Left Auto Lane Change Unavailable On Some Roads

I am on 2020.48.12.1 ... still have the "not seeing left lane" issue. For some local roads, 4 lanes or 5 lanes, the car does not show/see the left lane for a mile stretch. I've contacted tesla a few times with video and pictures (with location and timestamps). One advisor basically told me to...

Did you find a reliable local charging place? I am thinking to make a trip there from Boise to Sun Valley with model S.

    AP2 (HW2) to HW3 (no MCU2 upgrade)

I did the same thing, keeping MCU1. However, I've got major slowdown issues, sometimes, the navigation would not load, voice input would not work... I cleared up all the nav. history to make them all "work", the other thing I observed was it takes about 5 minutes to reboot the big display... on...

    New Voice Recognition Fail?

I had the same issue... however, someone mentioned that with the new update, the command input procedure changed to "Touch" the button, let the button go ---> "speak" the command ... that's it! The hold the "button", speak and release... does not always work with nte new release.

V10 update: 2019.32.12.1 [Release notes same as previous V10 versions]

I've noticed the issue ... especially on curvy roads. I talked to one of the local tesla technicians as he was fixing my car, he mentioned that this is not a hardware issue, a future release should fix the "lane hugging" issue

Autopilot does not see left lane

tech center pushed 19.24.4 to my car a few days ago. The problem is 99% fixed. It used to see sold line/lane to the left. with the new software, occasionally the car does not see the left lane. I talked to the local support person and he said that the firmware team is aware the "issue"

Autopilot does not see left lane

I got a response from tesla support yesterday saying their firmware team is aware the issue and the fix should be in the coming release.

Autopilot does not see left lane

Two lanes for the same direction... tesla is pretty good at making sure car doesn't pull on to the other lane.

Autopilot does not see left lane

Don't know the map version, I need to check. The maps were improved a bit this year, it used to have a LOT of wrong speed limit data, now, it's 90% correct on the local speed limit. I doubt the issue is map-related, though.

Autopilot does not see left lane

Got 2019.20.4.2 a week ago. Now, on most of the local/in-town roads, it does not see the left lane while on the right lane. Without seeing the left lane, autopilot won't able to change lanes from right to left. It's okay on highways. Has anyone experienced this type of issues?

    autopilot issue with non-moving objects

With 2018.26 updates recently, my S90D seems to be able to "SEE" stopped car in front while in autopilot/cruise mode. Though not 100% sure this is always true, but, on my regular route, at traffic lights, with new software, the car reacts to stopped car in front much earlier, similar to what a...

360 surround-view of the car (DRIVE PX 2 stitches camera images)

There are other thread about this as well, I wish tesla could invest few engineers working few months to get this done. Since there are cameras around the car, getting a composite 360 view should not be a hard thing to do.

    Supercharger - Boise, ID

I was curious, to see if the "issue" is with my car or not, I stopped by today and tried both 2A and 4A, all charges normally. I got 99KW on 4A after about 5-10min charge from 80 rated miles. Whatever the connectivity issue last week was obviously fixed.

    Supercharger - Boise, ID

ah, didn't hear the 90D battery "issue". It happens that I have 90D. I didn't use supercharge much. I did drive to Seattle and Portland, don't remember I saw 100+kW charging at any supercharging site. I was suspicious about charging speed at the time, now you make me curious!

AP2 auto steer - adjust to speed limit automatically?

Hi Bob, thanks for sharing your finding! I got so fed up with the speed limit, the lack of it, so I called Tesla yesterday. The support person ran a test/diagnostics remotely on my car, he said there few weird errors related to GPS and said that might cause the issue I saw. He forwarded the...

    Supercharger - Boise, ID

I stopped at Boise SC today, tried 3 different stalls, all with 32-36KW charging speed. It should be around 100KW. I called Tesla support and they said Boise SC has some sort of connectivity issues lately. Did anyone use the SC lately?

AP2 auto steer - adjust to speed limit automatically?

Before Tesla switched the map data to tomtom (17.24.28, June 2017), my S90D would adjust speed when local road speed limit change. For example, when auto steer was set to 58 (55mph speed limit +3 relative), when road speed change to 50, auto steer will change the speed to 53 (50mph speed limit...

    Auto pilot problem

I forgot which version of the release that Tesla started using the new map/meta data... it's around June time if I remember correctly. For me, half of the local road I drive, the speed limit was not displayed. It was displayed, and, working with auto-pilot/speed assist fine till the new map...

    AP2 self parking

My AP2 S90D with 17.42.a88c8d5 seems eager to do self-park every time I am approaching traffic light or in a traffic jam. See the picture attached. I've tried to let it engage self-parking at parking lot, I've only succeeded twice, ever since perpendicular parking was available.

    Tesla Navigation is Terrible.

With the new release, Tesla lost 50% local road speed limit. Now, tesla does not know speed limit on well established roads! I go to a gym few times a week, about 15miles away, Tesla Nav would tell me to take a scenic route (highway, local roads,....), the route tesla told me to take is just...

Changes to AP algorithm without software update?

Yesterday, on some local road i drove, the my model S AP2 limit the speed for autosteer to 45. ironically, it does not display the road's speed limit. I set the autosteer speed limit to Road Speed Limit + 3. btw, So, the 45 limit seems really odd. In preview release, 17.17.4, the car while in...

    17.26.76

I tried on several local street, speed limit ranging from 25 - 45, tesla (or TomTom) manages to lose most of them!!! That is very frustrating. Also, on a stretch of major local road, 55mph limit, there the tesla show 55, then, 35 for about 100 yard, then back to 55. This is unbelieveable! Did...

    17.26.76 New Update

The new software must be using new speed limit database. I just discovered that most of my local road's speed limit is gone (for tesla). The car used to display speed limit, when autosteer, it would set the speed to speed limit + X (relative). It worked great. Now, my ap2 s90d displays no...

Newbie Question--Upgrading AP2/AP2 Enhanced Autopilot to Full Self Driving

I paid for FSD ... in the hindsight, I wish I didn't. Based on my experience on how autosteer rolled out in the last 6 months, I think it will take Tesla another two years to get FSD working, assuming the HW2 is good enough. Then again, with Tesla been valued so high, the company might have...

    17.17.4

I was on 17.11.3 till half an hour ago. I started checking why I did not get the latest update this morning, found out that my tesla's wifi does not keep the connection. Don't know what caused this wifi "issue", maybe it's 17.11.3. So, I did the following: Reboot tesla - center display...

Can we now expect a 360° "birdview" parking camera ?

I tends to believe 90% of the "users"/drivers would love to see the bird's eye(360 or 270)view. It's a safety feature. This feature will make tesla look more "sophisticated and hi-tech". The feature only needed in Parking process, and, relatively easy to add/do. I believe a summer intern can...

    Firmware 8.1 - Autopilot HW2

I got 8.1 right before a long trip, close 500 miles. On highway traffic, I am impressed! Few minor issues: Autosteer tends to over shot a bit, you can feel the steering wheel's macro movements. I believe in the coming release, tesla will make the steering more robust; "keep your hands on...

TMS with AP2 Navigation/Map display question

Thanks JPP... that's not it. heading up or north up display does not change things, on the big display. I mostly use the heading up display, btw. The route always highlighted all the way from the origin. Not a big deal, on the large display, though. For the small display, the pigtail is just...

TMS with AP2 Navigation/Map display question

On the large display, the highlight of the current route does not change over the trip duration, it's kinda of annoying. Most GPS would highlight from your current location to your destination and update the map in realtime. The highlighted route on the instrument cluster (small display) does...

Autopilot for HW2 rolling out to all HW2 cars today!

Tesla is testing our patience ... releasing half baked beta software every other week to keep our hope alive; it might take another year of so before auto-steer become usable; another two years to get FSD to work. I hope it's sooner than my prediction, we'll see. When ordering AP2 with FSD...

AP2 update 17.7.2 new Autopark and Local autosteer

Got the update last night. Took the car out to try auto steer on local road. On sub-division local road, auto steer was enabled about 10% of the road. However, it worked horribly. The car tends to drive onto the curb, wobble, etc. It is like a 5 year old learning how to drive. So, worse than...

Autopilot for HW2 rolling out to all HW2 cars today!

My background is control engineering ... my judgement based on what I experienced is that the current code/control algorithm is sophomoric at the best. Tesla has many months or years to make it reliable enough for ppl to use.

Autopilot for HW2 rolling out to all HW2 cars today!

This is exactly my experience! It's hard to find a stretch on highway with traffic lower than 45mph to engage autosteer. I did drove around and find few occasions that I could get autosteer to engage. The first time, it took me to the exit that I was not intend to. The second time, on a...

Can we now expect a 360° "birdview" parking camera ?

Tesla's big asset is its loyal fans, most of them would come defend tesla in an indefensible case. Here we are talking about a simple feature that many would love to see, I hope tesla would listen and take action to support, it's good for the customer, it's good for tesla. The other feature ppl...

Can we now expect a 360° "birdview" parking camera ?

with 8 cameras in HW2 configuration, you'd think stitching a composite birds eye view is not difficult software job... Tesla should hire few summer interns for the project.
