It was the biggest pain in the ass. I just received my model S Friday and worked on the front license plate yesterday. I used small needle nose pliers to loosen them just enough to use my fingers the rest of the way. But this took like 30 min trying to get these screws from hell off.

I'm considering doing the install myself. You didn't find it difficult. Do you think it's worth paying someone $400 bucks to get it done? I want to tap in the power cables behind the rearview mirror. My car will be here tomorrow!

I will be asking this question when taking delivery. A lot of the tesla staff seems like they're learning about the new features slowly but surely. They need time to research and ask corporate it seems like. So i will ask my DS when I take delivery.

It's a cheaper upgrade and that made me think as well if it's a better option to go with so I can charge quicker at destination chargers. Did you get a date yet? My DS says next Wed hopefully.

This is correct for the standard black. Ive read and heard from actual detailers that the Obsidian Black is the way to go if you want black. Something about the solid black is hell to deal with. And this is from a guy that has detailed over 112 teslas.
