When we see "V3" and "V4" in supercharge.info that's referring to the pedestals, not the charger cabinets. They've been working on some changes that allow for more details, some of which which rolled out recently. I suspect we'll have to wait until V4 cabinets get deployed to see how those get...

Drove past today on the way to the dentist. V4 pedestals, all but two are installed (the remaining ones are still on a pallet). Bruce.

Without disputing any of the above, the Palladium Model X (2022 and newer) lose standard turn signal and gear selector stalks. For me that makes switching between the X and, well, any other car a bit jarring. Bruce.

The trip planner on the Tesla web site is IMHO more of a marketing tool to show the feasibility of long-distance EV travel, than an actual mechanism I'd want to rely on for trip planning. Bruce.

Pictures of sites under construction are hugely helpful because they don't rely on the poster's interpretation as to what the current state actually is. Some people think "it's done" when they see posts and cabinets in place, but a lot of times that last step of getting the utility transformer...

My S85D (AP1, MCU1) went into the service center this past weekend for the first time since 2021 (to change headlight bulbs and work off some minor recall items). While there they updated its software from 2022.8.10.16 to 2022.8.10.17, which as far as I can tell only changed the "telltale" font...

Some of us paid $700 to go from the yoke to steering wheel, installation and new airbag included. Might have been some sales tax in there but $700 was the price in the online store. Bruce. PS. I got to keep the old yoke minus the airbag.

No. The car software and app software are independent. Bruce.

On the Model S and Model X you can (at least in theory) switch from yoke to wheel and vice versa. There has not, in the last 2+ years, been an option offered by Tesla to add stalks to the Palladium Model S/X or remove stalks from older S/X. Note this thread is about the steering wheel retrofit...

Thanks, I think I'll pass. My charging situation is a little complex (2 charging spaces, 3 plug-in cars) and I'm too lazy to figure out how their algorithms relate to my various needs and constraints. At least with the other solar+storage credit, I don't need to do anything substantially...

Stupidly I just realized that of course they're likely to see more errors on a wireless radio link than a wireline network (in the latter case we basically assume it's zero). So...would there still be 15% packet loss at an offered load of 10Mbps? Or 40Mbps? Put another way how much of the packet...

Sorry, I was in a workshop all day. :) Starting with MTU stuff... I'm assuming that the whole path (including the cool Starlink bits) at least supports a full-sized Ethernet frame. Old versions of iperf3 used to send 8K UDP packets by default, which would get chopped into Ethernet-sized...
