all yesterday. Bu the good news is, Elon has...

    Comprehensive USB Bug List

Ok, according to the Remote S App, 17.4.14 has just been installed on my MS. Actually, if I went into work an hour later, it would probably be finished and I would never (or rarely) see reloads. I agree. My guess is that there's a memory garbage collection job running. Base on the 49%...

    Comprehensive USB Bug List

Data points: I have had the MS since September 2016. I have been following this thread since shortly after I got the car. I have kept Energy Savings turned off since day one. I have 38,000 MP3 tracks on a 1TB SSD, all painstakingly tagged with dBpoweramp (Windows), and all with embedded 600x600...

    Comprehensive USB Bug List

Every morning when I get in the MS to drive to work, I see "Loading xx%". It does not complete before I get to work (38,000 tracks on a 1TB USB SSD). When I get in the car to go home from work, I have music to listen to on the way home. So, for me, 50% functional is a pretty good description. :)
