You should report this to NHTSA !
Just got my Y. On our '15 S 70D the taillight automatic turns on the autowiper activates (law req. DRL in front).
It should be a setting that allows us to ALWAYS have the light (ex. stored in the user profile), and the car should not bug you when you leave the car
No in Denmark - after there where a public announcement by the layer/court there are now approx 450 cars. They were not allowed to used the "motorregister" (NHTSA like) register to contact all owners.
No progress, same claim "We are making the best cars, with the best software and protect the...
8 years ago : buy a Tesla with 8 years warranty. The tech is evolving so fast that in 8 years you just replace you batteri with a new one with batter range and faster charging at a much lower price.........
In reality : Buy a remanufactured battery with the same range as you old battery with...
All they can offer is a remanufactured battery with the same capacity (as you current - not as a new) - and my best guess is with chargegate = on
Put me in the line for such an offer - I will take two - NOT
Regarding MCU2 upgrade. You have earlier mentioned that updating to MCU2 in cars with no standby supply would lead to larger vampire drain. I think earlier you mentioned that this was implemented in mid '15.
My 70D S' birthday was on 3. jul 2015, has my car a standby supply - I'm considering...
Brilliant, on a roadtrip - when you know that you family will spend at least 1,5H for a lunch - you can lower the charging speed so that you can avoid idle fee. My guess is that they have stolen the idea from Tesla - us with 70/85 batteries are beta tester of this feature; Avoid stress while...
No I got:
2019.16.1.1 on the 16. may 2019
2019.16.2 on the 22. may 2019
2019.20.1 on the 11. jun 2019.
And it was with 2019.20.1 I saw slower charging speed.
On my 70D the pumps runs for exactly 3hours if I charge to a SoC over 78%.
And this is also the case if I start to charge a "cold" car from ex. 75%-80% SoC on a 11kW (only charging 10-20min)
According to ScanMyTesla the consumption is 400W/h - therefore the SoC will be reduced by 1,2kW in the 3hours
I got mine replace 2,5 year ago, with a reman.
I wish I have had access to can-bus data at that time, so that I could have compare before/after values of the batteries.
The can-bus data I can read looks like a battery that has been used for the entire 175.000km the car has driven - not the 95.000km I have driven the reman. battery
On my 70D I got my battery replaced august '17 - with the above part number. An even the battery only had driven 70.000km in may '19 - and not much Super charging done in this battery - I also got reduced SuC speed with 2019.20.1
That is just a statement of one that is replacing the chip. I guess not many chip has been investigated. But the conclusion was that it is actually how many hours the screen has been turned on, not how many KM you drive (So maybe we are lucky that we don't get Netflix, youtube and arcade...
Just to continue this off-topic.
The number of MCU that is failing is exploding right now. Here in Denmark (I guess all europe) there is 8 weeks delivery time ! One of the last persons that talk to Tesla where told - they will eventually all fail
Some have examined the chip, it is not only due...
At the current temp. the battery heater in my car turns on 10min before arrival. My guess is that 30C is target temp. Might be that lower temp will result in more pre-heating to reach 30C on arrival.
The batteri has to be - my guess - below 5C - before the battery heater turns on. I have only...
You should tell the navigation to navigate to the SuC. Then the car will automatic pre-heat the batteri before you arrive. The icon will also be visible in the App.
Attached a picture with data from ScanMyTesla.
At. 7:26:30 the heater is turned on. At that time the cell temp is 25,2C. 10min...
I have 54km to work - normal road.
When leaving (at the current temp) in the morning, my battery is approx 10C. When arriving at work the temp is approx 26C. The battery heater has not been on. So the warm comes from the drivetrain.
Another observation. When leaving in the morning nothing...
Today I charged my car from SoC 69%-80% (on a 11kW charger) I got 7,99kW. It took 45min. The cell temp went from 12C-16C, and still the pump is running exactly 3hours (3-400W).
We got our 70D sep. '15
In aug. '17 we just returned from holiday - driving 1700km directly home - and send the car to 2year/80.000km check before general warranty ended. They kept the car for 1 week to get the battery replaced. The battery I got - I was told - had better cooling then the...
I have recorded a SuC session where SoC went from 25%-62%. Outside temp. 1C. Cell temp went from 31C-37C, I could not hear the fan.
It took 31min to get 24,71kW ! Shitty charging curve, but we are not bothered by the fan
We where the only one at the SuC - a 150kW....
I'm starting to log data using ScanMyTesla and TeslaLogger.
First a description of the new behavior for charging in cold weather :
1: My car will not start to charge until the battery is approx 3,5C. Until that 2,6kW is put into the pre heater (icon is visible in the app, and the app just says...
Same speed on my 70D from sep '15 : 55% - 43kW. I was the only one charging on the SuC (16 150kW stalls) and the battery was 36C
That is the speed I have had since 2019.20.xxx
1 week before the fire : Elon Musk on Twitter
"It’s not a big deal. Charge to 90% to 95% & you’ll be fine. At 100% state of charge, regen braking doesn’t work, because the battery is full, so car is less energy efficient."
But I guess this tweet where meant to every one - except owners of...
Nice one ;-) More Australian should tweet to Elon with this request
I guess you don't have problem with to low regen/or battery refuses to charge due to low temp.........
The temp curve has been raised by 3* - In C your batteri has to be more than 23,5C (68F = 20C to get full regen. And without battery heater - and normal driving, you don't get that temp. anymore......
I have written earlier that the curve has been raised by 3C.
And you can't use the Max that the BMS is reporting. Using SMT i can see that regen. gives a max of 60-65kW
Has any of you seen the battery preheat icon in the app ?
I have not seen it yet this winter. Is there also a preheat-gate ???
I have a screen shot from feb. '18 where I can see the temp i 6C and the icon is on.
In europe 2019.40.2.2 cripples the AP due to EU regulations - might be for AP1 cars only because I guess later model already are restricted. We received an e-mail directly from Tesla yesterday explaining the changes.
A couple of hours ago 2019.40.2.3 was released - might be an correction to the...
Just to bring up my previous post again regarding the limited regen.
So yes. The temp. curve for regen has been raised by approx 3C.
And another observation: Low SoC = Low regen. High SoC = High regen. Opposite of charging speed.
A example of the regen/avg. cell temp. can bee seen here (data...
My '15 70D has the dotted line until the battery get approx. 16 C, but at that time the regen is still only 50% = 42kW. First when the batteri is approx 21C I have full regen. The highest regen I have seen is 87,5kW
Yesterday I got 2019.40.2.1, and this morning is saw that the dotted line first...
Yes the dotted line disappears at a battery temp. of approx. 15C. But at that time my 70D has only a regen of approx 43kW - out of a max. of 87,5kW (Can be seen with ScanMyTesla : "BMS max charge" - and the numbers matches the "Battery power" reading when doing regen). So it takes a bit longer...
TM Spy is IOS, and IOS has problems with most of these bluetooth OBD2 dongles. IOS only supports bluetooth 4.0, and most of them are not. You could buy a wifi model, but they are not compatible with Scan My Tesla. I did buy a cheep Android - just for the car/Scan my Tesla. That was before the...
The German developer of Teslalogger is working together with the norwegian developer of ScanMyTesla, to combine the 2.
You can see som screen shots here (of the individual cell voltage captured from ScanMyTesla): Teslalogger mit Raspberry Pi & MySql & Grafana & OSM • TFF Forum - Tesla Fahrer &...
I'm really glad to know that slow supercharging might harm the battery.....
Here is my "original" charging curve for my 70D (sep. 2015 - more info in earlier post), the new, and to compare the charging curve for a TM3 on a 350kW Ionity charger (Tesla Bjørn).
The data for the New charging curve...
S70D owner here.
My car is produced in may/2015. I got my battery pack replaced at 79.000km 2 years ago with a refurb. Now at 161.000km (=82.000km on refurb).
I have not lost range, but my supercharging speed has been reduced by approx 40%.
Using the car to drive on summer holiday I could see...
I just got mine installed. I bought it from COzero - my best guess is that it is the same set. But it don't think that mine is "slamming" when closing:
Dropbox - Video 29-04-2017 07.45.25.mov
Also they made ( I think ) a better manual, and also included some tools and clips in the box...
The latest test shows that VW is the best in class. Everybody else is poluting even more than VW: Dieselgate 1st anniversary: all diesel car brands in Europe are even more polluting than Volkswagen - study | Transport & Environment
It makes sense if the you want to put a cheap entry model on the marked.
This huge glass roof must cost a lot of money - it is unique to Tesla. Also think of the cost of replacing it.
I - personally - would not order it.
There have been a lot of post's of people complaining about DRL on the faceliftet model. Problems that where solved via FW.
So you pretty much found out youself that a easy retrofit was not possible because the LED light are controlled via CAN bus data.
But thank for trying - somebody has to try...
