Hey guys, I've posted an update to the emulator so that it includes v9 now.
Please check it out on the post below:
Check out new v9 Model 3 Screen simulator!
Just got through a marathon weekend working to transfer the new v9 release into an online simulator that anyone can play with. Like I said in the initial release, i will try to keep this updated so its a nice clean reference for all the Model 3 releases so we can all watch as the...
I took the screenshots from the 'gear' icons. Lots of the major feature settings are hidden in there (one i had never even noticed before).
Should work on it tonight and have it up tomorrow.
Thanks for highlighting this!
Thanks @kwazi7 ! Will definitely consider open sourcing down the line if it proves useful. For now its just an interesting hobby project.
I'll hold you to your offer though!
Fixed the issue on Internet Explorer. Working now.
Just got to make it work better on mobile and should be good to go
Thanks S3XY! I'm hoping to get v9 this week and I'll update so anyone can see it.
Will also take a look at what in those 'gear' icons to see if its worth including here.
I've implemented the background caching and also reduced the sizes for the image files so its a much smoother experience with less bandwidth required.
Currently works best on a computer. Found some bugs on Internet Explorer and mobile browsers that i'm working through.
Thanks for taking a look! I blurred out the private addresses ... what's there are public businesses so that's fine.
Definitely don't need any training as so much will change between now and 18 months. Hope it's still useful though, for seeing what new features are being released and how they...
So this week we got some tantalizing first glimpses of Tesla's V9 interface and I wanted to compare some of the new interfaces against the latest version that I have running in my model 3 (while sitting at my desk). Looked online and I couldn't really find anything to use as a baseline besides...
Assuming the car is a perfect machine with 100% efficiency, then those numbers should be right.
There is a lot of data out there to back this up for owners that charge in the more aggressive 10% to 90% range:
Tesla Model S battery degradation data
Tesla battery predicted to have 80% capacity...
Been meaning to update my original US cost / monthly payment tool with support for international markets so that our fellow model 3 enthusiasts abroad can begin to warm up and prepare for deliveries that should start sometime next year. Just a lot of 'real life' happening and it required quite...
Contacted me yesterday! Got VIN 425xx !
Its not on the Tesla portal but was on the purchase order they sent.
Ordered : in-store 03/31/16
Configured : 04/25
VIN Date : 06/21
Non-owner, Dallas, TX
Love these rims! Are these the ones you got originally from Tesla or are these after market? I see they have the Tesla logo so I'm confused as I haven't seen this option
Looks like was a big push today! Just got my invitation!
03/31 line waiter, Dallas, non-owner, Mar-May ... i didnt reserve until around 2:30pm so I was sure I would be at the tail end of May ... but was pleasantly surprised!
I wonder if that is a sign of them being more confident of 2500+ per week? Or just boosting Canada deliveries ahead to avoid hitting US 200k limit too 'soon' ??
ah ... i get what he means ... correct ... i used the term 'Line waiter' loosely ... I just meant people that did the in-store reservation that day ... not people that actually had to line up.
Looks like my initial heurestic was off the mark! bump all owners to the top
Tesla Employees / family - Living in California
Tesla Employees / family - outside California

funny ... the first thought that came to my head after reading the OP's post was ... "WTF did the detailers do to my car?" ... thats just where my head went. Car was fine ... you dropped it off for 3 days ... come back and its a mess .... why wouldnt to immediately wonder if they had messed...
So, I'm looking at this along the lines of iphone 1, 2, 3. I got an iphone 1 ... it was way ahead of its time and super cool. But those were early days. Apple quickly pushed the product with a much bigger better screen and updated the comms and the compute power and everyone just had to have...
Will the model 3 hold value over 4 years ??? My thinking is that , in terms of holding value Tesla will be its worst enemy.
In the next 4 years , I expect:
1. New Tesla's with further range 400 - 600 miles probably at the same price as the LR
2. New Tesla's that can support 350kw charging
3...
@wyldtek , see link below for member with the same scenario you described (ordered m3, but became tesla owner in June after-the-fact).
He still got his early invite as part of the existing-owners early-invites.
Tesla owner configurations begin
mmmm .... "reserved their orders at the Model 3 event" ... seems @event reservations should be treated as an "in-store" reservation since it required physical presence? ... i think we can claim its somewhat consistent ??
@electracity , errrmm ... thank you for your contribution ?!
@schonelucht , this spreadsheet is fantastic! thanks for adding the "in store" column! I'll also help update the sheet based on feedback posts here.
@tashtibet , i doubt there is any additional distinction for the online orders. So it looks like two buckets for reservations:
a) Those who physically went to a location and joined a line
b) Those who ordered online
Each bucket is queued in order of time ... so the only advantage of ordering...
@gregincal , we're just trying to figure it out! ... per employee orders from "all over", my thinking is that the reservation is held using the "employee" as proxy ... so Tesla is not really looking at the location of the family but the location of the employee making the reservation
Thank...
I don't know about you guys, but every since the news came out this week that non-employee customers were finally getting a chance to configure their cars for delivery in the next 4 weeks, I've been trying to figure out what the sequence of invitations could be, and more importantly when i would...
This needs its own thread - where every user that receives an invitation to configure provides this information so we can figure out when we can reasonable expect to get our invitations
I think I'll need to update the tool to include "Charger installation" options and costs since this is definitely and upfront cost for most new model 3 owners (existing model S/X owners being the exception)
From the threads I've read here, it seems like it might even be a good candidate for a...
I would love to be able to pay for my car this year so i can get my refund back as early as March (3 month wait only) ... unfortunately my delivery is Jan - March ... so no hope there ... boo hoo
@insaneoctane , maybe i could use better terminology .... If you are doing a loan, the bulk of the cost moves from the purchase to the monthly payments that you will be making to pay down the loan and financing charges.
Your purchase "out of pocket" will be mainly the $3500 you pay to Tesla...
@EdFerg, WA has a special incentive for new EV's under $60k that can travel at least 30 miles on battery power. The first $32,000 of the vehicle price is exempt from Sales Tax. Thats why the Sales Tax value looks so low...
@tpatana , fixed that bug ... please try again now after refreshing the page.
Also I'm curious to see a screenshot of the analysis you ran that gave the ICEV option such a significant advantage ?!
@Nuclear Fusion , depreciation at this point would be a random guess. We don't even have an idea of what the resale value for a car that's barely released would be. A bigger question would be , what happens to BMW, Audi resale values when there are used Model 3's on the market? Remember what...
