Old count was 12. I count 12 pipes. I don't see any increase in stall count.

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

My salesperson told me that Elon was going to demonstrate a NY to LA driverless trip soon. That was in early 2015 when I bought my model S. No label was given to this feat, but neverthesless, that is what the sales person told me.

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

I'll gauge FSD improvement trajectory on the improvements 12.4 brings. 12.3.4 seems to have broken some things. I had a zero intervention drive home from a restaurant last night, although it was only a 3 mile drive, it got everything right. When I drive with my wife (not using FSD, me driving)...

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

I pull forward without fsd until I can see oncoming traffic when I'm first in line. Sometimes that means going into the crosswalk when there are no walkers. 2nd or 3rd in line is different. Not sure what I do, other than try to get a view as I enter.

I'm 99% sure that's what it did to me on roads like Tx Hwy 287.

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

On my 2400 round trip to east texas to view the eclipse (luckily successful), the highway stack did beautifully on interstate highways. No pingpong, passed slower cars automatically, got out of the left lane if a faster car was approaching from behind. While on regular highways, it was like a...

Today's update: the man said 2 more weeks after I suggested 4 more weeks.
  10. tmoz

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

That's what I was thinking but to stopped doing all of the things it did well on the interstate like automatically pass someone going slower than you, or moving to the right lane to let someone pass who was going faster than you in the left lane. Also, it no longer biased its lane position to...

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

So V12.3.3 didn't fare very well in Texas for us, esp off interstates and tollroads. Many roads were being worked on where the lane lines were not well defined or were not there as they hadn't been repainted yet. That and unrestricted access to 75 mph highways was quite troublesome. The NN is...

We stayed at the Hampton only because we couldn't get two rooms at El capitan. Many restaurants were closed on Tuesday. Cattleman's had a 90 minute wait, but we wanted to give el capitan a try. Went there and were delighted. Food was great and they did a great job handling the crowd. They were...

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

Yes, it wasn't slowing down fast enough either and the police are patrolling heavily, which I think is a good thing. And these roads are not limited access either. People are doing quick motions too close to the freeway that freaks out FSD (and me sometimes too). So FSD was a nervous wreck, so...

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

On roads like hwy Tx 69 in east texas near tyler, it'll adjust for speed limit signs up to 60 mph, but when it goes to 70 mph, it ignores it. Guess it says, no way am I doing 70 mph on this road, which is very sensible, but other drivers would be unhappy if I kept my speed to 60 or 65 mph. I...

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

It's in-between a multiaccess highway and a limited access interstate freeway. Which part of the code covers it? It didn't move to the left of the lane when passing semi s, it hates the right lane and will try to move out of it. Doesn't pass a slower moving car and doesn't get out of the left...

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

Traveling SE on Texas 287 between Amarillo and Childress, the car doesn't read most speed limit signs (or they aren't programmed in), but the speed limit is 75 most of the time. The car behaves differently than when it was on I 40. I'm guessing it is treating TX 287 as not a highway. Many...

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

In Arizona, some school zones have a 15 mph limit approaching a crosswalk, but as you pass the crosswalk, there is no sign telling you that you may speed up again. People just take notice of the presence of the sign in the opposite direction and assume that the zone is lifted. FSD 12.3.3 did not...

1st drive of about 14 miles mixed between highway and surface streets. The only intervention was early on, while driving on the freeway, where the truck next to us began to swerve into our lane. My wife was driving and just did a reflex jerk of the wheel to move over. Not sure if it was...

So last night, version 2024.3.6 was installed on our model Y (2023) and we are not in the beta program. This must be the "every FSD capable car will get a month of FSD for free" program. We will try it out certainly. This morning an email arrived saying our free trial will end on April 30th. WooHoo!

To add a prequel to this, when I took delivery of my S85D in June 2015 Elon was talking about how an autonomous NY to LA drive was in the works. No talk about future hardware or special software, because why would anything better be needed? The car is starting to feel antiquated compared to our...

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

I think the most telling aspect of V12.3 will the amount of improvement we see with V12.4 over V12.3. In the past, the dot improvements have been less than impressive if I may sum it up tersely. If we are "wow"ed with the dot releases, then I think we are really on the fast track and can get...

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

At traffic lights, I try to make sure there are no red light runners when the light turns green for me, so I like to get a view of the cross traffic which does require creeping up far enough, sometimes a little further than comfortable to see around an SUV or large truck.
  31. tmoz

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

A wider release will be great! V12.3 sounds like a more capable FSD platform. With tons of feedback and hopefully tons of new training, the subsequent release could be jaw dropping.
  32. tmoz

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

Yes on Chuck. V12.3 is acing his formerly problematic scenarios. UPLs are good except when the left is clear and it heads out to the median island way too leisurely. I'm not sure what Chuck is going to focus on next, but it wont be narrow unmarked lanes, double green lights, nor (soon) UPLs.

The ten permits or so in the east valley are all awaiting crews. I too thought they would get going sooner.
  34. tmoz

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

Chuck doesn't get it until the UPLs work flawlessly, and it can handle unmarked narrow roads. So to Chuck - hats off - well done! You got Tesla to make sure it can handle a couple of the tricky problem situations. You've done your job. (Maybe it'll do U-turns now too when you get your hands on it)

So a follow up question would be does anyone know the structure of the V12 NN? How many hierarchy layers and how many weights total?
  39. tmoz

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

How do they tweak a NN release? Add a bunch of miles/incidents of special drives featuring how to do a certain maneuver correctly or how to behave in certain situations and then retrain the whole thing again? Or can they retrain certain subsets? I'm not an expert on NN, so I'm asking for info...

Supercharger - Van Horn, TX - Broadway Street

We will give El Capitan a try on the way out there. Sounds like an experience not to pass up. The chains are mostly boring and can be experienced anywhere. Quaint hotels like these are usually pretty cool, but once in awhile you get a dud. This one doesn't look to be a dud.

    Current Arizona Registration Costs

The link to the formula agrees with what we paid in "fees". ~52,600 * 0.60 * 0.028 = $884 (not sure where the extra $26 came from) Not sure why its says 1768 which is 2x 884, but we did not pay 1768

Although my German friends say it is a nightmare in Germany. Many live in apartments without the ability to charge and many homeowners have separate garages with no electricity at all. Is France that far ahead of Germany? I have no feelers out on France.

Does anyone have experience with a SolarEdge system (panels + battery) and a SolarEdge EV charger?

I'm assuming you don't have a battery (or maybe you do but it is not a solaredge battery?). Does the charger connect to the inverter at all, or just communicates with the inverter? I think their new bidirectional system would have to connect the charging station to the inverter, but I'm not...

Does anyone have experience with a SolarEdge system (panels + battery) and a SolarEdge EV charger?

I work from home most days. No net metering and cheap electricity in AZ. Solar may barely break even for me in the long run. Peak rates from Nov to April are 12 cents per kWh. 5am to 9am and 5pm to 9pm. i went solar as I wasn't happy with Russia using natural gas as a weapon. I'm having fun...

Does anyone have experience with a SolarEdge system (panels + battery) and a SolarEdge EV charger?

I have two tesla cars in the garage and I just charge them manually when the sun is shining. I have a solarEdge system (for better or worse) and have been thinking about adding their EV charger which is supposed to be able to charge the EV from excess solar. SolarEdge software is still evolving...
