    Quality control issues

Does Tesla have a Quality Control issue what is the measure? While I see plenty of delivery experience horror stories on social media, I would call those anecdotes and not real data unless they were measured appropriately against other brands. The "JD Power Initial Quality Survey" has been...

Fremont Factory To Reopen Today, May 8th

Its unclear from the articles if the employees were infected at work or off work. While it is the employee's responsibility to follow health and safety procedures at work, off work its clear that people are letting their masks and their guard down.

Yeah, that is not denying science. Hydroxychloroquine and other treatment drugs should be considered. We now know that hydroxychloroquine is not a good idea. Hindsight will be 20-20 on this thing. Some "science" has been released like a the Stanford anti body test was flawed, but the...

Are Elon's COVID rants affecting how you think about your Tesla?

Elon describes his politics as moderate- social liberal and fiscal conservative. That is not the same as libertarian. When you own your own business, you try and limit what is lost to taxes. Typically, the subsidies that Tesla receives is tax breaks, and Tesla is not the only company that...

Are Elon's COVID rants affecting how you think about your Tesla?

Nope. Panic is Dumb. Elon is being Elon. It does not mean that I think that his tweets are great. I wish he would keep some to himself.

    Elon wins... we all win....

Where did Musk deny science? Musk does have data on his casting plant 30 miles away from Fremont that has been operating this whole SIP. Tesla says there are no issues. Shanghai has also been mostly open for SIP in the US. China was able to stop the spread of the virus in its country, so...

Like a other commenter said, the lawsuit was about Alameda not having the authority to shut down Tesla. Here are details: About the actions costing Tesla money: Its probably better that Tesla and SpaceX making money by selling cars and launches to space then state subsidies. One way to look...

Unfortunately, unemployment benefits are for, ... well, ... unemployed. Business are not charities either. The positive thing is that Tesla already has experience operating during a pandemic on multiple continents.

Blog County Officials Approve Tesla’s Safety Plan to Resume Production in Fremont

I wonder what happens to the lawsuit now. Does Alameda now pay Tesla's legal fees? Lawsuit is challenging Alameda Counties authority to shut down Tesla. I'm not a lawyer, but it does not look good for Alameda. I'm glad that Tesla is ramping back up. Just like everyone, I hope everyone is...

    Coronavirus

If you want to be dark about a specific group, this is more likely: Millennials are a low risk, but boomers are ~70 more likely to die from the data that I have seen. So, the millennials, will probably get corvid-19 and live, pass it onto boomers that will die. Millennials will just inherit...

Blog Musk Says Tesla May Prefer Its Tented Assembly Line

After rethinking removing the doors makes sense because they need to fit check the doors before they paint. Perhaps the paint matches better too. Perhaps the step could be removed with modern 3D scanning or other technical solutions, or they could simply remove the doors.

Tesla made 6000 Model 3's in June

How many Model 3 lines does Tesla have? If the Model 3 line is up 20 hours a day for 7 days a week that is 1.8 minutes per car for 5000/week. That does not sound so bad. I wonder what rework rate is now?

Blog Musk Says Tesla May Prefer Its Tented Assembly Line

Is removing the doors regular? Seems like a lot of handling and risk of damage. If door assembly becomes a parallel sub-assembly, then why not have a door paint line eliminating the instal and un-install steps?

This should shed Tesla's unfounded reputation for catching fire.

Thanks for posting something with some data. "Tesla claims that gasoline powered cars are about 11 times more likely to catch fire than a Tesla.... ... That works out to five fires for every billion miles traveled, compared to a rate of 55 fires per billion miles traveled in gasoline cars."...

This should shed Tesla's unfounded reputation for catching fire.

I would like to revisit this topic now that there has been a few Tesla fires recently. Yes, the media has overblown the fires in click bait fashion and the media never mentioned how common a gasoline fire are Can anyone put together the comparison of the rate of fires for Tesla's, EVs and...

    Return to Singapore

Any resolution on this? I was listening to the Oil And Gas This Week podcast and they mentioned that Tesla got fined by Singapore, but did not mention that it was contested by Tesla and they need to check there numbers. To revisit the math, if the energy used by the charger is really 444...

Model 3 Signature Edition - guess the price

There are some people out there that say Tesla will never hit $35,000 for the Model 3, even when it is stripped down. They point to the price increase of the Roadster and Model S. On another forum there is a lot of calling out of the "affordable electric car", saying that Tesla is just Smoke...

    CARB and Tesla

I'm new here and I'm searching for what Tesla is selling ZEV Credits for these days and how much or how little battery swap has effected that. I understand that ZEV Credits are lowering in market value since other automakers are selling their own EVs. What percentage of Tesla ZEV credits get...
