So I pay sales tax on the car when I purchase it new from Tesla and if I turn around and sell it to someone else with under 100miles in it then they have to pay a simialr sales tax? In this case around $13k?

Sorry, didn't mean to mislead anybody, I only meant as a private sale there was no dealer type taxes or fees that would be paid to me.

It's a private sale, technically a used vehicle but less then 100 miles on it.

Just to clarify, this would be to trade my performance model S P85D for a NON-PERFORMANCE model X. I am located in Alberta, Canada.

If you read my post carefully I did not say trade for a “performance” model x, I’m expecting to trade for a “regular” model x 75D or 90D, I believe that is a very fair trade.

Sorry but so should have mentioned I’m in Canada, the market is much different and your example is extreme, an X 90D with high KM is on par with my P85D. Do you have an X and interested in this trade? If not then why are you commenting?

MSRP on the 2015 P85D is about $110k. MSRP on a a 2017 90D is about $90k. Depending on km it could be an even trade.

I got my P85D in March 2015, have 22k on it so far, initially 90% showed 365km and now 90% shows 358km these are with Range Mode off. I'v been driving it Hard with constant launches when I can not babied at all, pretty impressed with degradation so far.

I tried Auto-close as well yesterday (just once) and it didn't work, the auto-open did, ill try resetting the position today and see if that kicks it in.

I had about 12,000 miles on my summer tires when I changed them out, the fronts were at 5/32 and the rears were at 6/32 so there just about toast. I figured about 16,000 miles per set, I drive pretty aggressively launching just about every chance I get.

Insane always on, I tried Sport mode for highway drives but didn't notice much of a difference from Insane mode in highway drives so Insane is always on.

I'v used it around town and on a short highway trip and it worked freakishly well! There are things it trys to do like follow a car through a sharp turn (in the city low speeds) then gives up half way through and alarms so you have to be careful in situations like that.
