M3 broke down, was not drivable

It was the typical pick up experience of just being handed the key with no explanation. The service advisor texted me that the rear drive unit was replaced and the car was ready to be picked up. The invoice was supposed to emailed but never was. When I picked up the car, there was no service...

M3 broke down, was not drivable

They replaced my rear drive unit and 12V battery. No cost to me, yeah!

M3 broke down, was not drivable

No, I wasn't. Models S and X are the only ones that you can get an extended warranty on (which covers roadside I believe), not 3 or Y.

M3 broke down, was not drivable

I just looked it up. You're right - for battery and drive unit: 8 yrs 100,000 miles for SR 8 yrs 120,000 miles for LR Tesla roadside said I was out of warranty and they were going to charge me for a tow. Luckily I had AAA and got a free tow.

M3 broke down, was not drivable

Yes, thanks. Saw this here (his M3 was only 2 days old) as well as Car and Driver having a similar issue. They both reported the rear motor assembly being replaced in addition to the 12 V. Sounds expensive as I am out of warranty.

M3 broke down, was not drivable

My 2017 Model 3 (VIN 2588) just died on me yesterday. I was making my first Costco run in 3 weeks during this pandemic. I got back to my car and got warnings to "safely pull over" and "electrical power reduced." Fortunately I was not driving. Got towed to Tesla Buena Park and still have not...

Is anyone able to download data logs for accident evidence?

Looking for someone in the Orange county/ LA area who is willing and able to download data, specifically speed, from our Model X. Wife accidentally love tapped the car in front at a red light. No visible damage to that car, maybe a scratch. They are now claiming $700 in repair costs + lost...

    Order email from Tesla

I am current owner, live in SoCal, made reservation on 3/31. Can't wait to get my email! I check MyTesla page everyday just in case I missed the email. It's good news if this is true - should mean owners should start getting the invitation to configure in next few weeks!

Post Initial Problems with the Model X

That is in a garage at a relative's. Prior to replacing the sensors, my doors would have struck those pipes and I would have to physically stop them. Now that the sensors are working, the doors stop before hitting anything, but they don't open very much. You can physically open them more...

Post Initial Problems with the Model X

UPDATE: A little late, but I've been too busy driving around in our X! Our X was in the SC for 10 days, got it back 10 days ago. 1 and 2: sensors on falcon wing doors replaced. seems to have fixed both issues (front doors do not have sensors). only problem now is trying to get out when the...

My car was in the SC for other issues stated in another thread. They told me Thursday the seat came in for recall and replaced them. Picked up my car yesterday.

Tesla needs to add an option on the touchscreen to adjust the height of the trunk lid opening since there are no sensors. Many parking garages have varying clearances, so always manually stopping/adjusting the height is quite bothersome. Our old X5 had this capability using the iDrive knob.

You are probably right that they are getting slammed. I'm fine with that given the situation. I just would rather be told, "Sorry, we are getting slammed. Someone will try to get back to you in the next few days," than be told they are going to call me when they are not. Also, if they told...

Post Initial Problems with the Model X

Tesla service has been subpar up to this point. My MX has been at the SC for a week now. Not once have they called to update me. I have called a couple of times since my post, but have gotten no information except that my service adviser will call me. Once, I was told that he was on the...

Post Initial Problems with the Model X

I have had the same problem in a garage with a uniform ceiling (no protruding pipes, etc). The sensors should have detected the distance and prevented the doors from hitting, but they still did not work. I have a similar issue with the front doors. I understand from reading other threads that...

Post Initial Problems with the Model X

No. All door icons available, none greyed out. See pics of the nice deep scratch! Also, I have attached pics of of the falcon wing opening in a low garage. I was prepared and physically stopped the door with millimeters to spare as I mentioned in earlier post.

Post Initial Problems with the Model X

Took delivery March 26, MX 90D. issues: 1. front doors opening and hitting objects and cars as reported by others 2. FWD not sensing distance to ceiling and objects. Actually hit our garage door resulting in a moderately deep scratch. Since then, had to manually stop doors (by tapping black...
