    Tesla Discontinuing Corded Mobile Connector?

Bought my corded mobile connector in July 2022 as well, I've been having the same problem with it overheating at the plug. Looks like it was a bad batch, unless it's a common issue with all the corded mobile connectors. After a few minutes it throttles the current to around 37A. Other chargers...

Refreshed Tesla Model X issues: frozen camera, brake fault, high voltage system fault, etc.

Do we know this for a fact? Has this happened to you AFTER Tesla implemented the fix, or are you just assuming their fix is limited to the cases involving supercharging?

Refreshed Tesla Model X issues: frozen camera, brake fault, high voltage system fault, etc.

Not sure how effective this fix will be. I've seen the issue happen after having the car sit in the sun for a few hours. So it's not just supercharging or pre-conditioning, this happens whenever the car gets hot (and it's not even summer yet). Very skeptical that this can be completely fixed...

Wiki Model X Refresh Issues Thread

I understand, just trying to figure out whether it's a defect affecting a batch of cars as @StrayTexel suggested, or if it's a design "feature" that's in all cars.

Wiki Model X Refresh Issues Thread

I guess one way to know if it's a defect or a design decision is if there are ANY cars that don't have this. Anyone NOT seeing the grey dots in the 2022 Model X?

Wiki Model X Refresh Issues Thread

Yes, they are in the same location (all around the edge of the display) no matter what's on the screen. More obvious with lighter colors. They may be part of the display as @BamaATL mentioned.

Wiki Model X Refresh Issues Thread

These are the dots I was referring to (only marked a few of them with arrows since there's so many). Maybe they are part of the UI, but you can see them no matter what's on the screen (Autopilot visualization, Alerts...). Looking closely, they appear to be in a layer physically behind the screen.

Wiki Model X Refresh Issues Thread

Haven't seen this mentioned anywhere, but does anyone have grey dots near the edges of the instrument cluster. They appear as if they are in a layer behind the screen (maybe backlight?) and are visible behind all content within about one inch of the edge of the screen. Here's a close up of...

Refreshed 2021+ Model X and Model X Plaid waiting room

Exactly! Activating the backup camera is what triggers the warnings for me. Again this doesn't happen every day, but mostly on days where I drive a lot/use the superchargers. So it must be the overheating issue we've heard about.

Refreshed 2021+ Model X and Model X Plaid waiting room

I just wanted to chime in and let you know that you are not alone, my month old Model X has been doing the same exact thing since delivery day. It's very random and I can go days without it happening but then it starts again out of the blue. Hoping it's not a hardware issue.

Refreshed 2021+ Model X and Model X Plaid waiting room

Just got an update to my EDD. Model X Plaid order placed in October 2021 (RN1157XXXXX). EDD used to be May 2022, but changed to February 27 - March 20 over the weekend. Fingers crossed that it won't be built during the end-of-quarter madness.

Pic of your 2021 Refresh Model X.......RIGHT NOW! [model X refresh pictures thread]

Congrats on the new X! Don't you find that the yoke is in the way of the lower left side of the center screen? Does it bother you when trying to tap that area of the screen at all? It seems that way in most pictures I've seen but I'm not sure if it's an issue in reality.

Distance shown in miles in the App

Same issue, changing regional settings is not an option for me, since we have a Tesla in the U.S. (Miles) and another one in Europe (Km). Currently both cars are showing distances within the App in Miles. This should really be reverted back to use the unit selected within the car instead of...

    Spotify playlists

The plus sign adds songs to your library so they would show up under "Songs". I don't think you can create new playlists from the car, but you can add existing public playlists to your library.

Model X Car Alarm Going Off

In my case it was a mosquito! I went to check the car after the alarm went off in the garage, as soon as I opened the door I saw a mosquito flying around the intrusion sensor :D

Side mirrors no longer unfolding on unlock after 2018.21.9

I definitely get how this can be a welcome feature for many. I personally would rather have them unfold on unlock because I think it serves as a good visual indicator that the car is unlocked. If this is indeed by design, I just wish Tesla would document these changes in the release notes, so...

Side mirrors no longer unfolding on unlock after 2018.21.9

Immediately after installing 2018.21.9 I noticed that the side mirrors no longer unfold automatically when the car is unlocked either via key fob or passive entry. Now they only unfold after the car is started by pressing the brake pedal. I did a few tests and noticed that they would still...

2018.12 has ruined the audio system

Just got the 2018.18.2 update, and the EQ settings are now back to a max of +/-12. I personally find the sound quality now to be much better than prior versions that had limited these settings to +/-8. I have Premium Audio and my EQ settings are mostly flat so it's not like I need to crank...

    MCU2 - Retrofit

I think every time Tesla introduces a hardware change/upgrade emotions run high, especially for people who recently took delivery and missed the upgrade by a few days/weeks. It is especially painful in this case because the slow MCU had been a source of constant grief among owners given how old...

    Poll: FWD on Model Y

FWDs are amazing when you have to strap kids into their car seats for everything else they are a huge hassle. These are a few examples of what I have to deal with on a regular basis: - Whenever you park, you have to make sure there are no overhead tree branches, pipes or beams before opening...

FWD paint vs. rest of the car

Just an update on this issue. Tesla has offered to take the car to a certified body shop to have them repaint the quarter panel, however they said that this would only work if they blend the paint with adjacent panels (FWD). I was really hoping to avoid painting other panels, but it looks like...

    Display pulses while in Park

Seen that a few times in the last month or so and thought maybe the screen was defective or had a bad connection. But the more I think about it the more I think it's just the automatic brightness going up or down abruptly. Thought about disabling auto-brightness to see if the issue stops, but...

    2017.50.3.f3425a1 is out!

I've been testing the AP2 Auto wipers today (without rain :D) and found two issues: 1) During the day, wipers always activate as soon as I enter a tunnel, they wipe once or twice then stop until the next tunnel. 2) When wipers are set to automatic they don't completely retract (hide under the...

Tesla Owner API Tutorial (All you need is your browser)

I'm not very familiar with Apiary, but I would imagine that whoever published the API on Apiary has to add the vehicle_config resource. Another option would be to use Apiary to generate the cURL command line for vehicle_state then manually replace vehicle_state with vehicle_config and run it...

How many here actually use the Summon feature on an "almost" daily basis?

Only used summon a few times to show it to family/friends. A couple of times I really wanted to use it to get in/out of tight spots but it didn't work because here in Europe you can't use the fob and must use the App instead. As you can imagine, the App doesn't work in most underground garages...

    Any news on 100D uncorking?

perf_config can still be accessed via the REST API for cars running version 2017.46 and above. It is now under "data_request/vehicle_config" instead of "data_request/vehicle_state" for previous versions.

    Exposed wires under wheel well

Thanks for the valuable info! Would have never thought those were hoses. I still think they look out of place, but if that's by design then so be it.

Why does vehicle turn off with passenger & key fob in car?

I find this behavior very annoying to say the least. The car tends to shut-down as soon as the driver steps out of the car, would love for it to stay on if there are any passengers on board or delay shut-down until driver walks away from the car (when there are no passengers) If I step out for...

Car no longer waking up from the app/API

Same problem in Spain. When "Always Connected" is Off car can no longer be accessed via the App. App shows "Waking up" but it never connects. This issue wasn't there last month, as back then, the car would wake up in a few seconds even when "Always Connected" was set to Off. Now the only way...

    FW Door Issue Sanity Check

My April 2017 build also has the same issue and at this point I'm pretty confident it's related to heat/sun as I've never noticed the problem in cool/cloudy days. In my case, this only affects the passenger-side FWD, driver-side is working perfectly. I plan to take it to the SC at some point for...

FWD paint vs. rest of the car

Went back and checked some of the older pictures. Looks worse than I thought. Problem is, getting this fixed may end-up looking even worse or introduce new problems, so I'm tempted to just leave it as is.

FWD paint vs. rest of the car

Anyone knows if the falcon wing doors are painted at the same time as the rest of the car body. Under some lighting conditions, the white on my driver side rear quarter panel appears to be slightly different from the FWD. I know that the pearl white is unforgiving and can look totally different...

    Twisted monopost seat belt

The seat belt in my driver-side monopost seat is twisted, I pulled the entire belt but couldn't get rid of the twist. Not sure if this is something I can fix myself or if it needs a Service Center visit.

Bare screws in rear wheel liners?

Have the same screws as well (April 2017 Build)...I also thought it was strange having bare screws in the wheel well at first, but then figured the wheel would never touch them under normal conditions.

    Streaks in UV coating

This looks different. In my case the streaks are uniform across the top part of the windshield and disappear about half way between the top and the rear-view mirror. Also, I wasn't able to see them from outside, maybe I need to check under different lighting.
  38. Yoonoo

    Streaks in UV coating

I have some ghosting but I don't find it too bothersome. Not sure how it compares to others since the only other Model X I drove was during the day.

    Streaks in UV coating

Just noticed these streaks in the UV coating near the top of the windshield. Not sure if it's a common occurrence but it looks like another defect to add to the long list of issues with the Model X.

Service now only communicate with text messages

    Automatic liftgate not closing

Looks like my trunk issue is back. Worked fine for a few days but started working sporadically again today. It's been pretty hot in here, so maybe that has something to do with it. I'll pay more attention to the temperature to see if there's any kind of correlation.

    Automatic liftgate not closing

Still trying to understand the ins & outs of our three-week old Model X. During delivery I tested the automatic liftgate and couldn't get it to close. It would go all the way down, then when it was about to latch it would beep 3 times and fully re-open itself. You could still close the trunk...

    Exposed wires under wheel well

Thanks for checking MasterT. Not sure if this is by design or if both our cars suffered from the same oversight at the factory. (My car was built April 2017). Also, it does appear less of your wires are exposed since they were routed behind that black liner (carpet?). If that's how they are...

    Exposed wires under wheel well

Thanks everyone! Looks like I gotta add this to the list of things to be addressed by the service center. Haven't had any work done on the car and haven't installed any accessories. Thanks for the pictures! Looks clean, like one would expect. Are you running on 20" wheels? I have the 22"'s...

    Exposed wires under wheel well

Took delivery of my Model X 100D a week ago and just noticed these wires hanging from under the rear passenger-side wheel well. 4/22 100D Delivery, Thoughts from Model S Veteran

When did your car enter production? My MX 100D entered production on March 31st and is currently in transit to Europe. Quality of Model X deliveries - March 2017
