    Supercharger - Mt Gilead, OH

What a lovely Christmas present! This location is almost exactly midpoint between my house and my parents'. It could not be more perfectly situated for me.

    Ohio Superchargers

The Supercharger in Mt. Gilead just opened! Mt. Gilead Supercharger | Tesla This is literally the perfect supercharger for me, as I make the drive to and through Columbus from Cleveland all the time.

    Firmware 7.0

Installing right now. S85D in Cleveland, Ohio, vin #816xx I hope it doesn't take 2 hours or I'm going to be REALLY late for work. Edit: Update took the 1:45 that it said it would. Time to go play!

Who is going to try out autopilot?

What's the average age of a Tesla Model S buyer? It's an expensive car. Expensive cars are typically bought by older people. Older people are typically more cautious. ergo, QED, ipso facto, or something.

Vibration at 3-4 mph at the end of regenerative braking

I called about this issue this morning and the Service Advisor said "wait for the software update". You mean the software update that is currently being downloaded? "Why yes", she said. How convenient!

Will the second row seats fold flat? If so, how?

Perhaps the seats being shown in the screenshots we've all seen are the Model X's equivalent of the Executive Rear Seats, which also don't fold flat.
  7. B

Will the second row seats fold flat? If so, how?

I'm 100% sure they won't do this. There's no way that they would expose the seating surface to cargo loads.

How Much Would You Pay for a Premium Interior?

Nothing. A premium interior is not high on my list of required amenities. I am quite happy with my premium technology vehicle with a nice, basic, spartan interior. I didn't even spring for Alcantara or leather.

Warning: Whispbar Roof Rack no longer compatible with new Model S pano

I've noticed that when going through a touchless car wash, the rack mount covers tend to get flipped open by the waterjets. I wonder if this update is to address that too.

Adventures in Lego building - my Tesla logo and my friend's 2/3 scale Supercharger

I can't speak for the supercharger, but for my logo I built it by printing out a large scale copy of the logo on a wide format plotter and and just duplicating it on the paper to that size. As for pieces, Probably 10,000-ish, and about 2-3 weeks work.

Adventures in Lego building - my Tesla logo and my friend's 2/3 scale Supercharger

The top of the T is attached with some clear bricks in two locations, about 2/3 of the way out on each bar. You can't see them because they blend into the background. As for piece count, for the T I'd estimate around 5000. For the Supercharger I have no idea, I don't remember asking the builder.

Adventures in Lego building - my Tesla logo and my friend's 2/3 scale Supercharger

So I built a roughly 3 foot tall model of the Tesla Logo out of Lego and displayed it at a Lego show in Chicago last weekend. My friend Robert, coincidentally and entirely without my knowledge, built a 2/3 scale supercharger to display at the same show. They make for a very nice picture...

Is Tesla using Ocean Freight to the East Coast?

My delivery to Cleveland came by train to Chicago, where it was offloaded and trucked from there. It took about 3 weeks all told from when its build was completed to when I picked it up - a week waiting for a train, a week on the train, and then a week getting offloaded in Chicago, trucked, and...

    Firmware 6.2

I got the update pushed out to me this morning and installed it after lunch, and it seemed like the android app connected a lot faster than it usually does when I fired it up to pre-cool the car prior to leaving work. Has anyone else noticed that?

Huh. This happened to me today as well. Cancelled the routing and redid it and it cleared up.

Right steering wheel button toggle Slacker stations

Absolutely! I've only had my Tesla for a day and I'm already aggravated at how difficult it is to switch between favorites, both in Slacker and in XM. In both cases, the scroll wheel should absolutely switch between favorites, not toggle their favorites status on and off. Toggling is an...

    Tesla moments

After just slightly more than 12 hours of ownership, I already got my first "guy in traffic behind you taking a picture of the back of the car" moment, while leaving my kids' school parking lot after dropping them off this morning. Hah.

Ahhhh Please help with color option

I just picked up my multicoat red S85D yesterday. That color is fan-freaking-tastic. If you want to be eye catching, then I highly recommend it. I've seen it look bombshell lipstick red, magenta and even a deep deep orange (during sunset) based on the light, in less than 18 hours of ownership.

    Ordered S85 3/13/15 - Let's track this thing out!

Christ on a pogo stick this car's acceleration is otherworldly. I'm coming out of a similarly powerful car (A Cadillac CTS-V Wagon), but the acceleration here is so hard and so instantaneous it feels like you're being teleported. No downshifting, no hesitation, just push the go pedal and end...

    Ordered S85 3/13/15 - Let's track this thing out!

Makes me wonder just how busy the store your delivery was going to is. That's the only thing I can think of as to why it's sat for so long - they don't have room at the store for it due to other deliveries ahead of you?

Tracking Model S 85D Delivery Thread

Seriously? Wow. Mine's getting offloaded from the truck as we speak. I'll pick it up tomorrow. Someone in another thread was saying that when getting deliveries in between Chicago and Cleveland (he was in Michigan), that the Cleveland store is far more preferable due to backlog in Chicago...

    Wiki Model S Delivery Update

It will have taken my car 15 days from its completion in production to show up in the Cleveland store, assuming it actually makes it there for my pickup on Wednesday, as my DS has stated it would. Waiting for the train is agonizing!

    Ordered S85 3/13/15 - Let's track this thing out!

Well, my DS says the car will make it to Cleveland tomorrow, with my delivery date confirmed for May 20th. So exactly 1 month from production start to delivery. Longer than I'd hoped, that's for sure.

Tracking Model S 85D Delivery Thread

I just got my Vehicle Purchase Agreement, train buddy, and it looks like they think I'll get my car on Wednesday. Considering it will have been exactly 1 month from when my car entered production until I (probably) receive it, my face is just slightly sadder.

    Ordered S85 3/13/15 - Let's track this thing out!

My DS just told me that he's pretty sure that Cleveland cars are unloaded in Chicago too, and trucked from there. So it looks like my trucked car and your trucked car are leaving the facility at roughly the same time. It's just that mine has a 5 hour longer drive to get to me. Bummer on the...

    Tracking P85D delivery thread

Yeah that's a standard thing. When production is done it seems to revert to production queue, and then within a day goes to transportation. It happened to me, as well as a lot of other people.

    Ordered S85 3/13/15 - Let's track this thing out!

Hey THX1139, you should be happy to know that our train has reached the BNSF Logistics auto unload center in suburban Chicago. I suspect your car is being unloaded (or has been already) and will be trucked up to your store today or tomorrow. Mine has another day on the train and will probably...

    Ordered S85 3/13/15 - Let's track this thing out!

I never asked why the car was delayed in production. I'll probably never know. Odds are something failed in inspection so it had to go back through the production line. But yeah, now it waits for the train. There is a major automotive switching yard just outside of Cleveland (thanks to...

    Ordered S85 3/13/15 - Let's track this thing out!

This sucks. My DS just told me that he doesn't think the car's going to make it to Cleveland by this weekend. 10 days in production, and now 2 weeks+ in transit - probably over 3 weeks in transit by the time it gets to me. :( People are getting their cars 5-6 weeks after ordering, and I...

    Wiki Model S Delivery Update

My DS is out of the office today so I can't ask him where my train is. I'm not sure they're the same train though. It doesn't make sense to go to Ohio through Texas. I'd think they'd be on the Union Pacific line through Nevada/Utah/Colorado and northeast towards Chicago. I'm sure more than...

    Wiki Model S Delivery Update

Yes. My car was put on the train after about a week of sitting in transit, waiting for a train to fill up. It's been on the way for 4 days now. My build was completed on April 28th, and the DS told me that it was in California still, but heading my way, as of 5/5. He told me I was still on...

    Wiki Model S Delivery Update

Cleveland's DS is brand new. He's definitely not proactive with contacts, but he will respond to my emails. My guess is because of that, the Columbus store is still swamped - they haven't gotten the workload split up quite yet.

    Ordered S85 3/13/15 - Let's track this thing out!

So apparently, per my DS, my car just got put on the train. It hasn't even left California yet :( 10 days in production, and now 8 days in transit, and it's still on the west coast. Harrumph.

What Swag did Tesla give you at delivery?

I was told I had "a small gift" waiting for me after I placed my order, but I never actually got back to the store to claim it. It's inconveniently located for me, about 45 minutes away. Next time I will be there is when I pick up the car, so I shall hopefully get nicely swagged then.
  40. B

Red or Blue or something else?

I was faced with the same decision as you. I like the new blue much better than the old blue, but I still wish it were brighter, like the Opulent Blue Metallic of my current Cadillac. I went with red because I wanted a bright, vibrant color and the MCR was basically my only option.

in production! production time vs. delivery question

My car took spent 10 days in production. It just emerged today. My DS says it'll take as long as 2 weeks to get it to Ohio via train. Can any other midwest/east coast buyers corroborate the cross-country shipping time?

    Ordered S85 3/13/15 - Let's track this thing out!

And FWIW, mine just changed in status, from being built to entering the production queue. I went backwards! :( And edited. It now shows as production complete, in transit. Sweet!

    Ordered S85 3/13/15 - Let's track this thing out!

9 days ago. It changed status on April 18th. My DS says it should take about 3 weeks from entering production to arriving in Ohio, but seeing other people's cars move out of production in just a couple of days is disheartening.

    Ordered S85 3/13/15 - Let's track this thing out!

Man, my order is almost the same as yours - subtract out Smart Air and add in Premium Sound, and everything else (textile seats, red paint, everything) between your car and mine is identical. Yours was ordered a few days after mine and went into production at the same time. But mine's still...

    Ordered S85 3/13/15 - Let's track this thing out!

My car is still in production limbo. Harrumph. My DS said it should be built by the end of this week. My target is a May 9th delivery. I hope I can meet it.

    Can't get one yet?

The lack of Superchargers on I-77 in West Virginia is a huge hole. I don't understand why a coal producing state like West Virginia is so anti-electric. Electric cars means power generation in coal fired power plants all around the region. That's good for business!

    Wiki Model S Delivery Update

S85D Vin #816** went into production for me on Saturday, 4/18. Ordered 3/12, confirmed 3/19. My delivery specialist thinks it'll be built some time this week, then 1-2 weeks for transit to Ohio. The dashboard first said late May, then May. It looks like Early May is likely. Groovy!
