A 10 minute Survey of Tesla Model S Owners

I got to the Demographics section and had to quit the survey as I don't live in the US and there wasn't an option to select another residence.. Good luck though.

    What's your 90%?

I've been given a loaner for the week that is a year old and has 15,000 miles on the clock. The 90% appears to be 215 Typical (UK/EU Calculation, Range Mode On), compared to my 4 month old F pack battery at 220 Typical with Range Mode.

Ver 7 Throttle Response - RWD Model S

I'd mirror other comments here as I've also found the acceleration to be buttery smooth. This is great for comfort, not so great for when I actually want to drive abit aggressive. Would love to see a 'Sport' mode for RWD that allows me to change the throttle response.

    Thinking of ordering a model S - moving from a BMW 330

I came from a 630i and 330d. What I miss the most is how nimble the 330d is when cornering, although I only have an S85 you may find the 85D much more secure in the turn. The acceleration and comfort is far superior to either the 6 or 3 series IMO. I don't miss the firm suspension or the...

Insurance quotes for the Tesla MS in the UK.

Aman, did you try Home & Legacy? They were the original recommended insurer for Model S when it first launched in the UK. I got a reasonable quote from them despite living in Cranford at the time (your postcode tends to bump the premium)! You would also need to get Class 1 Business Cover if...

Insurance quotes for the Tesla MS in the UK.

Home & Legacy bundled in a product similar to gap-insurance, although generally don't fall for the extra add-ons if you can help it. Bog standard Fully Comp is all you'll ever need in most cases.

    Model S accessories list (UK)

The boot rubber mats are essential I found, especially if you feel the need to lug around things like lawnmowers or anything outdoorsey. My advice would be to spring for the interior rubber mats too, as the default ones don't look like they can handle a British winter.

Smart Air Suspension in the "real world"

You will need to teach the car where the suspension needs to be raised - so the first time you're travelling to a new location or pulling into your driveway you'll need to keep the Suspension screen open and make sure you're travelling <35mph for the High setting. I believe Very High is <20mph...

What should my ideal charge percentage be?

It's easy to get confused reading this thread, but I think I can be confident that keeping the battery in the 50% +/- 10% range is ideal. How you achieve this is down to your daily requirements. As an example, I use 30% of charge for my daily driving (65 miles) so I settled on 80% for my...

Insurance quotes for the Tesla MS in the UK.

I got quotes directly from LV, Direct Line and Home & Legacy. They wanted £2500, £1900 and £1300 respectively. H&L are the recommended UK insurer as they don't require you to install a separate tracker, for example.

    What's your 90%?

Thank you! This would explain the weirdness in figures I'm seeing. 308 miles is my 100% charge when I selected 'Rated' from my settings and have range-mode on. Switching to 'Typical' gives me 246 with range-mode on. The energy graph also has an 'Ideal' reading which is averaged based on my...

    What's your 90%?

My rated range shows 308 for 100%, which seems about right. Perhaps the typical calculation varies depending on the driving style?

    What's your 90%?

    S85 with 2230 miles 90% typical = 219-222 100% typical = 246 Battery pack revision F

Tips for destination charging at budget hotels in london

I would suggest scouting Map of charging points - Find UK locations - Zap-Map live for charge points around the location you wish to stay. London has quite a few EV bays but you may need a Source London or Ecotricity RFID card to use them. After having a quick look myself in the area you...

Change to charging cables delivered with UK cars

Just thought I'd chime in to say that I picked up my Model S yesterday and it came with a UMC cable only, but they kindly threw in a Mennekes type 2 (non Tesla branded one), with the justification being that my order was during the transition phase. I also asked to have a CHAdeMO adapter at...

Your DS: how much info did you get?

My UK DS is Stefan, so speaking from experience I know he's pretty unavailable most of the time. Good luck with yours if you have a different one.

Your DS: how much info did you get?

Also suffering from a MIA DS, which is a real shame as so far this has been the only chink in the whole test-drive to order phase. It does make you feel a little in the dark, however, as you're never quite sure you have 100% of the information you could have if you were kept up to date.
