2018 Model X Load Floor Handle

I bought the replacement part from Rick ( email: 1766inbj at gmail dot com ). His 3D printed part has four supports for the handle pin. And each support is clearly stronger than the factory two supports. Rick was great. He responded quickly with answers to my questions, confirmed payment and...

    Goo seeping down center console

That would be great news. I just have to be prepared to deal with goo drooling out for, what I would guess, is over a very long time. "Hey honey, grab another roll of paper towels. The Tesla is drooling again!"

    2016 Model X, leaking touchscreen

Today I have just noticed goo seeping out of my touch screen onto my center console. Reading other threads it appears the best solution is to upgrade to MCU2 which replaces both screens at higher resolution and other benefits. Thank you for the link to the NHTSA request to Tesla for a recall...

    Goo seeping down center console

Mongo, Thanks for your insights. I was afraid of that when you mentioned the "bubbles." This has got to be an expensive repair. I think I will just ignore it for the time being. Any thoughts on what to look for when I shouldn't ignore it anymore? All the best, Carl

    Goo seeping down center console

The top of the center screen has what seems like fluid lines. See photo. Is this what you mean by "bubbles?"

    acceleration SHUDDER

I have an early 2016 Model X (manufactured March 2016). I had the shutter described here. Over the first two years of ownership the SC replaced the front half shafts 3 times. Whatever they did the third time resolved the issue. I've since driven 50,000+ miles without any shutter at all.

    Goo seeping down center console

I have an early 2016 Model X (manufactured March 2016). Today I noticed a stream of material seeping down the passenger side of the center console. At first I thought it a spilled soft drink. I attempted to wipe it up with a damp Kleenex. But the Kleenex just stuck to it (the white stuff in the...

    MCU Failure Poll

I have a 2016 Model X delivered in March 2016, serial number 01702, 43,500 miles. My MCU1 has been giving me issues for about a year. Typically one or both screens going black at random times. Long reboots. But in general all functions work. A few weeks ago a warning came up on the driver screen...

    Used 17 MX 90 Questions

I have a 2016 MX 90D with VIN under 2000. The questions I would ask are: - Do you have service records? - Do the service records show replacement of the front axle and jack shafts (the issue was shaking upon strong acceleration) - This vehicle included free life time super charging. A very nice...

    Vibrations at ~30 mph?

I had a shudder and they replaced the half shafts. They said some shudder was normal, and after the replacement it was indeed notably reduced. But a year later I have an even more prominent shudder than originally. I get it even with very moderate acceleration now. I will complain at my two year...

    Twisted second row seat belt

I've had my MX for a year now (as of today!) and had the same issue one time after my grandkids were in the center row seats. Like VBXATL above, I pulled the strap out as far as possible, folded the strap to lay flat, then let the strap return. I then pulled it out fully once again to see if all...

    Anybody still waiting for sunshade?

I took delivery in March 23, 2016, and the sunshade arrived Oct 13, 2016. It arrived with no advance notice and included no instructions. Although it is pretty obvious how to install it. I put it up and decided it would be good for a super sunny climate, but for where I live in Northern...

    Trak 4x4 Snow Chains

    Model X: Clever Vanity Plates

With the help of several friends we came up with 100+ possible vanity plates. I then spent way too much time trying them all out on the CA DMV website. The list below all passed muster in March 2016. Available for Regular CA License Plates as of March 2016: ECTRIC ELTRICX TSLA XX TSLA YES...

    Model X: Clever Vanity Plates

    Tesla Model X Moments

I took my MX to a hardware store in Arnold, CA. It is on Hwy 4 at about 4,000 foot elevation in the Sierra Nevada mountains. Most vehicles here are trucks and 4x4 SUV's. Never seen a Tesla there. As I return from the store two guys are standing next to my MX. One well dressed guy who turned out...

Slower acceleration and vibration/loose parts? in front motor

After ten days in the Sunnyvale, CA, service center I got my MX back. Long list of repairs under warranty. Ok, my VIN is 0017XX so I'm not totally surprised. But when I went down the list I see that they replace BOTH front half shafts. Wow. I didn't have any vibration or other issues as...

How much model x range lost overnight if unplugged?

One more comment. I often leave my MX overnight without plugging in. Having it plugged in all of the time is not necessary at all. It is just Tesla's recommendation.

How much model x range lost overnight if unplugged?

The Leaf does not heat or cool its battery. Which may explain why it loses no charge over night. But your concern may be overcome by the fact that the Tesla's range is significantly more than the Leaf.

How much model x range lost overnight if unplugged?

If you read the manual it suggests always having your car plugged in when not in use. This way any energy needs are provided by the plug, not the battery. A large part of energy use when parked in very cold, or very hot weather, is keeping the battery heated in cold weather, or cooled in hot...

Fob missing somewhere inside Model X - any guesses?

I lost my key fob in my Model X and went through everything talked about here. Ultimately I found it in the center console. Tesla Large Rear Cargo Mat

You will enjoy your MX come January. It is a blast to drive. I've owned several Porsches, and the MX acceleration is WAY WAY more fun and far faster. And I just have the basic 90D. But I must admit missing the third pedal and the roar of the engine behind me.

    Experience with flat tire

Solarman004, thank you so very much. The Dropbox link worked perfectly. I'll print it out and put in the glovebox of my MX. If I ever have a flat, and face resistance for a repair, I now have a legitimate argument straight from Continental. Thank you again. And wishing you and your family a...

Improving Supercharger Availability $0.40 idle fee

One more post . . . I went to Yosemite last August. I found the Tesla destination charger (just one) behind the Awahnee Hotel. But a MS was charging so I plugged into the J1722 right next to it. Improving Supercharger Availability $0.40 idle fee

A few weeks ago I was at the Manteca, CA, charging station with eight stalls. I took the last stall and decided to sit in my MX and listen to the news. Within 10 minutes three more Teslas were waiting in a line. I'd never seen that before. I called Tesla just to let them know how congested...

    Tesla Large Rear Cargo Mat

I installed the large rear cargo mat in my MX with serial 0017XX. Obviously before F022381. It fits like a glove. Every detail around the perimeter is really impressive. I can say the same for the 6-seat middle/rear row mat and the frunk mat - both fit perfectly. Because these mats are so...
