    Tracking energy usage

I've found some older posts where people used spreadsheets to track their per charge, monthly, and lifetime energy, but I am curious if there is an iOS and Android app that makes this easier. I'd be a bit surprised if there wasn't since there are so many apps for tracking gas mileage.

    Never ending Supercharge?

Wouldn't the concern doing this overnight be that it would sit at 100% too long? I totally understand not doing it on a road trip because it is a huge waste of time.

    Never ending Supercharge?

From what I've read, and after talking to someone that knows quite a bit about all of this, it is balancing the batteries and adjusting algorithms. There are threads about this, but by letting it sit and having them balance out the car will know more and you will see a very small increase in...

Security in the Connected Car era... Jeep remotely victimized

"Must come from Tesla" is pretty loose though because without air-gapped signing there's no guarantee of that. The credentials for VPN were on the SD cards so just by being a Model S owner they can try to attack the VPN server and the infrastructure behind it, which could let them push bad...

Does Tesla have any anti "Hacking" software to prevent a hack on the car?

There was a webkit vulnerability that was remotely exploitable http://www.wired.com/2015/08/researchers-hacked-model-s-teslas-already/ As someone that works in security I was bothered to hear that they don't sign their firmware. As advanced as the cars are a simple RSA verification should be...

Keeping your ChargePoint card with your key fob

In the event I am not the only person that wants to keep their ChargePoint card with their key, but hates putting it on the keychain. If you have a Silicone FobPocket you can cut the card and slide it under the bottom of the key and it isn't going to slide out. The RFID is in the general area of...

Looking for community input on Model S Options

I quoted the release from the company that designed the system. I found this article though that explains how a passive crossover would impact the sound How to choose a crossover a quote with a component passive crossover (not sure if Tesla is using inline crossovers)

Looking for community input on Model S Options

I've had my P85D for a couple weeks and I've driven a low number (24xxx) P85+ loaner that had different options so I will give my opinions based on that experience. I'm hugely sensitive to how cars feel after renting dozens and dozens and owning several. Long, but I hope this is helpful Dual...

Does Tesla have any anti "Hacking" software to prevent a hack on the car?

It isn't a fallacy, it has been proven that touchID could be bypassed and using the known (non harmful) methods has probably been done. I never like mentioning this, but since it came up... The threat model is different. When you are talking about a small mobile device or something that can...

Earthshaking news out of Fremont today! (Earthquake)

Security in the Connected Car era... Jeep remotely victimized

    Does the $5k P85D upgrade get you a ludicrous P85D or a ludicrous P90D?

I haven't read every post or tweet, but from what I have read there was a comment in January that top speed would go to 155 and performance unseen by anyone outside Tesla would be added. The update in April did decrease the time to 3.1s so technically performance was improved and until that...

    Disappointed with sound system...

One thing I noticed when I got mine was that day of delivery the audio system is bad regardless of what you get. A couple days of use and the speakers start flexing better and the sound improves. Is the Premium Audio Worth the upgrade?

My front speakers have a lot of bass. Definitely not equivalent to having a sub, but they sound way better than a lot of cars I've been in. I haven't had any firmware updates on mine since I just got it, so it's definitely a non-software improvement. I definitely debated getting it and $2500...

My tire is broken, who can tell where I can buy good price tire for Tesla Model S

As others mentioned try tirerack.com or Tesla. Neither should have a problem providing you with 10 tires, but if you are shipping from the US I think you'll have trouble getting them for less than 2000 RMB. Most of the good tires for 21" wheels on tirerack are over $350 (2174 RMB). Depending on...

    Conditioning battery

This has probably been covered somewhere, but I can't find a thread about it or the thread I originally saw it suggested. Is the Premium Audio Worth the upgrade?

I picked up my P85D with UHF on Wednesday and when I first got in an listened to music over bluetooth I was completely unimpressed and so was my audiophile friend that was with me. Help me justify a P85D instead of 70D ($8k difference)

This is the video I was talking about. At 2:30 the RS7 has a slight lead before you hear the exhaust and doesn't exactly blow the doors off the P85D. 20s later at 3:00 you can barely see the RS7, but the 0-150 time of the P85D is 35s so that gap is way too big for a high speed start. If the P85D...

Help me justify a P85D instead of 70D ($8k difference)

I don't know that the peak HP difference is minimal. Of course I haven't put either on a dyno at that speed to find out, but ~100hp in the rear motor alone isn't minimal. Putting the P85D vs 85D aside because I totally understand that you wouldn't get the P85D again given where you drive and I...

No EV rebate on Model X if you're rich in California or live in Georgia

Given that $2500 is only $35/mo over a 72 month loan probably not. But at the same time each location is different.
