Tesla's Supercharger Team was recently laid off. We discuss what this means for the company on today's TMC Podcast streaming live at 1PM PDT. You can watch on X or on YouTube where you can participate in the live chat.
Been using this with splitter for a couple of years in our 2018 Model 3. Then in November we started to have USB failures, ie. stopped working intermittently. Then stopped working completely in December. Tesla mobile came out, did some reset of the 'USB controller' and it worked again for a...
I'm getting very close to my 396 in my Plaid. Its much better than my 2016 S 75D with range. I actually test drove the Taycan and wanted to love it. I had a Boxster S about 15yrs ago and loved that. But I didn't feel engaged in the drive, it wasn't exciting. Yes build quality was better...
Anyone got photos of that twin size milliard in the refresh Model S - how good a fit it in it and how much trunk space does it take when not in use. Can it fit under the trunk? Cheers
Picked up my Plaid 10days ago, moved up from a 2016 Model S. I agree build quality is much improved. Its also so much quieter inside thanks to the improved glass and that build quality. Damn this thing is fast. Only 1 issue at pick up which was the missing floor trunk cover. I am still...
Hey all,
I am heading to Montreal in the next couple of weeks and my favorite hotel with destination charger is not available.
Looking for some suggestions for good downtown parking lots that are secure and have charging. Doesn't have to be Tesla, J1772 is fine as the car will be there for...
I drove to Montreal on the old firmware version and back on the new. I drive with normal steering setting and hold the steering wheel at the bottom with both hands. I remove one to change the radio, adjust nav, etc.
I drove the same the way up to Montreal and the way back. And it was exactly...
thats useful info. I found that the Audi system is actually relabelled Thule. So I am wondering if a Thule ski holder will fit a Yakima/Whispbar rack system
So looking to get ski rack for my Model S (yep with panoramic roof).
Tesla has the Whispbar available for me to pick up this week but struggling to find accessories for it. The WB300 Ski Rack is listed as discontinued on amazon and other rack sites.
Recommendations?
I also have an old Audi...
Still getting same error - I will keep trying. I am now doing a getData first and then the diagnostics. damn frustrating as I want to see that value :)
Ok, completely my dumb and everything in the world is fine. I walked away from debugging, watched the finale of Stranger Things 2 and then came back to the code. I then noticed that the response code was 200 and previously the response was 200 OK, my code was checking the response incorrectly...
Yep official app works.
My code has been code stable for over a year, well apart from an update for iOS11 earlier in the summer but its been working fine and was working on my drive to work fine and then just stopped around 1pm when nothing else had been touched. Its weird I can log in and get...
My app gets a new token every 2months to avoid the expiry. I am just thinking the OWNERAPI_CLIENT_ID and SECRET may have changed. Weird that it just stopped working this afternoon around 1pm EST.
Ok, wasn't that. I am using the ones issued in Feb2017.
I am at a loss at whats causing it...
Strange, my app that I built for myself has been working for well over a year and today I get the "
private, must-revalidate"
I signed in again, got a new token and still the same issue.
I should add that I am able to retrieve vehicles fine but any other API call such as get data fails with the...
hey is are these new items being returned...
"left_temp_direction" = "-137";
"right_temp_direction" = "-137";
I don't remember seeing them before. wondering if M3 related???
Anyone seen...
"battery_level" = "<null>"
Was getting a good value yesterday and today getting that?
Car has been parked at airport for 10days though.
Thoughts
tesla app, and remote S app, reporting my car has - miles and - %
My car is 3,000 miles away from me so can't check and a little concerned.
Anyone else getting anything weird?
I checked the car yesterday and it had 80% charge :(
Thorough check at SC revealed nothing. Issue hasn't returned. SC thought it could be firmware related but I am not so sure as it came back without any firmware change - of course that doesn't mean it wasn't.
fingers crossed it doesn't happen again.
I'm still on 17.11.3 but it just resolved itself this morning. Its still going in this friday for them to investigate further.
I didn't know 17.11.10 was out already - whats in the release notes for that? Suspect its bug fixes for 17.11.3
Dedham service took a look, did some testing today and its going back in next friday.
From what I understand the GPS is somewhere behind the touchscreen.
They checked voltage to the antenna - all good.
They discovered that the GPS found a good set of satellites but didn't lock onto any.
Next...
No dashcam - but it is on my list to get.
So whats interesting is the Rest API shows me a long/lat of -91/-181 which is invalid. The app shows me off west africa at a long/lat of 0,0 and the car is all over the place but roughly 8miles from where I am.
I think I understand the app, it...
Timing was interesting. Especially when Tesla said GPS network was down. Amazing how a reused rocket can find its way home but my car thinks it's in Africa.
So yesterday, about 12hrs about the latest firmware update (17.11.3) my GPS started to play up.
The Tesla App says my car is in the Atlantic off the coast of West Africa,
The car thinks its about 8-10 miles away from where it is.
And when I query the app using the API it gives me lat and long...
Car just updated to 17.11.3 on my model S AP2 - Summon works great, customised it so I get really close to the front of the garage :) Will try autosteer up to 80mph tomorrow and some other interesting updates to the Nav such as opening hours for local businesses ?! Also some new station on...
with the constant calls to grab data from the car how are you ensuring you don't impact phone battery life and also not impacting loss on the car as it will never go to sleep? Or am I missing something.
Cheers
Hope this helps.
In essence you can see I set the percent charge to 60% in this example
let intVal:Int = 60
let strVal:String = String(intVal)
var strURL:String = ""
strURL = "https://owner-api.teslamotors.com/api/1/vehicles/" + myTesla.id +...
Quick question. Is there any RSS feed or something else I can query to find out the latest firmware thats being pushed.
I know how to get whats installed on the car, but more interested in whats new and being pushed. I could try and scrape ev-fw but would be nice if there was an RSS or REST...
Cool, I ended up using Champion on 53rd near 6th, just behind the Hilton Midtown (where we were staying). Worked out well, car was looked after and they charged it. Was nice getting the notification on my phone that it was starting to charge as I took the short walk back to the hotel.
On...
Great advice guys. Heading off in a minute and will be getting to NYC after a couple of supercharger stops early evening. I'll fire up SpotHero at lunchtime and make a decision.
I'll report back after the weekend so others can benefit from what I find.
Cheers again
So heading to Manhattan this weekend with the family.
looking for advice on good, safe parking midtown.
If its got charging then thats a bonus but its more important that my beautiful white Model S has somewhere safe.
Any forum members got some advice and hopefully good experience in NYC...
So I got the update yesterday. On my street there is no center divider and no line down the middle of the street and auto-steer is not available (the steering wheel is greyed out and the street lines are light grey).
On the main local road which does have the central yellow line and no...
So I received 17.5.36 yesterday morning (Wednesday), observations so far
1) I am getting 'Driver Assistance Features Unavailable' significantly less - ie. once on my trips yesterday and it cleared itself inside 10mins
2) Highway speed remains same as previous firmware and as others have stated I...
am I reading this right, does
api/1/vehicles/{vehicle_id}/data
get all the data that in the past I had to use the 3-4 /data_request/ commands for ??
ie. I don't need
api.teslamotors.com/api/1/vehicles/vehicle_id/data_request/vehicle_state...
Yep I use that command to wake the car when I want data. I guess battery data and car security (ie.locked or not) would be useful to get more often but I don't want to keep waking the car. just thinking what should I get in the background and how often.
I am suspecting the new Tesla app is...
Quick question on app etiquette. So I have built my own Tesla app that meets my needs, I may release it to the world but that wasn't my point. I just wanted something specific for me and wanted to learn more about the API set.
The question is refreshing data. Currently I have it set to...
That supercharger status data is great. I so wish they would make supercharger data available as part of an API set, along with this and the amenity detail. Probably wishful thinking :(
Maybe they will include it in the promised updated Tesla App
Yep I still get this message daily and its damn annoying, seems to be worse since the last firmware update. I do the power off thing and normally I get it back for the rest of the drive. But then end of day I get in the car and its back.
If its a camera calibration issue then is there a...
Yep I had the lane dancing today as well. I hope they smooth out its twitchyness in an update and maybe you are right, maybe its using limited camera input for the initial release - although I don't know why they would do that !
TACC worked well for me, I adjusted the gap to 2 or 3 car lengths...
So I kept getting the Driver Assistance Features Unavailable and a road that yesterday had black lines on the display today was the foggy road to no where. I spoke to Tesla support and we did the reboots, the power off and the brake and reboot. The last seemed to clear it and I was able to try...
