Battery Heater Not Enabling via App

Today with 2020.4.1, heater works with App. But as soon as I started driving to a Supercharger (60 min. away), battery heater stoped (only 1/4 regen). After a 30 min. drive uphill and downhill (60-80 km/h), regen was full available without heating the battery.

Battery Heater Not Enabling via App

Known problem with 2019.40.2.3 . It heats not always and not enough! Battery Heater starts, if - charging and preconditioning together (sometimes the charging heated up a little bit and the heater does not start) - you start to drive with cold battery - you enter a Supercharger as a target...

Is this the new charging rate?

if the battery is cold (overnight outside) and less than 45 min. drive to SuC it's just normal. The charging rate for warm batteries can be found at Tesla Supercharging - Summer 2019 Update Your 90 kWh battery should be above 60 kW for SoC of below 70%. Battery Heater Not Enabling via App

Just seen Battery-Heater in App! Enable Heater in App AND start charging (in my case with 3x13A,230V = 9 kW). Battery-Symbol was visible in App, but only for 3 minutes. That is not long enough! S85 (2015) Version 2019.40.2.3

    Winter , snow driving

My S85 (2015) has only rear wheel drive. I didn't needed the chains (I have them, better save than sorry) at all. Not even when I drove to Norway/North-Cape in Winter 2017. :-O If you own a "D" 4-wheel Tesla, you will not need them on normal roads.

Is this the new charging rate?

They did, but not any more with the 2019.40.x software
  13. pjw65

    Scheduled Charging?

Depart at 7 and charges stops at 5:35 ? This makes no sense for me. Will use teslafi for that. Btw. Power peak rate in my region is 7-19.

    TeslaFi.com

Since 2018.50.6 on my AP1 Model S data logging is really bad. Lots of drives are missing. Because I had also problem with the app connecting my car, I think it is more a car SW problem. It seams not connect properly to the tesla server after waking up. Anyone else with the same problem?

For that, you should just start charging in time, so that it just finishes when you want to leave the house. Model S/X had also to uncheck "Range Mode" (not existing in M3, I think). Forget preconditioning the cabin.

    TeslaFi.com

For current night temperatures (-3C/26F) during night, a Model S would heat up in 10-15 minutes (using up to 6 kW). For -10C/14F 30 Minutes should be ok. 40-60 Minutes (start 2nd time after 35 Minutes) if it's colder.

The car should wake up even when sleeping after 30-60s. It takes longer, but it should wake up (sending a SMS-Poke to the GSM of the car). In Switzerland we had the problem, that it was not working with one provider (Swisscom). Then Tesla changed the provider (Sunrise) and it was working!

Electrek article regarding improved cryptography key fob and PIN

Seems, that Tesla used an even older Chip or just used this one wrong. In another Article by Gizmondo, Tesla says it costs $150 and it needs a software upgrade: A software upgrade only would never cost $150, I think they will replace the key fobs (or part of it).
