State based EV road user charge (Overturned 18/10/23)

Everyone seems to be getting their letter/cheques so thought I'd follow up if I missed a letter. Called Friday and they had me confirm bank statements and payments and jumped through every hoop to be told mine was eligible but hadn't been looked at yet and they'll get to it when they're ready...

State based EV road user charge (Overturned 18/10/23)

I'm not disagreeing with you @Quickst just expressing 'thumbs down' to that outcome. The amount they collected isn't huge and affects a small number of people so should be easier than trying to figure out refunding an excise paid by a huge amount of people. What gets me from that quote is that...

I've been following the Moorabool Council EV charger situation for years(!) now as am a rate payer and have heard of many proposals get shot down to the point I'd completely given up on it happening here due to the ignorance of the councillors and small minded insular politics that goes on...

    Supercharger - Ballarat (Lucas)

Righto, well there was supposed to be a supercharger site built at the newly constructed Hungry Jacks / EG Ampol just off the Western Hwy in Bacchus Marsh. A couple of years back Tesla offered to build a charger and was part of the plan but was later rejected as at that time would only charge...

Small? 12 spots would make it equal biggest in the southern hemisphere with Box Hill. I have a feeling all new sites from now on though will be 8 and up. My kids used to play spot the Tesla, not anymore.

This one was a nice surprise. No hints and it just popped up a few weeks ago on PlugShare. It’s in a pretty good location, close to Coles, Kmart, JB HiFi, Mall etc. I was hoping for one in Echuca but Shepp will do too. I was surprised this location has 6 spots, will rarely need that many here...

Any safety benefits of Model 3 AWD in Australia under normal driving conditions?

My reply to this post the other day was just to give the OP an insight into my own experience with weighing up this question, didn’t want to start a debate about what is better. So just to clarify if I had unlimited funds, would get AWD, but as I didn’t and I went with RWD, and never had any...

Any safety benefits of Model 3 AWD in Australia under normal driving conditions?

Not worth it. (IMO) I remember sweating over this when I purchased my S in 2016 and ended up going for RWD and don’t regret saving the money for a second. I changed my mind many times, thinking I’d be future proofing, maybe better resale, regret not getting the higher tier option or it’ll be...

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

Ha, that's funny. Did you get an update for it to change? So weird. Do you guys have connection problems, ie connecting to the vehicle via the app? My app will only connect if the car is charging or was awake for some reason. Has been like that since I had installed back in July. I'm thinking...

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

Yep, not for me. The charge screen is just a basic white screen with only start/stop, amp selection and scheduled charging with no graphic or way to set a charge limit and start charging. Phone is the only way I can do it currently.

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

Home from holiday and updated Model S with upgraded MCU2, am I crazy but is the charge screen missing now? How do you set the charge % in car? Only possible in app? Can't seem to find any similar experiences from anyone online, maybe just an upgraded MCU2 issue? Bah!

MCU2 Upgrde and no AM or FM radio

Hey @Jimat I recently upgraded to the MCU2 and having a lot of connection issues, but I don’t think it’s the 4G module. 80% of the time the app doesn’t wake the car in my garage, and we live 800m from a Telstra 4G tower and wifi at home. Also while driving it regularly disconnects from the...

    Supercharger - Moe, Vic

Yep, Traralgon in my opinion would have been the preferred option, and probably Teslas too as it's still listed as Traralgon on the future supercharger map. The Moe Chargefox cables have been vandalised a couple of times apparently, you can bet the Tesla site in the middle of town will be a...

I was there about 2 weeks ago sniffing around and no sign of anything as yet. Not much left of Q1, wouldn’t it be great if it comes online next week and takes us by surprise in some off the radar location. (Yes, Friday drinks for me started early this afternoon. Cheers!🍺)

Hehe, yep. And surely the Q1 estimates would be the ones they’d be most confident of happening on time. I’ve been waiting on Torquay/Geelong since I first had a test drive half a decade ago.

    MCU upgrade/replacement for early vehicles

Hey @Vegas glad your MCU2 upgrade went well, I'm hoping for the same! I have a 2016 Model S with AP1 and have just booked a MCU2 upgrade in a couple of weeks. Did your upgrade give you Sentry mode? I asked a Tesla tech and he said yes, but have seen others say no because not compatible with...

Was passing through Geelong today and decided to visit Barrabool Hills Plaza to see if there was any hints of the previously rumoured charger site that could pop up. Air Quality in Canberra worst in the world today.

And they installed for you @ShockOnT? That's a bargain. I had looked at just getting the filter @JayTee and doing it myself but would like the software update for the Bioweapon option in the MCU and imagine would need to be done by a tech.

Air Quality in Canberra worst in the world today.

I got a quote to get the bioweapon defence filter retrofit done at the Richmond service centre last Nov on a 2016 updated nose model S. They were asking $860 installed, decided it was a bit exy. @ShockOnT was the $350 including installation? Seems like a no brainer at that price.
