12V Accessory Power Port Switches Off Erratically

A week later, and an unusual; and unexpected things has happily occurred. Just outta the blue, the power port has stayed on with the radio being plugged in continuously. Can't explain it, but I am not touching it. A fellow Tesla owner who also has a mobile radio tells me the power management...

12V Accessory Power Port Switches Off Erratically

Well, a discovery: there is a physical connection problem with the cigarette lighter plug. Its a clunky plug normally, but this one seems to be very picky. More to come shortly. It did light up with a twist and a push.

12V Accessory Power Port Switches Off Erratically

Right. My device would rarely get to 15A. So that's not it. I do know that the device, in it's off state, draws a meager, barely measurable 2 MA, and that is enough for the M3 girl to shut down the power port. So I pull the plug each night before she goes to sleep. Its always there in the AM...

12V Accessory Power Port Switches Off Erratically

The M3 "rested" overnight -- port was dead. And all day at the office -- port was dead. Methinks this is now a hardware issue and will be my first trip for service! Will continue the thread.

12V Accessory Power Port Switches Off Erratically

I have a two-way radio installed in my M3 powered by the center console 12V cigarette lighter power port. I remove the plug when the M3 is powered off so the port has no load when the car is not in use (that's so the very sensitive power management system does not switch off sensing a foreign...

    Navigate on Autopilot Disappears

GTIceman, the update is Version 2019.12.1.1 4b1dd29 -- check to make sure that's what was installed. Try the Power Off re-bot. Certainly cannot hurt. Might help.

    Navigate on Autopilot Disappears

YAY! Confirming version 12.1.1 pushed out yesterday PM has restored NOA. Thanks Tesla. Will do the 3-minute Power Down also just to make sure.

    Navigate on Autopilot Disappears

OK, Tesla pushed out a 25-minute software update which should correct the NOA malfunction.

    Navigate on Autopilot Disappears

All, there is a parallel thread on loss of Navigate on Autopilot and other anomalies. Tesla central had suggested a full three-minute Power Off (not just the two-thumb-brake screen re-boot). Safety and Security > Power Off. Have a watch handy... Do not touch anything for 3 full minutes. After 3...

    Navigate on Autopilot Disappears

Was told the FW repair is very soon. Another anomaly: checking the update notes, the screen is blank. :--( None of this was resolved by re-booting the M3.

    Navigate on Autopilot Disappears

I have a Model 3 with EAP, and I've been enjoying the latest update which added Navigate on Autopilot with its very neat function of lane changing automatically. Unfortunately, it has disappeared from my display. I was advised by Tesla central that this is a known issue and a firmware update to...

    12V Accessory Power

Anyone know the specs on the 12V power port in the M3 center console. Is it 12 Amps, 15 Amps max? Also, assuming it switches off when the vehicle is off, yes? Is there another 12V power source anywhere else in the M3?

Whoo Hoo! Got my Three and loving it!

Bravo. Agreed. Took delivery of my M3 Tuesday. VIN #9999. Peice of art! Incredible science. So very impressed.

Poll: 81% of Prospective Model 3 Owners Say They Won’t Pay Upfront For Full Self-Driving

Even if it was fully functional (and I don't think they're quite there yet), there are regulatory matters to resolve before FSP can happen. Very curious about it, however. And I will order with the semi-autonomous system. Can't wait.
