    AP2 / 8.1 : "Cruise Not Available"-AP intermittently not working in 17.11.{3,10} versions

It sounds like it is still calibrating... Mine oddly worked right away.... Then i had about an hour randomly the next day it didn't work... Then it's worked great every day since. I would take it in if you have driven over a week and lots of freeway miles and it still is not working.

FIRMWARE UPDATE! AP2 Local road driving...and holy crap

I agree, overall 17.9.3 is an improvement. Hard to say how much, but it is getting better.
  13. S

    17.9.3

So Tell me about it! But on the upside, just about every two weeks we get at least a speed bump in AP, and a new feature. So they are improving, and it does seem quickly. Every two weeks is pretty impressive, as long as it stays consistent, I think we have good times ahead

    17.9.3

Got new firmware today. Autosteer now 55 mph on freeway more "granular control of fan speed" for ac I am hoping this release has better trained autosteer algorithm/logic.... I have not had time to really test it, I spent about 15 minutes driving with the new firmware. My initial thought is it...

AP 2.0 - Lets log our experiences

I could be wrong, but I do not think our cars are actively learning. Imagine the variance in issues they would have with different people using autopilot. What I believe is used is fleet learning. When AP is not engaged, the system is in shadow mode. It compares what AP "would have done" vs...

AP 2.0 - Lets log our experiences

I have been testing out the latest version of AP2, the sun has finally come out in California, and I have noticed on roads where there is heavy shadow from trees, etc, Autopilot really freaks out. The car bounced right and left, and I saw that reflected on the screen, the lines for the road went...

    Tire Blow Out!

Crazy, I also had a flat on my brand new 60D, less than a 1000 miles on it. I'm also in OC, the process was good overall. I had the replacement tire on for the weekend and two business days. Had to call the service center, I was expecting a call. They scheduled me a few days out, went into the...

FIRMWARE UPDATE! AP2 Local road driving...and holy crap

So I would just like to clarify something. The reason I made the FSD comparison is based on how the car is struggling with very basic driving tasks, I don't see how by any stretch the car can be ready for FSD by 2017. Maybe end of 2018. I should have said I regret buying FSD because I don't...

I posted the same issue on tesla forums this morning, yes, if that is what you mean.

FIRMWARE UPDATE! AP2 Local road driving...and holy crap

Agreed, i would have a hard time believing it doesn't. Just how sensitive it is, i wonder... For example, they ran into an issue with the camera pitch on our AP2 cars when AP2 started rolling out en masse, and they had to put in a patch to alert that it was out of range...
  22. S

FIRMWARE UPDATE! AP2 Local road driving...and holy crap

yes, it took a day for mine to activate. My thought would be, what if something happened after the calibration, if the camera pitch changed, something caused the cameras to go out of alignment, will AP know and check for that, I hope it would but at this point who knows.

FIRMWARE UPDATE! AP2 Local road driving...and holy crap

Could be. Worth a shot, I will make a call into the service center. They need logic in the code that detects that if that is the case. The way it behaves seems like code flaw, it does the same thing on the freeway in the right most lane. Sometimes it will take the freeway exit (when it should...

FIRMWARE UPDATE! AP2 Local road driving...and holy crap

First, let me start of by saying, I work in technology. As a Cloud Architect, I am heavily involved and very familiar with rapid software development, software development practices etc. I only say this to frame that I would say I am more tolerant than most with this AP2 process. One of the...

AP 2.0 - Lets log our experiences

Awesome, thanks for the update. I have had the same exact experiences with autosteer, and on the .28 firmware. I stopped using it in the slow lane, because it seems to always want to exit the off ramp. So due to the speed limits on autosteer, you can really only use it in stop and go traffic. I...

Anyone get the new ap2 rev

Elon tweeted Sunday the 1000 beta cars would get a new rev Monday. I was one of those 1000 but didn't get the new rev. Anyone get it?

AP 2.0 - Lets log our experiences

I couldn't notice it, one thing I did notice is the car animation bounces back and forth just a little about every second, so the screen there is not totally accurate

Yes I suspect this will come in the next update. This is just the very start.

AP 2.0 - Lets log our experiences

Scenario 1. Autopilot, heavy stop and go traffic (5 freeway, rush hour). Few decent curves along the way. BIG RIG Truck on my right. Car to my left. -Like 1. Overall, everything was very good. I was nervous about this "Truck Lust" i keep hearing about, but in this scenario i did not...

AP 2.0 - Lets log our experiences

Since AP 2.0 is brand new with new code base, i think it would be cool to start a thread outlining our experiences with it as of now and as time goes on. We can note the good and the bad and see how things are changed, added or fixed over time. Maybe this can act as a information source for new...

    Bad Situation turned, good..i guess?

Interesting, any downsides you can think of between the 70 MCU/Screen and the 60 MCU screen?

    Bad Situation turned, good..i guess?

Does the screen and the computer running the screen (i know it is separate from the car computer) come as one unit? they have to replace both at once?
  35. S

    Bad Situation turned, good..i guess?

Yep, it was offered for a short time. So they limit the battery to 70kWh and the 75 is at full capacity of 75Kwh which gets your 259 EPA

    Bad Situation turned, good..i guess?

Thought i would share this funny story. I picked up my model S 60 on December 15th 2016. Two days later "Screen Unresponsive" error message. Seems many people have had that issue, just hold the scroll wheels down to reboot. Did that, about 1230495 million times. Didn't work. This was on a...

After 8.0 Upgrade - 'Autopilot Features Currently Unavailable -- Manual Driving Required While...

I concur... I came home after driving 15-20 miles with the same "calibrating" message. Read it takes 4-5 hours of driving. Went out the next day expecting to do a lot of driving, but it worked right away. I presume it is because i came home and parked it on wifi thus it completed calibration.

Posted this in another thread but applicable here too. I have model s though. So something interesting: I had the update installed New Year's Eve. Took it out for a test drive New Year's Day, couldn't use anything, "camera calibrating" message. I drove max 20 miles New Year's Day. I drove it...

Initial 1000 HW2 cars getting AP software 12/31/16

Got the update last night around 10pm. Already had been drinking so couldn't test it out until today. Was super excited but now just more dispointment. "Camera calibrating" issue. I drove about 20 miles, no changes. I wonder if this calibration is specific to my cars camera or if that means...
