If anyone wants "Whatever happened to that person" update... -Sold the car in entirety in 2019 (IIRC, this project yielded a net $20k profit or something like that). -Moved to Japan for my Amusement Industry Career designing controls systems for Amusement Rides. -Pandemic was not kind to the...

ANYONE CAN GET ME THESE PARTS??

9 1013184-00-D LH FRT KNUCKLE 1 ea I have one of these sitting around. I bought it to replace the knuckle on my salvage when I was still going to attempt to repair it. Since I've decided to part-out instead, you can have it at the same price I paid for it. Message me for details.

    2013 Model S Drive Unit

In the past I've been refusing to sell my Salvage Tesla's Drive unit because I had intentions to use it for my own personal project, but have recently decided not to pursue that personal project as my financial priorities have changed. Please message me with an offer if you are interested in...

Parting out S85 (Battery Modules too!)

Sorry for the lack of replies in recent past, I've been in & out of the hospital with surgery scheduled on Jan 25th. So for the better part of the next 5 months I will have no ability to remove parts that aren't already removed.

I'm pretty sure the mirrors are not power folding... there was never an opportunity to actually turn on the car to the point that those would be actuated though.

So I'm back in the US. Selling parts for those who need them. Also, next bad idea: Let's take the battery and drive unit (and other electrical parts) and throw it into my prius! (The prius would likely also need modification to hold everything). Alright, bring on the hate posts.

A College Student Rebuilding a Salvage Tesla Model S

After having driven around the countryside of Japan for a couple of weeks... I have lost all interest in a model S. Car is too big to be practical in my opinion. While I have seen 1 model S driving around Tokyo, if I had the money I wouldn't get it. Model 3? Maybe, depends on how Tesla...

Yes the suspension is an issue. As a matter of fact after removing the battery the car now being 1,300 lbs lighter was able to be towed to our car workshop. That said major reason is: Car is getting too expensive to repair for my preferences and threshold. I have a very limited financial...

I do not have a dual motor, I was just guessing at what might be bent/broken/causing the problem I have not looked yet at the specifics yet. I'll contact you for information if the decision gets reversed, but after having done some math... it's unlikely. I posted like once a month?...

It'd take me some time to look for where the damage occurred, but basically sweat dripped off my arm and short circuited something. On the topic of brake pads rusting to the rotors, we dragged the thing for about like 15 feet or so being towed by tow straps by my dad's truck, the tires just...

No upgraded stereo, just the standard stereo... plus the major difference with that is the existance of a subwoofer in the upgraded portion as well as a different MCU, which the MCU is fried. No heated steering wheel. Single gen1 charging module.

So I finished my attempt at a repair of the connector: Unsurprisingly, it didn't work. Shortly thereafter I began to work on getting the car to become towable. Disabled the parking brakes by putting 12V on the necessary pins, and then we attempted to tow it, but the wheels still wouldn't...

In other news, my dad bought a salvage KIA and all it needed was a bumper to get working. He replaced the bumper, and my mom has about as much awareness & understanding of cars as roadkill and threw away the broken bumper cover I still needed parts from rather than throwing away the KIA's old...

This be why his shell is an alright idea... saves me the effort of replacing a b-pillar, or front end weld and doing necessary engineering simulation to verify its structural integrity. If the price is right it saves a lot of time and effort although is less educational.

Oh, also I modified a power supply to provide more current so I'm not constantly buying and replacing dead 12V batteries: Oh! I discovered the absence of safety cut loop in frunk, so that needs to be replaced too. I feel it would be dishonest if I didn't mention my slither.io addiction...

    2 Continental ContiSportContact 5 ContiSilent

No it's not, and I'm not the guy who offered. New, each tire costs around $400 so a total of $800 new + shipping. Your own statement was that there is 7/32 tread left (not a whole lot of usability left it's less than 1/4, little more than 1/5) 7/32 = 0.21875 0.21875 * 800 = $175 I'd say the...

Ok, who was this on HWY 880

I don't think blowing through a red is classified as lane splitting... he did not stop so he either was in the left lane or blowing a red and as you've indicated going in the left lane is a bad idea with any car being there about ready to go and cutting them off.

Tesla Model S Charger - NEEDS REPAIR

Well do you know what exactly caused the self-check fail? I might be interested in repairing this in the distant future (think a year or more from now). If someone doesn't purchase this in the near future (before then) please don't dispose of it. -Satosh

Ok, who was this on HWY 880

Having driven a working model S... and also having driven a motorcycle... I think both are idiots. The model S driver is dumb because he was paying too much attention to one-upping the motorcycle that he nearly crashed into the other car. Although the other car jumping lanes isn't helpful, he...
