19,000? I took delivery in May and am not far behind with 17,000+. Good thing we are not on a lease program!

I'm thinking she meant 2.0 seconds. And even that would exceed the 40 MPH speed limit.

    Tesla moments

We enjoy cars so the money gets spent. Other interests that can get way more expensive: A passion for horses, or buying that big diesel crew cab with a 5th wheel for pulling that big ass camper . . hell, just gearing up for hunting or boating can be much more expensive than owning a Tesla...

    Tesla moments

Three mini moments: 1. At the guardhouse at work a new guard notices the handles are flush and asks how they work. So I push park and (of course) they present themselves and he's blown away . . long line, no time for Tesla talk. 2. At our last car show a man approached my wife and says, "You...

    V 8.0 Autopilot

Yes, mine also had the lane lines showing on the display. And there was very little traffic or I would NEVER have allowed it to steer that far across the center line. And like I stated earlier, even the lines were very newly painted so easy for the system to read.

I have not noticed that yet. Doesn't mean it's not doing it. Unless of course it seems extreme

    V 8.0 Autopilot

Last nights oddities: For about the first 5 to 7 minutes the system failed to "see" the speed limit signs and the headlights would not auto dim. When I engaged autopilot it held the set speed (48MPH), then slowed as speed restricted popped up, then sped back up, then slowed and sped up and...

    Tesla moments

We had a great time at the Landmark Park Car show. Probably 100 people stopped by and talked Tesla. Again, one of the primary questions was how much does one cost and why would I buy one? My only answer to the why is because I love cars and tech and this is the best of both. My passion is...

    V 8.0 Autopilot

I don't feel that was the case here. Just the day before I spent 7 hours detailing it for a car show. I did look closely at the camera opening and it appears there might be some clear (adhesive?) on the inside of the camera perhaps refracting sunlight. However I did not have this problem prior...

    V 8.0 Autopilot

I've recently gotten the Ver. 8.0 update and fully expected the autopilot feature to be more responsive than it is. In straight line driving in traffic I found it (for the most part) reduces speed earlier and smoother when approaching stopped traffic and that was impressive. However, tonight on...

    Tesla moments

This might get long and wordy, but bear with me. Last fall I went to my local Dodge dealer with the Hellcat bug and wanted to buy one but refused to pay their stupid "limited production" premium of $15,000. so I passed. Needless to say, I bought an S 90 D and today I stopped by the dealer...

Simply put, more presets for the radio! Only 8? Are you kidding me? This is a computer based radio and should easily remember more presets.

Perhaps it is your location, our white 90D turns heads wherever we go. We can hardly get out of the car without the occasional Q/A session, some very brief, some quite lengthy.

    Tesla moments

Things like that are all my on my wife and she just left with the car for work. I will ask her, but for the most part I can tell you much of what is contained is simply cut and pasted right from the manual and other Tesla information and photos gathered from the net. I know there is one photo...

    Tesla moments

You might recall from one of my previous posts, my wife printed up a loose leaf binder for car shows and cruise in nights with FAQ'S about our S90D and we normally leave it displayed in the open trunk so the public can flip through it.

    Tesla moments

So far, Alabama is not Supercharger friendly but we have often used Jack Ingram Motors (Montgomery) and Benton Nissan of Hoover. Both have been very Tesla friendly. You would need a CHAdeMO adapter which comes in very handy not only here in Alabama but great to have along on road trips. I'm...

    Tesla moments

Weather permitting I'll be taking the Tesla to the areas largest car show at Landmark Park in Dothan Alabama on Oct 1st. I've already taken the Friday before the show to give the car a good cleaning. I even intend to wash the titanium belly and plan to bring a mirror to show that as well. I...

I got that too, and finally got fed up and got an attitude with another guy I work with so told him something like this: Just look around the parking lot, Everybody has their "thing". There are crew cab dually diesel trucks with a 5th wheel in the back to pull huge campers. They also have a...

According to the instructions above, mine is VER 7.1! I had hoped with all the AP bruhaha, the updates would have come more quickly.

Autopark / Summon - How it works?

Oh yes, it will do that. I meant WE cannot steer it manually with the summon app. It's like Muggado said, It will steer itself to avoid obstacles.

    UhOh

Here's the update and thanks to all replies on this thread. With the information gathered here I discovered the fob shell is replaceable. That tells me the shell can be removed to facilitate drying. I found what seems to be the only video on removing the case: and used the other information...

Autopark / Summon - How it works?

No, I did not hold the summon button down although that would be an alternate, though more clumsy way to get the job done. And, yes, it will stop by itself and not careen into the wall. I told my wife to pull up to the garage, push park twice (which brings up auto park), push the appropriate...

This is going to sound stupid, and I feel that way but here goes. I just dug my key fob out of the washing machine! Has anyone had any luck with it working after being subjected to this mistreatment? I know my wife has washed (and dried) her Prius fob and it continues to work!

    Autopilot automatically slows in curves?

We were not using AP, just cruise. Manually steering with a cautious foot over the brake prepared to slow if necessary.
  31. Old Wyseguy

    Autopilot automatically slows in curves?

I might be reading way too much into just how/why the car slows down for the curves, but I feel the camera is reading the radius of the curve and the on board computer knows the approximate weight so adjusts the speed according to algorithms programmed into it. And, it could be a combination of...

    Autopilot Pot holes and debris

AP does NOT discriminate against debris or pot holes and will charge right through anything like that in its path. That is where manually taking over comes in!

Poll: How often do you use AutoPilot?

I'm in lower Alabama near Dothan and mapping all I can! I do feel that it learns somewhat as there is a tight (ish) curve with a guardrail on my daily drive to work and the first couple tries on AP I felt the car came too close and I took over control. It now navigates the curve just fine.

Launch tips and tricks for fastest timeslips

    Driving tips for P90DL Wanted

My S90D takes turns like it's on rails, however, keep in mind the Tesla has a very low CG but weighs 2 1/4 Tons! That's a lot of weight to sling around sharper turns at speed.

    Maximizing 0-60 & 1/4mi. times

Yes indeed! Move your drivers seat farther forward than normal. Practical experience has shown me that the G-force at launch will lighten your pressure on the go pedal.

    Autopilot automatically slows in curves?

My wife and I both enjoy AP and it will slow for curves, but on a really twisty/curvy (mountain pass) we just used the cruise and did the driving. I feel the car actually may have taken the sharper curves more cautiously than I would have had I been controlling the speed. We have a short...

    How was your home installation?

I live too far from any of the (recommended) Tesla charger installers so asked the local company I normally use. He was so glad to help he did the installation of an HPWC and the 220V outlet for cost+! He is researching all he can get his hands on to get on the list of recognized installers.

Anyone using Autopilot to reverse park Tesla in your Garage???

Autopark only seems to work well if there are other cars in the garage. With no other cars (or walls) to define the space it will center itself on the opening. Perhaps Tesla could come up with a centering device we could mount on the back wall for the car to align its self with? That would be cool.

MX P90D - ordering, but do I need Ludicrous?

I have to say right here and now as a S90D owner (and loving it) I would have totally enjoyed having the P90DL logo on the rear. Even if I would never use it, the car guys (and gals) know that logo and respect it! It will also increase the resale value when that time comes.
