Can someone explain how this scam works? Is it simply posting fake listings in hopes of getting money without delivering a car? Don't most people use a cashier's check? This seems like it would never work, but I've heard of crazier things.

It is definitely temperature related. IIRC the manual even says that once ludicrous mode is on if the temperature is perfect then enabling/disabling max battery will do nothing. This setting just heats or cools the battery to perfect temperature and could essentially be thought of as, "ENABLE...
