Blog Bollinger Motors to Unveil All-Electric Sport Utility Truck

I am hoping this is a genuine “utility” vehicle and not a new competitor in the Nantucket/Santa Barbara crowd Defender driving market, which would price it 60 to 100k. I would like to see something plain Jane 25 to 30 k price range.

    New S60 > S75 @$2k -- Not Really a Deal?

I just upgraded my 70 to a 75. Took me about 1 minute to decide. $500 dollars? Seriously? I think the 60-75 upgrade was like $6,000 just a few months ago and is now 2k. I have driven several long road trips and have never had any issues. I was content with the 70 but this is a good deal...

Lack of home charging on trip is stressful

This is an interesting post. I picked up my 70D last summer and have done several road trips over 1000 miles. I charge exclusively at SCs. My first trip I forgot my charging cable at home. I've actually never charged anywhere but SC or at my house. SO, here are a few things I'll mention...

    8.1 Easter Egg!

This is another example of a great company which we are lucky to enjoy. Show me another car company that even cares about input from the owners of their products. They are actually going to take my kids' drawings at Tesla? They are going to read what owners write and study our behavior, wants...

    Elon says no Central Speedometer

Well, we don't have knobs in the Model S, and we seem to be getting by without them. I suppose I can learn to be without a "speedometer" in front of me. It's Elon's world, I just live in it! (and enjoy his cars)

Is there some information out that I missed about the interior of the Model 3? I haven't seen anything but a mockup.

Security Guards at Super Charger Stations

I was thinking about security the other night, late at night while charging during a long road trip. I end up on the road quite a bit late at night and living in the midwest, quite frequently I pull into a station and find nobody is there. I'm always happy to see another car charging. There...

How often do you have to reboot the display?

Not once in nine months, 8k miles. I always update and have added no "apps" - i recently started listening to podcasts with no issues.

Choosing CPO is tough. Actual pics?

Take the plunge. It's only money. I wouldn't buy one without autopilot, I'd even pass a P model to get autopilot. My 70 is still faster than anything I've seen on road...except another Tesla, and we're too busy waving at each other to race

Chevy Bolt screams middle America like Walmart Khakis

Middle America doesn't want a silly looking car. Why would anyone want cars that look like that for those prices? The fossil fuel burning car companies make token EVs for what they see as millinial man-buns; the Detroit car makers are just not that serious about renewable energy or EVs, and the...

M3 vs Model Y vs MS vs i-Pace

Wow. That's not your gradma's Jag... and I don't mean that in a complimentary way. Sort of looks like chevy volt. Not sure why the big fossil fuel burners feel that an electric car needs to be weird looking. The model s is the best looking in my opinion. A perfect blend, elegant, sporty, just...

Is direct sale really a better model than dealerships?

I love Tesla model. I dread walking onto car lots. I believe one reason for success of CarMax is no bs salesman pressuring. Tesla guys were always great. I went there about four times and test drive before pulling trigger, which was weird too, as its online. After purchase Tesla was great...

Who plans on getting a true, base $35k Model 3?

I agree with Dan. When you look at dollar for dollar, 35k is an amazing price for this car and worth it.

Who plans on getting a true, base $35k Model 3?

My S is pretty much fully loaded, so I might go barebones with the 3. I I do regret not having the UHF sound in my S, but I'm leaning towards having nothing except AWD... maybe suspension :)

No further part 2 reveal for Model 3

After reading the biography on Elon Musk, and seeing the announcement this week, I'm pretty convinced this is more then just another product announcement. The model 3 is just another step towards sustainable transport and at which point we all decide to get on board, whether it be the S, the X...

Recieved tesla s yesterday no AP2

I'm sorry you don't feel great about your purchase. I ordered my 70D in May 2016, and got it in June. Almost a week after I had it they announced the 75. I looked at it, wow, extra range, etc., but then thought, wait a minute, why get upset? I have an awesome car that passed the litmus test...

So range mode is bad for car? How does that affect battery heat? I thought that was cabin temp control.

Please correct my views on Model S charging if wrong.

How does it make your ears ring?
  27. Ashkenaz

Overall, which do you prefer? 7.1 or 8.0?

I like it. Maps faster, autopilot safer, music player has more options and two different ways to display, hides toolbar on screen so there is less clutter, picture of car charging is cooler, you can set charge limit sliding bar, I'm sure there is more.

I can't believe condition of my new MS at delivery

    Windshield distortion

Very small area of distortion at bottom center of window. It doesn't bother me. Believe it or not, Although I've never seen this in cars before, I have seen it in planes.

Tesla Supercharger attendant suggests throttling occuring

I am in Ohio, and I don't SC unless I'm headed on trip. The valet service in California sounds like a great solution! Do they take your keys and park it for you? How cool. Do you tip?

Soon to be new owner ?: Experiences with leaving car unattended

Camera or sensor? Should I be worrying about that too? Lol I did a full wrap. Beacoup bucks, but I've already noticed some saves on front when I (yep) HAND washed it this week. My simple take is to enjoy the car whatever way makes you happy, be it pampering and weekly heavy petting, or...

Someone talk me out of my range anxiety

Well by this time you've finished your trip and I'm sure it went well. I recently did my first trip in my 70D, Ohio to Virginia beach and back, and learned three things: 1. Don't forget your charging cable at home. I did. No biggee, just accelerated my faith in network. 2. Plan is great unless...

    What size rims for Model S? 19, 20, 21?

I love the look of bigger wheels but weather and poor roads here in Ohio (not to mention price) steered me to stock 19s. If I lived in California might be different. I love my car, yes the wheels are Camry-ish, but I'm ok with keeping a low profile. Having the nice wheels might be a bit too much...

My adventures in gaining control of my car

Did you really say "drain the coolant" in post 89? Seriously, computers have been in cars for years, I'd dare to say the percentage of cars "hacked" might be only a small amount more on this platform than conventional ICE due to tech nature of consumer.

    Production Quality Issues at Delivery?

I got my 70 in June. No issues. Had a full wrap done. No issues. One 1600 mile road trip- now at 2,500 miles. No issues. Hope you have same. It's a wonderful car. Maybe I got lucky

    Model S 60 on a Road Trip

Check EVtripplanner like others have said. I just finished a round-trip Dayton-Virginia Beach trip in my 70. Two times I elected to supercharge it up to 100% because I wasn't comfortable arriving at next supercharger with 10%. However in every case, I would end up arriving at a higher...
