if you are worried about range I'd drive the 20 minutes to Lincoln and charge there... how much time does that add on to your trip overall? At least until another charger comes on-line

It's not so much that they are replacing AP1 cars with AP2 cars, it's that as was stated in the announcement, new cars off the line as of the date of the announcement will have hardware for AP 2.0... So it doesn't matter what you order, if it wasn't built after that announcement you get the new...

My Car hasn't been built yet, end of Nov delivery I only have the VIN so far. Tesla already sent the email to pay another $2,500 to upgrade my X to EAP.

I'm in the same boat, end of Nov delivery with AP2.0 hardware and I had already paid for AP 1.0, not planning to upgrade yet to see what rolls out and how the reviews are between people who have AP2.0 hardware and paid for AP1 and those who have EAP. Worse case I upgrade later... no rush...
