    Offroad Model S?

Anyone seen any real life examples or renders of a Model S re-done as a rally car? I'm thinking something in the style of the Lamborghini Sterrato or the Porsche Dakar (or the Rally Fighter). I've seen examples of the 3, X, and Y with offroad modifications, but not an S.

FS: 2021 Model S Plaid- Blue, cream interior, CF trim, FSD, extra year warranty

What a shame. I would've bought it for $80k and I live within driving distance. Carmax will probably list it for $90k, based on their other Plaids.

2021 Model S Plaid for sale 12,421 miles, Central Florida

What percentage tint is that? Looks like the windshield tinted too - is that the same percentage as the rest?

As TLLMRRJ said, definitely a Texas A&M badge, and probably someone in Houston or Dallas. It might be worth posting these pictures / asking in the regional forum for Texas. P100Ds aren't too common around here, so there's a >0% chance that you might get a lead. Hell, if you look back through...

Starting to feel like Cybertruck is going the way of the Roadster: Vaporware

Do you know what's included in an NDA for all the levels of people who might have this information? Depending on the scope, maybe not.

Starting to feel like Cybertruck is going the way of the Roadster: Vaporware

I think you might be driving up hill both ways. I just took my wife's MY Performance on a 500 mile trip (250 miles each way) doing 75 with the a/c at 69-70 (air temp between 87-95). I made it there and back and only needed to charge once, for 50 minutes. But that was at dinner, so I didn't...

Anyone switching to a Rivian R1T after watching reviews?

I also enjoy using my X to the fullest extent. I've hauled 8 ft lumber, concrete mix, fertlizer, mulch, and dogs in my X, and it's never complained. The one thing I can't organically do with the vehicle is haul a motorcycle, which is enough for me to justify a truck.

Should I talk my wife out of an X and into a Y?

I have an older X, my wife has an almost brand new Y. Prior to her getting a Y, we only needed one car - so she's had experience driving both, as have I. I can say without reservation that she and I both believe that her 2021 Y is much better than my 2017 X. Reasoning is below; I will attempt to...

Anyone switching to a Rivian R1T after watching reviews?

As a Tesla and Rivian owner, do you regret not waiting for the Max Pack at all? Having to drive a Model X at 55 mph to make it to the next SC on cross country trips made me spring for the largest pack available on my R1T preorder, but now I'm not so sure if it's worth the wait.

    No Door Handles??

I deactivated the auto-present door handles on the X because of the issues a few here pointed out, to include auto presenting while (a) I'm in the garage working but not actually getting in the car, (b) in a packed parking lot and I'm putting groceries or shopping bags in the trunk, almost...

Anyone switching to a Rivian R1T after watching reviews?

At this point, it really just depends on which one gets to my reservation number first. A lot of my initial excitement about the CT has been dampened by the possibility of the yoke-only option and the lack of door handles (which I judge based on the poor performance of my X's auto open feature)...

For Sale: Model X 20" Slipstream Wheels and Tires (Silver) - $600

Selling a set of four OEM Model X wheels after an upgrade. Tires are pretty worn (probably about a season left), so I'm selling for the value of the wheels. I prefer buyers local to the Greater Houston Area, but I'm willing to ship at buyer's expense.

Since yesterday's update, can't change the charging limit

Sounds like this Christmas update might be more trouble than it's worth. If it makes you feel any better OP, my MX doesn't have the update and I haven't been able to set the charge limit in my car for months.

    2021.24.25.1 on MCU1

I have 2021.24.25.1 on MCU1, but it's in an X. And boy, I wish I could revert to the last version. So many issues with the vehicle as a whole since it updated a week ago. Which doesn't make sense, because the update didn't seem major.

How long between inspection and PTO? [various areas]

Thank you for posting this. We're up in Spring, and somehow we're still awaiting PTO even though our Solar + Powerwall was installed on June 1. I also got trapped by the "regular" updates. Guess I'll have to call CenterPoint today.

The cost of building a (single) Cybertruck

I guess that's true. So maybe it'd need to be the size of a mid-size pick up. Let's call it 75% instead of 1:1

The cost of building a (single) Cybertruck

This is a question for all you Sandy Munro-types out there: if I wanted to build exactly one Cybertruck, based roughly on the dimensions given at the unveiling, how much would it cost? I've seen a few different builds online. Aside from not listing the material and labor costs, they're also...

Terrible experience selling house with SolarCity/Tesla Energy panel lease on it

Well this sucks. I just started on my "transferring a Solar City lease to a house buyer" journey and thus far, my situation has been similar. How long should I wait on the "I'm closing today and I need help" line before I hang up? So far it's been 52 minutes.

    POLL: Will you buy?

It is ugly AND I will buy it. Tri-motor reservation placed. I don't think Tesla intended to make it as ugly as it is, but its ugliness does call us out. For years, people have been complaining that trucks have become parking lot princesses - loaded with all of the amenities and looks suited for...

Drilling holes in my Model X - question

Can someone tell me whether there are any electrical bits / anything besides plastic in the driver's side center console area highlighted? No need to ask why I'm planning on drilling holes there - I've seen that discussion already, and I'm not interested in repeating it here. I just need a...

Turo - anyone use it to rent their Tesla?

I used to rent it on Turo. I stopped because it was a pain to constantly have to clean it and meet people for the handoff. I had one bad experience with a renter who scraped the rear fender, but Turo paid for it in a timely manner. Other than that, it was fine. It's nice to have a built in...

    Model 3 3D Maxpider Front & Rear Floormats for sale - $500

Just kidding. Asking $120 + shipping, if out of Houston, TX area. These were used for about a year. Good condition - no rips or perforations, but the driver's side mat is a little dusty. Selling because I got rid of my Model 3. Pictures are below.

Tesla X Falcon Doors Adjustment HELP NEEDED. Restoring Tesla X P100D.

I'd recommend reaching out to Rich from Rich Rebuilds. I emailed him with a question about an X once and he was responsive and helpful. One of his projects (you can find it on Youtube) is restoring a Model X, so he may have some insight that the rest of us here wouldn't.

Tesla must not want to actually sell their inventory cars

On two separate occasions this week I've requested a call back about two different inventory vehicles. Both times a sales rep emailed me and set a time for a call back, then stood me up. I also can't seem to get in touch with anyone from the used vehicles department via phone or on the website's...

Misleading X90 for sale? Advice on how to proceed with a Used vehicle purchase?

You could possibly get creative and ask for a picture of the touchscreen menus, if you know what options are provided by the sub zero package, etc. But really, for many of the software features the best way to check is to ask for a picture of the build sheet. A possible alternative is to ask...

Misleading X90 for sale? Advice on how to proceed with a Used vehicle purchase?

One can look at the pictures and see that it doesn't have EAP. In an AP2 Tesla, the side turn signals have cameras and so do the b-pillars. That one is AP1. Edit: I'm also fairly certain that EAP hardware was only introduced in November of 2016. So if this guy bought it in August 2016, it...

Electric Pickup Roundup: Musk Says Tesla Truck 'Not Like Anything Else'

The more I look at this truck, the more the cab-over-engine design looks like the right answer, rather than the truck bed cap alternative. 1. It's been proven by a few different studies that bed caps add no aerodynamic advantage, and are actually counterproductive to fuel economy in a lot of...

Electric Pickup Roundup: Musk Says Tesla Truck 'Not Like Anything Else'

The only problem with this is that it's illegal in some states to have white light on the back of the vehicle while the car is in drive. The idea being that at night, you don't want to blind drivers behind you. I think if this were supposed to represent the back of the pick up, they would've...

Electric Pickup Roundup: Musk Says Tesla Truck 'Not Like Anything Else'

Someone on the Electrek story comments section tilted the picture about 30 degrees to the right and it looks a lot more like the Blade Runner Concept. If you look at the flat surface as a huge windshield with that light bar as the headlights, I think it makes more sense than looking at the...

    Disappointing roll-out

I can't speak for everyone else, but I wasn't too excited for the Model Y in the first place. I am in the minority, but nothing could be less appealing to me than a CUV. I knew before I even saw the Model Y that it will most likely be the only Tesla vehicle which I will never drive. I was...

Did the lack of Falcon Wing Doors dealbreaker for you?

The FWD were a PITA for Tesla to produce and are an unnecessary attention gainer in parking lots. I learned that if there was any chance I would be in a rush or otherwise antisocial, I should not put anything on the backseat. If I do, it will always start a conversation with a random passerby...

    Disappointing roll-out

Playing the role of Captain Hindsight, I think Tesla would've been better served to reveal what is the Model Y as the Model 3 back in 2016 and scrap the small sedan altogether. Then Tesla would already have a CUV on the market, sales of the Y wouldn't cannibalize the 3, and Tesla could have...

Anybody else get the feeling we'll hear about more than the Model Y on the 14th?

Anybody else get the feeling we'll hear about more than the Model Y on the 14th?

I think we're going to get an announcement about a refresh of the Model S and X along with the capacity to use V3 Superchargers at the Model Y reveal. Here's the thin evidence I'm stringing together to make this prediction: - Last year, Electrek shared "leaked documents" about the updated...

Any idea when this massive price drop will take effect for the used car market?

So what you're saying is, if we just hold onto our pre-1 March 2019 Teslas for 40 years, we'll get our FMV back?
  47. CjRichMar

Any idea when this massive price drop will take effect for the used car market?

Before you answer, I understand that the price drop is technically "in effect" as of Tesla's announcement last Thursday. That's not quite the question I'm asking. What I'd like to know is the answer to the following scenario: Buyer goes into a 3rd party dealership and sees a Model X 90D with...

Electric Pickup Roundup: Musk Says Tesla Truck 'Not Like Anything Else'

I saw this render on inside EVs that looks a lot like the Tesla version, but closer to reality in typical pick up size. If Tesla goes with something like this, I'll be another day one reservation holder

    Model X changes

Seconding what ab26 said, forums like this one and websites like Teslarati.com are probably your best bet. Since I've been visiting regularly, I've (sadly) been more informed on Tesla updates than any employee I've spoken with at a store or a service center.
