I guess I'm trying to gauge sensitivity to gentrification in our neighborhood, specifically. Housing and rental prices have been increasing significantly, but honestly, the composition of the neighborhood doesn't seem to be changing all that much.
I'm not too concerned about crime -- yes, it...
We live in a house in East New York, somewhat near the 3 train New Lots Ave station. Our block is probably a 60/40 split homeowners/renters. Our family stands out racially, and we're sensitive to making ourselves stand out even more with a fancy car.
Occasionally, we see very nice cars...
Well, this was a little unexpected. I logged in and I'm able to configure.
I'm an oddball case. Former Model S owner. Placed reservation in Sept 2016. When I placed my reservation, I lived in CA. Sold Model S around April 2017. I have since moved to NY. I updated my address when I moved...
Anyone with a car seat in their Model 3, could you please post pictures of the interior to give us a sense of how much space a car seat takes up?
Rear facing/forward facing are both appreciated.
I read something about there being two LATCH anchors. Is placing the car seat in the middle still...
Anything in particular that you want to see?
All mats were purchased in February of this year. Aside from the interior mats, they're in perfect or near perfect condition. The interior mats have typical wear that you would expect over two months.
I sold my Model S, so the following accessories are for sale.
I'm located in the Bay Area, so hoping to do local pickup around Oakland, or we can work something out.
My car was VIN 7619, in case that gives any context for any of these parts.
For sale:
1) ChaDeMo adapter. Please make me a...

I'm on EV-A and I typically charge 25 kWh every night starting at 11pm.
We have a gas dryer and no air conditioning, so our electricity use is pretty limited to begin with.
When we first had the car and the default rate plan, our bill was a little outrageous at roughly $260 for the...
I had a similar thing at 30mph and above. Do a search for "highway hum" -- a couple of posts should show. They replaced my DU under warranty. I'm too lazy to take my personal info off the service invoice PDF, but here's some copypasta for you:
Concern: Customer states: There is a whining...
I'm moving in to a new house in Oakland this week from out of state. We're having a 14-50 outlet installed in the garage.
Any chance someone in the area would let me borrow their NEMA 14-50 adapter until our goods are shipped here, on 5/31?
I will gladly trade some Model S Hotwheels/Matchbox...
Bought a CPO S60 in July/August. Reconditioned/Shipped/etc from Tampa, FL to Scottsdale, AZ in roughly 3 weeks from my deposit date. I picked it up a week after that. IIRC, communication from the DS was great for the first week after I ordered it. Then it really dropped off due to DS being...
I wonder if TM made a decision to sell all of those removed 200+ cars as "used." Maybe the margins weren't great, or they wanted to unload more as non-CPOs without making them all pristine, in addition to offering them with the 4/50k bumper-to-bumper.
Or somebody at TM fat-fingered something...
I was ruined 3 years before my MS, with a Nissan Leaf. Nowhere near as powerful, and still pretty zippy. Though I am thankful for the additional range and reduced battery degradation.
My delivery specialist was very flexible on my delivery date, even after the car arriving to the service center. And if you're getting a car that has the travel across the country, that can add up to 3 weeks depending on several factors including available room on trucks, and things of the...
I live about 400-450 miles from a service center. I sent my nearest service center an email a few days ago, and a ranger replied that he'd be in town today. I met him at a Costco, and he performed the check in 5-10 minutes.
My VIN is 7619, and I got it from the CPO site about 3 months ago. I do not have the tech package, but I do have the lighted exterior door handles and ambient lights on the interior of the doors. I probably have everything that the premium interior lighting package includes, but I haven't...
Ah, I see. Maybe New Mexico laws interfered with this policy? They're preventing a service center being built here in ABQ. I think I'm about 400-450 miles to my closest service center.
In any case, it looks like Zarasa would need to go and pick it up from a service center.
You can make a payment online if you are not financing. If financing, they like to at least see that the wire confirmation from your lending institution.
The only document I signed in ink is a Due Bill form. Everything else was a docusign electronic signature. They probably took my...
+1.
And consider getting/borrowing a Chademo adapter if it looks like there are decent QC stations when you're not going to make the next Supercharger.
This is a talk from a software conference. The talk discusses AI morality, among other things. I enjoyed the talk for entertainment value, but I like that he puts the focus on people having a discussion/"thought experiment."

I'm usually pretty friendly, but occasionally I have a crying baby or my breastfeeding wife in the car with me. Sometimes the Tesla grin cannot override the persistent squirm of an infant.
So sorry in advance, but I really love the community.
Thanks! Saved on my phone :)

And what's interesting is that they got my CPO 4-year/50k warranty correct a couple of sections above the battery/drive train warranty.
Thanks. It's been an awesome experience.
From the spec sheet:
60 kWh Model S
Solid Black Paint
Body Color Roof
19" Wheels
Tan Nappa Leather Interior
Obeche Wood Gloss Décor
It had 18.1k miles. As with all CPOs, it also had supercharging enabled and a parcel shelf. I think mine might have...
It might have to do with the age of the car (in months). Aside from options/miles, I think that they take off a certain percentage or dollar amount based on the production date. The best clue for this is VIN number.
Buying a CPO was already a stretch purchase for me. I'm an electric car enthusiast, and pulled the trigger when my LEAF lease was up. I tell people that I'll hold onto mine for as long as I can. If I can get it to go 20+ years, I think I'll be really happy.
I am 99% sure that I'll get more...
