Yeah I think he meant 'delivery' in the project management sense - you do a load of design and testing work, then you deliver a product to market. So by 'delivered' he meant 'all finalised and ready to go'.

What he actually said was the Model X is "not going to be shown until it is delivered" and people have read a lot into that, imagining the first few hundred deliveries to end customers being done in complete secrecy etc. But I don't think that's what he meant, because it doesn't make sense to...

Maybe its a way of attaching a bike rack to the back of the car: flap lifts up, there's some connectors underneath you can attach the bike rack to. Flap folds away when not needed.
