I don't think so: 1) Nvidia's latest GPU which isn't sold yet has a system level architecture that's much closer to the Dojo architecture than before, so Tesla seems to be on the right path from that perspective. 2) Dojo is still on silicon version 1, as far as we know. The next iteration...

But isn't it detrimental to the company directly? Instead of a influx of cash due to the option exercise, they now have to issue shares for free? And that won't cause any tax consequences/cash-outflow at all? A company neutral exchange would be to issue those 29m shares as options with same...

Well, tomorrow is between now and March 2024 as well... ;) But seriously, the currently estimated production speed of around 10 cars/day with about 100 days to go lines up pretty nicely with a worst-case scenario of steady state production rate. They are filling the pipeline and if the rates...

Did they cut themselves by combining all models into one group to qualify for the materials requirements this year, and now all are falling out of the credits although the LR alone would qualify? Although, this is Model 3 only, maybe they're using external 2170s (LG?) as well?

The last ER-call declared continuing significant production improvements. And clarified that the past production numbers were based on a single production line, with a second line now starting as well. With 2 more being prepared. So they are now scaling both on yield and parallel ramp-ups.

Hm, using up all that internal luggage space for the rear opening. With all that engineering effort wouldn't it have been easier to create a rear hatch that opens up left, right and up both hinged and as a sliding door...?

Shouldn't superconductors be able to improve drivetrain efficiency? Less waste heat, which on top of the direct improvement allows for more compact and lighter packaging and lowers the waste heat rejection requirement allowing for smaller radiators.

Sorry, but sharing your IP (to improve your own ecosystem) doesn't equalize breaking the terms of use for other IP you're using yourself. It's a fact that Tesla (like many other companies) is breaking the terms of open source software. Doesn't really matter who's pointing it out... AFAIK they...

Yes, they ran out of compute on one node. But we (apart from @Discoducky, maybe) don't know how much effort they have already put into optimizing the FSD code. What I know is: - Unoptimized code has massive potential for optimization. - Once you have the working product. A much easier approach...

Even if the CT isn't the perfect exoskeleton. Just look at the leaked pictures. That's about 10 pieces of metal to create the basic structure of this giant vehicle. It then gets wrapped in a handful of large steel sheets to complete the exterior shell. If I remember correctly the Model 3 rear...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Only under the premise that an exoskeleton must have zero internal structure and CT therefore is a classic unibody and that, contrary to Teslas claims, adding 4mm of steel sheets to the exterior has zero effect on the structural strength of the car. So..... unlikely? ;)

First, by the end of the year, the top performing computer should break 2 EF. Second, this might refer to the top 5 GPU clusters simply by count. Third, it's unclear whether that graph claims to be among the top 5, or exceed the top five combined. Fourth, top computers are ranked based on FP64...

Even assuming the voltage calibration assumption is correct, If, as an example, it's calibrated at 0.12V and due to wear the go pedal rests at 1% compression it would then measure 100% pedal compression on 12V. But there is an opposite sensor with is at 99% compression, which would then read...

Isn't the bipolar setup basically building a serial circuit within a single cell? So the cell voltage would be higher? Might be a reasonable production improvement for large prismatic cells which are cut into pieces anyway, but could eliminate all the tabs except the top and bottom ones?

Maybe, or they repurposed it for powerwalls. In the renders shown during the expansion announcement they showed the L-shape being turned back into a rectangle by adding two sections for semi production and one section explicitly for 100GWh of 4680 production capacity, for which no apparent...

No, the other way around. Find temporary off-site parking and provide continuous shuttle services during the construction. And a 'simple' two story structure wouldn't take too long to assemble. What I don't get is why they haven't put in a multi-storey carparking a long time ago. Even just a semi-permanent steel structure to get a second floor could free up a lot of space. It would get them the wiggle-room to finally start cleaning up this maze/mess..

No, stamping is south-east (stamping 1) and south-middle (stamping 2, former intrafactory road) South-west was officially designated as future production by Tesla and didn't get the big Isolation foundations. Doesn't rule out use for smaller stamping tools though..

Looks like a triple rear casting per side. Maybe they can integrate some of that on the final casting. Although bolting together a few castings seems pretty fast and easy.
