Maybe really dumb question.... How do you know when you need new suspension? 2015 85 RWD (not the upgraded air suspension they offered at the time)

I did all of my door handles, and even door latch. But the Window Regulator I let Tesla Ranger do. I think at the time it was like 120 for the labor. 2015 85D here also

Oh. Only 8,900 Euros for the manual to repair a battery! My dad is a TV repair man, he has an awesome tool kit. I think I can fix it.

The frustration is that I waited 2 weeks BEFORE the appointment and after the quote for them to source parts. For a company that is so driven by tech - wouldn't it make sense to alert me when the parts are ready so I can bring it in for the .1 weeks? Lol. All good. But seriously....

No loaner, no Uber credit, not even an offer of a banana seat bike ride home. Drop the car, say sayonnara, hope for the best. At this point - I hope I see my car again one day lol. Take my money, please!

Just to clarify... I am the OP and the only owner of the car. I did not buy it second hand.

Just to update the thread.... My car is still at the SC. Today is 2 weeks. They estimate it will be done in 1 more week. 3 weeks for a battery replacement? I am rolling with the punches here.... But cant say that most people would. I will update when completed.

I will update the thread. But it won't be today. As we all know, part of the fun of the Tesla service experience is dropping off your car with a 2 week estimate to do a 4 hour job. It has been there a week, and I dont expect it back for another week.

Tesla's problem is not the reality. Tesla's problem is the perception. Conspiracy theories grow in the dark. In this case, it is very easy for masses of people to think there is something sinister going on. These kinds of perceptions are battled on the corporate / consumer level every day...

Sorry about that. I confused you with the poster above who did ask. I see now it wasn't you. That is a very good question. I am not sure what it is worth. But I would assume it is worth more to Tesla than anyone else. And I think in every case any car in this situation should be worth more...

OK. Thats great. Glad to hear that. But you are cherry picking my overall post. You asked what they could do, and addressed one line of one option. What about the tidal wave of issues with Tesla not offering fair trade in values for these cars? Could that not be considered ripping me off...

Here are some suggestions: 1. Address the issue. Have a uniform education and options process so that people who encounter this are not presented misinformation about options and what is happening, so that when you get this error and you are not a forum person - or want to do endless research...

I didn't mean to imply that I am making a wise financial decision by buying a new battery. In fact, it is just flat out dumb (financially) to put 19k in to a car that is maybe worth 30k on the other side. For me, there is more in this than than the $ - and stupidity of wanting to keep the car...

Just to update the thread.... I have ordered a new door latch actuator assembly PN 6008913-00-C . I am fairly certain this is the problem, as the old one is whining and trying to move the latch but cant. I will update the thread in case anyone is using it for future purposes over the weekend...

I will. I have to dig it out (again) and dont have the energy tonight. I will do it in the AM. I am beginning to think it is the latch itself. It makes the noise like it is trying to unlatch, but doesnt. Going to research that line of troubleshooting.

Gaswalla - I get it. I have replaced 6 door handles so far - so I was just trying to become more familiar with them through trial and error - but mostly error! I scheduled with a mobile ranger. Soonest appt is 7 days away - so I figure I will do anything I can in the meantime. You are right...

Thanks. I have read every thread that I could find. Most of them are fixed with the microswitch. The monster 13 page thread doesnt have a fix for what I have. I really have tried and done my homework on this - this is not covered by anything I have seen on this forum or anywhere else.

Driver door handle presents, but doesnt open. I ordered the microswitch assembly (2 microswitch and wire assembly) and did the repair. Put is all back together, no luck. Window goes down slightly in prep to open door, makes noise when you pull the handle, but doesnt unlatch and open the door...

Have to disagree. Tesla is a public company driven by sales. They dont care "who is buying up their cars". They want sales and good press. They get both by allowing transfers of reservations. What is the upside of denying people transfers for Tesla?

I have experience that maybe doesn't closely relate to the original posters situation but.... I closed my garage on the hatch of my MS. Took it to the only Tesla authorized repair shop in my area - was quoted $1,850. Then took it to several high end repair shops that work on aluminum cars...

Seems like my earlier post isn't being read. They have a new part that does not have the plastic windows. It is what is being shipped on all new Teslas. They will put it on as part of warranty if you have condensation. This isn't a "fix", this is a totally new part that solves the problem.

Just take it in to service and have new part put on. The proverbial fix is in!
