I have FSD Beta now with my 2018 X and considering how hard the car tends to brake, I think the physical brakes are used alot on all FSD running Teslas regardless of which motors are in the cars.

To get 40amps to the car you need a 50amp breaker. You can only charge at 80% of the breaker's rating. You are also losing some charging speed since your input voltage is 205 and not 240 like you would have at home.

Never hurts to charge somewhat slower. Heat of all components over time can be a killer. That being said all your charging equipment is probably rated at 40amps or more so you probably are not stressing them at 30amps. So we are only talking about the breaker and wiring.

I almost never need full power from my HPWC. I always run my charging at 25amp so that everything stays relatively cool. I believe in the long run, I will get longer life out of my wiring and charging equipment. On those few days I really need to charge faster I move the amps up.

3, 4 and 5 are probably much improved in current Model Xs than they were in 2016.
