Weird Gateway behavior after recent firmware rollback

Sorry, I replied in another thread: Gateway waiting time to reconnect to grid Turns out that the gross power was fine, there was arcing at one of the meter contacts/blades to the associated socket jaw in the panel which was causing high frequency noise (my guess) that threw off the PW. The...

Gateway waiting time to reconnect to grid

The PG&E tech found the problem when he was removing the power monitor that he had installed a week earlier. He decided to pull the meter since he said he had seen problems with the contacts in the past and surprise... When PG&E inserted the meter the first time, the upper right blade didn't...

Gateway waiting time to reconnect to grid

I've been having trouble with the grid contactor in my Gateway 2 cycling frequently and in a two hour call with Tesla and a tech from my installer today, the Tesla guy said something I haven't heard before. He said in Puerto Rico, Hawaii, California, Wyoming and several others I missed, the GW...

    Gateway updated to 21.20.2

My TEG 2/PWs were upgraded from 21.20.2 to 21.20.5 Friday and my system is back to crazy mode. While on the phone with Tesla, she timed one of the cycles at 20 s for the contactor to open and close; got to 54 cycles by 9 am. So much for 5 min... She changed my ticket from last weekend...

Weird Gateway behavior after recent firmware rollback

I have a three PW/11.1 kW solar install. I noticed on Saturday that I had about six backup events, Sunday I had 24 and today before 9am I had over 100, all very short (<1 min). The PWs were also not discharging like they should, instead power was coming from the grid with the PWs well above...

    Gateway updated to 21.20.2

I'm also on a Gateway 2 and was reverted. Along with that the system seems to be misbehaving. I have it in self-powered mode with a 10% reserve and I keep drawing power from the grid where I normally would be drawing from the Powerwalls. The power seems to have been flaky today (just north of...

Computer upgrades & USB power limits

Also the self driving computer, but I just saw something in an old copy of the service manuals I have that says the console USB ports plug directly into the back of the touch screen so they most likely do go to the infotainment computer. Did you find a datasheet for the infotainment computer or...

Computer upgrades & USB power limits

I'm getting both computer upgrades soon and would like to add the Tesla USB hardware (Pi 0). I have a 2017 S. According to TeslaTap the capacity of the S USB ports is < 2W and 6.2W for 3/Y. Anybody know if the upgraded S computer also upgrades the USB port power capacity?

    Powerwall shipping delays?

Nobody else will be as cheap as Tesla... I am going with Cobalt Power Systems in Mountain View for solar and three Powerwalls. It is substantially more expensive than going through Tesla but this is for a new house build so I needed a deterministic schedule vs a Tesla schedule. They've been...

    Center screen defect (not bubbles)

Just scheduled my first service and then noticed some strange defects (?) on the center screen. The run along the top ~1/4 of the display on each side and about the same across the top. I haven't seen pictures like this before, anybody else seen them/know a cause?

75 and 75D variants increased performance from July 1st - software and hardware improvements?

I just called (Silicon Valley), 183xxx VIN, mid-March 17 delivery. Initially they said they didn't see it but after checking somewhere else she said I was eligible and asked if I wanted to schedule service. Having it done Thursday! (no other reason to go in for service)

Getting access behind refresh front bumper

I'd like to put some magnets inside the front bumper so I can temporarily attach my front plate when I park in San Jose/SF since they will ticket if it is missing. Anybody have any idea on how easy the bumper is to remove or know of another way to gain access? I stuck my hand up from the...

    Fuse Box on 2016 S

Looks like the unused (in US) intrusion module connector shown in the Teslatap article is connected to F100 in the frunk area which is a 5A fuse (see FlatSix911's post above). This connector is typically used to get unswitched power for the camera. I'd bet that a 2A fuse would be fine for the...

    Fuse Box on 2016 S

This is probably the best overall guide: https://teslatap.com/articles/ultimate-2017-tesla-dashcam-guide/ With the latest Blackvue you apparently don't need any accessories to activate parking mode (I'm almost done installing a Thinkware F770).
