Tesla bans Stewart Alsop from buying Model X

Prepare to be surprised then. There's no way he'll mention trivialities like this on an earnings call.

    Movie Tomorrowland: TESLA appearance

Thats referring to Tesla the person. Within the lore of the movie, Nikola Tesla is one of the founders of Tomorrowland (along with Edison, Verne and Eiffel). So the station is named after the man. Towards the end of the movie you see some people in a car factory and it looks a bit like Tesla...

Long-Term Fundamentals of Tesla Motors (TSLA)

re: Why Autopilot: Elon's view is that within about 10 years any car that can't drive itself will be seen as a quaint piece of nostalgia. So in his mind 'Car' and 'Self Driving Car' are the same thing. So Tesla start working on it. But due to their software/Silicon Valley approach and the...

Tesla bans Stewart Alsop from buying Model X

Tam your Marine example HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH LAW and your McDonald's example also has NOTHING TO DO WITH LAW. DO YOU UNDERSTAND? I'm writing in caps because previous people said the same things to you and you ignored them. I'm hoping the caps will help.

Tesla bans Stewart Alsop from buying Model X

If you look at Stewart Alsop's twitter feed, he's been tweeting and re-tweeting this stuff at elon for ages. Whenever some new clickbait place takes up the story he re-tweets it again. If you look through his medium feed its full of him complaining about his BMW and his Apple whatever. If this...

Tesla bans Stewart Alsop from buying Model X

Wired, April 2004: http://www.wired.com/2004/04/bust/ So they have prior history: Alsop bailed on funding Elon's X.com at the last minute. That kind of speaks for itself. Elon did the right thing here, the guy is a whinger. No-one else needs to worry about getting blacklisted unless they...

Is it too soon or too late to ask about a front lic. plate

Yes in Europe a front plate is mandatory so Teslas must be delivered with the bracket I presume.

    Model X Factory Santa's Sleigh

Until I zoomed in I thought that might be Elon in the Santa costume. Bit disappointed. Surely he's not that busy?

    X Off Road

It actually says 150kw, so they might be talking about the power output rather than the total capacity.

    Software License Agreement

Interesting. I'm pretty sure they wont be very happy if you do try reverse engineering. Perhaps they would get you via the warranty e.g. perhaps they would count it as 'abuse' or 'improper operation' and void your warranty. A Tesla without a warranty is not much use. Plugging in an ethernet...

Remind me of this old thread: Successful connection on the Model S internal Ethernet network - Page 12 Someone posted a photo of the 'no reverse engineering' clause: Successful connection on the Model S internal Ethernet network - Page 12

    Production X Configuration Has Begun!

Note: chadc4s is asking about the new 5 seat config I dont think anyone has answered your question properly yet. It seems possible to me that to save money on the 5 seat config, the seats might not move at all. Why put in all the motors to move the seats around if there is no 3rd row? That...

Seals still difficult after a year?

It was pretty clear that he was talking about issues with suppliers, not an engineering issue. They have a door seal, its tested and it works. The problem clearly is that a supplier (or suppliers) who was supposed to supply (presumably) many thousands of the seals is having problems. Or one of...

I can't believe this thread is still going.

Reactions to Model X reveal event

Every rock gig I've ever been to started late, was crowded and had rude security staff. And expensive drinks and crap food. Perhaps they were going for a rock-n-roll vibe. Also, rock gigs often end with too many people trying to crowd into one car.

    Where is the 70D?

Rumours are its more likely to be a 75D or 80D, base price around $80k (someone wrote about talking to one of the engineer during test ride at the event)

Reactions to Model X reveal event

They don't need to do better in their presentations, thats the thing. They make awesome stuff and then their very knowledgeable superstar CEO explains it in a slightly un-polished but entirely geeky way and then their very clued up consumers can see beyond the lack of presenting polish and...

So what happens when multiple X's park next to each other?

I bet the X's have been programmed to 'high five' each other if they are parked near each other. (But seriously: When you're parked next to someone else, you take turns to open your doors. Thats how its been forever)

Bonnie's Xcellent Adventure w/X Sig 2 - Config, Delivery, Roadtrip

I was hoping to see Bonnie pick up an X. Just six founders though apparently.

    Base price

There will be a 70D at some point presumably? Or would it have too small range? A Model X 70D would be (presumably) $80,000 before incentives.

New renderings of storage space and 2nd row seats! (9/15)

In this photo with the bike, it looks to me like the 2nd row seats are in their normal position (i.e. could have people sitting in them). Is that everyone else's interpretation?

Model X not being shown until delivery

Yeah I think he meant 'delivery' in the project management sense - you do a load of design and testing work, then you deliver a product to market. So by 'delivered' he meant 'all finalised and ready to go'.

[Busted] Model X configuring in July 2015

What he actually said was the Model X is "not going to be shown until it is delivered" and people have read a lot into that, imagining the first few hundred deliveries to end customers being done in complete secrecy etc. But I don't think that's what he meant, because it doesn't make sense to...

Model X mules show signs of a new spoiler?

Maybe its a way of attaching a bike rack to the back of the car: flap lifts up, there's some connectors underneath you can attach the bike rack to. Flap folds away when not needed.

Model X questions at the June 2015 Shareholders Meeting

Thats interesting. The video stream didn't show the slide! Still, I think the words he actually said might be more significant than (what I presume is) a re-used slide from a previous presentation. I'm in the camp that thinks another delay is on the cards, and that significant numbers might not...

Model X questions at the June 2015 Shareholders Meeting

Lets look at what he actually said: "Expecting to begin our first deliveries [of Model X] in probably about 3 or 4 months" (see video of the event ... at the 21m27s mark) As a software engineer I'm used to parsing (and also constructing) these kinds of sentences about delivering things. Note...
