I love the service, mostly because I do not have to waste my time taking for oil changes every 3 months, I like the culture of the company, and the only time I needed a service (for 12 V bat), I got a Tesla Model S no problem. Everyone at the SC was just superb. BMW etc. dealerships, actually...

Besides my model S, I like riding horses (mild sarcasm). Both modes of transportation make much more pleasant sound than vroom-vroom cars. The sound comfort is unmatched. And I can't imagine my hot girlfriend going vroom-vroom like Lambo - an amusing comparison.

I think that's normal (depending on how load it is, and what kind of whine. I have the same type of car, S90D, and it does a bit of a electric noise during acceleration and regen in 10-30 mph range, kind of like a jet airplane taking off noise.

Maybe this is why sometimes MB and BMW etc. are associated with thugs - hopefully Tesla will escape that association for any of its models (not offering armored versions).

Those "quality issues" were only "perceived", so no worries and no need to head to Tesla.

I have had my car about four weeks now (90D), and I had none of those issues. Some slight "spaceship" whining noise, like in some airplanes during take of, but I don't mind at this point. You definitely should take it to a SC and fix all these issues. Also let them check the door panel again...

After taking delivery of my Model S 90D about a month ago and staring at the nosecone since, I finally decided to take it off, primarily to locate the 12V battery terminals. Just in case. Based on youtube videos and various posts here, I fully expected to find a red-colored positive terminal...

This is such a different way of thinking about buying a car. It is going to be difficult to predict resale value 6 years down the road for a car that has no precedent. This is not a mainstream car and it requires an new infrastructure for energy. Too many uncertainties to make predictions...

This is normal, I got the delivery estimate posted only when the production was complete, which took 8 or 9 days. Same day got a call from the DS to schedule pick up. So no worries, it will happen soon. Best to spend your time preparing other things, like the outlet, paint protection, garage, etc.

Is the 12 V battery available for purchase at all? I know about warranty, but still if at any point it needs changing, would that be relatively easy to DIY? I am thinking well beyond the 4 years, as this is a car I plan to drive "to the ground".

I will be taking delivery of my 90D next week. It would be interesting to track the performance of the 12V battery in this new late 2015 model. Is replacing the 12V battery an easy DIY operation? Wondering just in case...

I agree with this in general. Except the last sentence. We ARE trainable. This is how we learned to walk. Just takes a long time and many attempts - will not happen overnight.

Mine changed over to in production this afternoon. Order placed 10/09 Confirmed 10/17 In production 11/12 That is 26 days in the queue, perhaps the record on the month (for US deliveries, anyway).

My options are: standard multi-pattern seats, standard 19' wheels, regular roof, autopilot, piano black, premium package (interior/lighting). The DS told me that the production will start "mid-November". I guess it means 11/15 or so. Delivery early December, did not change from get go.

Mine is 90D Deep Blue Metallic, confirmed 10/17, still in queue (VIN 1129xx). So it is not the Metallic Silver paint. Nor the seats. It's something more complicated. The DS says it will be in production mid-November, and delivery early December as originally promised.

I think this is an awesome car that I plan to keep long term, and not jump from one to another frequently. With that, I hope that the official production year will only matter for things like insurance and registration. With that, I am happy that my car, which is to be produced end of November...

Agree with that, I have multipattern seats and seem to be in the "somewhat delayed" category. I estimate my time from "confirmed" to "in production" will be about 25 days

I also got a blue 90D on order. My DS called yesterday and said production will start "mid-November". I guess that means the week of 11/15 or so. Delivery is early December.
