Well it's in the Master Plan: Besides saving a thousand bucks, it doesn't really matter whether one buys FSD pre- or post-delivery. What matters is FSD is happening, and much sooner than people think (2-4 years). Let's stop and appreciate how cool that is.

Hope there's a good settings menu to adjust phone/car features. I can live with this so long as it unlocks fast and is secure, because if my phone becomes a key I want to make sure the car needs a password to start the car and not just the presence of the phone.

Keep in mind, Model 3 was going to come out in 2019. Tesla ramped up production by two years and decided to focus on autonomy and a simple design. I don't think we'll see a spaceship steering system in Model 3. Maybe on the Tesla Semi or Roadster.

People always forget the context of the tweet was about steering controls, not the feel of the dash or interior. The steering controls and system feels like a spaceship. However seeing as they moved production up two years, we might not see the spaceship feeling steering controls at launch.
