According to a Facebook post (with picture), the transformer and meter are now on site.

I was there Sunday. No change. Empty transformer pad. Didn’t take pictures because they would look the exact same as the pictures that were shared months ago.

As of 7/15 no transformer or meter installed yet. Also worth noting that there are also 4 ChargePoint Level 2 chargers on the site as well.

Looks like trenching done and conduit for cabling is in place. Tesla equipment is on site.

Transformer installed. However the cables on the stalls are still cut. I guess now we are just waiting on Tesla to repair the cabinets and activate the site.

Did a drive-by this afternoon. I was pressed for time and couldn’t stop to take any pics. Very little progress (if any) since last picture update. Hopefully now that spring is here construction picks up some speed.

Excited to hear that Tesla is looking into Boone. I really hope to see a SuperCharger somewhere in Boone someday. Also - Blowing Rock or Lenoir would be great as well.

Just did a drive by of the site. Although there is a ton of heavy construction going on due to the hotel remodel, I did not see any Tesla branded materials on site yet. They could be hiding away in one of the various shipping containers on site though. Some of the construction going on here is...

I was in the area today. I drove around the Lisbon Landing parking lot and didn’t see any obvious signs of construction. I was pressed for time so I didn’t drive around the whole parking lot though.

I don’t think this one is dead yet. Tesla is selling cars much faster than they can construct SuperChargers, and the more charging locations they have along the heavily travelled 95 corridor the better.

yes. There are 2 big white SuperCharger cabinets. Each appears to control 4 stalls. These are “v3” chargers but apparently there is only enough power coming from the grid to get each cabinet up to about 600 kW, so the stalls are being limited to 150 kW (which explains why Tesla’s website lists...

Showed up in my nav today as "Temporary closure". I was in the area, so I stopped there about 30 minutes ago. Tesla tech was onsite. He was able to power on the left four stalls (the same ones that were on the other day) and said he was gonna try to get the right four stalls turned on. I...

According to Tesla’s website, they are only 150kW. I wonder if that is a typo though. They look like v3 cabinets.

Stopped by today. 4 stalls were lit up and 4 were still off. Nothing was numbered. I did successfully charge in one of the lit stalls. Maybe the guy who was turning it on turned the first 4 on and then took a lunch break before turning on the other 4.

I think it's a really good sign that the pedestals are installed already. Several other locations in the northeast were waiting months for pedestals to arrive on site and be installed.

Stopped by today. No change since yesterday’s pic. Stalls still are not numbered. Some are bagged. It is getting close though. Since the meter appears to be on, I am assuming the town and utility company inspections are complete. Probably just waiting on Tesla to turn on their equipment and do...

Typically, the construction process averages 6-9 months, but sometimes can take well over a year. Most of the delays are caused by the town inspections and the utility company. They are simply beyond Tesla's control.

Stopped by and drove around the Dunkin' Donuts parking lot. No signs of construction yet. Also didn't notice any markings on the pavement.

Odd location — not exactly just off the Merritt or 95. I was hoping the Stamford location would be just off 95 so it can be a better alternative to Darien, due to icing/overcrowding. I was hoping for either the Stamford Town Center or the Fairway Market parking lot.

Why not? The sites would serve different routes. Waterbury serves 84, but is not convenient for 91/15.

Stopped by Waterbury again this evening. The meter, transformer, and switchgear have all been installed. The fence surrounding the SuperChargers and switchgear has also been removed. We are most likely just waiting on final inspections to take place before the site goes live. In theory, this...
