I just realised that the expanded Hopwood is now the largest UK supercharger by number of stalls: 16 V2 + 20 V3 = 36 total. Exeter (32 V3) and Rugby (28 V3) have more V3 stalls and therefore presumably a higher maximum power output / greater overall charging capacity.

Yes, it looks to me like the ?12 stalls will use up some some parking bays in the existing parking area (see pin position on supercharge.info) whereas the old application was for 32 stalls located in a currently grassed area that would have required new hardstanding. Reference post from 2020...

Re: Birch, on the Superchargers app, someone added a comment this week for Birch Eastbound that the due date is now "spring 2025". No idea what the source or reliability of this statement is though. A previous comment said "spring 2024" which seemed more likely given that the stalls were built...

Sadly all V4's are open to all in the UK, without exception. Currently Moto Reading (westbound) is the only example so far where Tesla are opposite other, more expensive, 3rd party rapids. Some of the other expansions still have V3's going in but as @Epico notes the Frankley stalls pictured are V4.

Ah that makes more sense: all V4's (eight total at time of writing), unsurprisingly, are therefore open to non-Tesla's.

The recently-opened V4 supercharger at Bromley is now showing as open to non-Tesla's on the Find Us map and app. At time of writing I think all UK V4's are open to all with the exception of Pease Pottage. My tally is now 35 UK sites open to non-Tesla's.

From the photos in the Twitter thread it looks to me like 6 charger cabinets and 24 square ponies (for V3 stalls as identified by Stu). There are what look like 9 identical prefab concrete cabinet bases though.

The photo below is from the Superchargers app, confirming a supercharger expansion at the Gretna Green Welcome Break services is underway. The associated comment says 10 stall bases but I count at least 11 plus four charger cabinet bases hinting at 16 V4 if the existing 4 V2 stalls are replaced...

Luton is now on the app and Tesla's Find Us map. I forgot to add Heartlands, and with the addition of Lifton (not yet showing on the Find Us map at time of writing) the UK total is now 34.

Newmarket is available on the app, becoming the 31st UK site open to non-Teslas. I expect Luton will appear on the app soon too since it has V4 stalls (it went live yesterday). At time of writing, Luton has a Tesla only supercharger pin on Tesla's Find Us map. Newmarket doesn't yet have a marker.

Notwithstanding the planning application for Gretna Caledonia Park, the photo in this TOUK tweet shows the groundwork at Gretna services with a G4E van in the background, so it does seem plausible that both sites could be getting Superchargers...

It's good to see confirmation of progress there. It looks to me like four supercharger stalls are in place, whereas the planning drawings had eight. There aren't any more foundations visible so looks like it will be a four stall site (but plenty of other non-Tesla ultra rapids to choose from!).

I agree: I do wonder what the point of the coming soon markers is, especially as most European countries now have more-than-basic coverage for long distance travel. 13 out of 16 UK sites that have opened so far this year had coming soon markers, and almost all were opened in the target date...
