I'll be driving up to NYC next week for a few days. It's the first long trip I'm taking in my MS and the first time it'll be parked overnight somewhere that's not my garage. I've been pretty paranoid about parking in public places and so far managed to avoid any damage. Are there garages or...
The other problem is that they get blistering hot in the sun. I had all my chrome wrapped in vinyl. Looks better and oddly feels cooler (even though it's satin black now).
Tesla is accelerating the pace of automotive innovation, which has been sorely lacking / absent for too long. Your top of the line Tesla is like a top of the line PC during the hottest hardware advances ... it's going to be out of date and worth a whole lot less within 6 months no matter what...
Just visited the SC this morning to get a headlight changed. On the way out, I noticed I have a new SW update pending. Since I recently upgraded to 8.0, this is unexpected.
Not sure if it's 8.0 or colder weather, but I've noticed a reduction in range recently. I do about 50/50 around town vs highway and was hoping extra regen would be a benefit. But it appears I now have higher consumption around town than before.
Just got the update and drove around a bit. AP is fine and a bit smoother. Better regen. But overall the screen feels really washed out now. 7.1 popped a lot better and had better delineations between elements. And the new media player does not feel like a leap forward. Design-wise, a...
This is exactly my experience as well. Also, just not that impressed with the upgraded sound. Except for better bass in a narrow range (strangely non-linear fade from low to mid) it's no better than the stock sound system in my GTI.
I make vigilant use of autopilot far more than my drives warrant mostly to see how it does and (hopefully) help train the system. Mostly it performs admirably. But I have had the same issue in the leftmost lane around a very slight left bend (divided highway) where it once decided to swerve...
Well, I had my delivery delayed a few days because the transport truck broke down. After receiving the car, I noticed the back left passenger door is not aligned with the body and both headlights have different problems (one takes 5 minutes to warm up, the other has defective signature lights...
I noticed on about day 2 that the door behind the driver seat protruded excessively from the lines of the body. Basically, if you look at the lower rear curve of the door, it's at least 5mm-7mm out of line with the rest of the body. This is not normal a panel gap issue. Tesla service has...
This is great stuff! I've noticed a drop in peak power between 100% just after the car reports fully charged and 100% that's been left on the charger for a bit longer. So I'm betting that 2+% is important.
Has anyone else had A/C issues since last night's software update? I was able to reset/reboot the car and it "fixed" itself. The dealer told me they had another call on the exact same issue within 5 minutes of my call.
Has anyone else had a problem with A/C sporadically failing to cool after the software upgrade? It happened randomly to me today. Car was cooling fine. Made a 5 minute stop. Hopped back in and the blowers would blow, but it would not cool. With 95F temps outside, this was inconvenient...
I've been wishfully thinking along these lines. I mean, I hope that's the case. Because, upgrade aside, it means I can charge my car to 100% every day and not worry about reducing battery life ;)
this is an incredibly useful graph. thanks for curating it. the form isn't flexible enough to allow multiple values, so I have to enumerate them if anyone wants to provide > 1 data point. it's really just a starting point for capturing data. I am manually incorporating data much of the time...
Josh, I added your info to the spreadsheet.
2nd day cruising around. At 80% my car finally linked up with Tesla. Power Tools reported 494 kW @ 80% SoC Max Batt. Will supercharge and report updated #s later today or tomorrow.
Based on this thread, I'm trying to collect enough data to determine if different battery packs (specifically newer ones) are producing more power than previous generations with the same rating. Are new 90kW packs possibly 100kW software limited? Are software upgrades responsible for the new...
It looks like there was a battery pack update between the weeks of 5/16 and 5/23. From the data, some of the older packs seem to generate higher output. There is no clear correlation yet. Looking for more data points!
With all of four data points, it appears to correlate strongly with battery version rather than SW revision. Interesting.
