Tesla's Supercharger Team was recently laid off. We discuss what this means for the company on today's TMC Podcast streaming live at 1PM PDT. You can watch on X or on YouTube where you can participate in the live chat.
The Yellowhead Highway (Highway 16) is still part of the Trans-Canada Highway so it would be beneficial if Tesla added between Jasper and Saskatoon to their current plan.
I would love to see the northern route from Jasper to Saskatoon to begin with. They could get by with a supercharger at the Innisfree truck stop, Lloydminster and North Battleford for the east side. And perhaps Hinton and Edson for the west side. Those superchargers would cover 95% of my travel.
Saskatoon does not bad. Maybe Elon needs to add superchargers on highway 16 in addition to highway 1 so Saskatoon is better connected through Edmonton and Lloydminster.
If the supercharger map was perfectly accurate, it would appear to be around the intersection of the Stoney Trail NE and Trans Canada Highway but is there anything around there? I think your Deerfoot City is more likely, but someone would have seen the construction there. Near the Co-op (South...
Shelby would be a better crossroads. Fort Macleod to Shelby is 132 mi and might be a little tight in -25 weather for a s60 (210 RM at 1.1 speed, 400 weight and -25 outside temp on evtripplanner) but not much worse than Sweetgrass to Great Falls (122mi and 207RM).
Looks like a 5000 lb capacity with that lift so you can't have much in the trunk or your P100D would be too heavy for it. Curb weight for P100D is 4941 lbs.
Thanks for the update @Ken J. Unlike you veterans, I spend way too much time each day trying to see when it will finally change from "Construction" to "Open".
I must not have enough excitement in my life as I enjoyed the back and forth discussion between @Canuck and @green1. But I knew you both meant well and that makes all the difference.
Thought about @green1 comments about CrossIron Mills, the ring road and Deerfoot City.
CrossIron Mills would really help for travel from Red Deer to Canmore in January and -25c with a MS60 as well as convenient for Red Deer to Fort MacLeod. Travelling to Deerfoot City then back to the ring...
CarlsJrCalgary indicated on New Carl's Jr Opens Tomorrow • /r/Calgary that the Tesla charger should be up within the week. Sounds more like a HPWC.
I agree with @green1 that CrossIron Mills or a location along the ring road would be best for Calgary supercharger.
I haven't figured out how to rate your post, but thanks for posting the picture. I am encouraged to slow down and take a good look at it this weekend when we drive through Fort MacLeod.
