    Redmond Seattle area electrician recommendation

Code for NEMA 14-15 outlets changed recently requiring GFCI. That raised the price of the breaker from $30 to $130. Wire is probably a little under $100. The permit is probably around $100. The outlet is probably close to $20-30. $600 for the whole project installed sounds reasonable. $900 and...

Anyone willing to rent me their tesla for a week?

Avis is walking distance from Disneyland and Universal studios. They don’t even charge extra for 1 way rentals within the LA region. While I love driving my Tesla, an ICE isn’t the end of the world or is it???

    Seattle SA Contact Info?

Make sure you pay with cashiers check and not wire transfer. Do nothing, eventually they will call you when they want to collect the money. Unfortunately your delivery experience is a sign of things to come when you need repairs done. 6 years ago the Tesla experience was magnificent, not so much...

Place to get alignment in the Seattle area

Les Schwab sent me to the Tesla Service Center. The Tesla Service Center told me my motor was about to die, replaced it under warranty, and did the alignment as part of a new motor. I can't complain about that trip.

    Tire store recommendation Seattle Eastside

Les Scwab in North Bend changed the tires on our Model S. They sent us to Tesla for alignment. Prices at Tesla for tires are not too bad either.

Washington to ban all new gas car sales in 2030

If this really happens, and you have a grandfathered ICE vehicle... I wonder how long until the gas infrastructure collapses??? Where do you buy gas in 2035?

Recommended NEMA 14-50 installer in the Snohomish area?

Materials are less than $100. The permit is going to cost about the same. Tell them you are installing a welder or RV hookup. Hide the Tesla when they come. Don’t mention anything about an EV.

SB 6586 - Do NOT let this happen!

I used to live in Misery/Missouri where the income tax was 6%, property tax was the same, sales tax was 9%, registration was the same. Everything here now seems free. If we can direct these fees/taxes to building out the charging infrastructure, I don't mind paying. Plus the cost of EVs is...

Increasingly Frustrated with Oregon Supercharger Situation

We have been driving the I-84 corridor in our Model S 60 for 6 years without problems (Only 200 mi range). The CHADEMO did save us once or twice though...

    Supercharger - Portland, OR

I prefer the downtown locations too. I'm happy to pay for parking if there is a ton of stuff todo. How is downtown Portland these days? We haven't been in a while. Looking forward to going back.

Washington SB 5444 - to impose a mileage tax on owners of electric and hybrid vehicles

Has anyone seen an accounting of where the current EV fees go in Washington State? I heard some or all of it was directed towards charging infrastructure build out??? Purely speculating this is why Washington has more Super Chargers than Oregon???

These width numbers are not apples to apples. You can't compare mirrors folded to no mirrors. The Model S numbers are with mirrors folded. The Cybertruck numbers (without mirrors) are the same as an F-150. Door size is another important factor. Our Model S is 4" wider than our XC 90. The XC...

I hope the spaces are generous for Cybertrucks. If they open a Service Center in Yakima, Cybertruck will be a popular vehicle in Yakima.

    MCU Failure Poll

6 weeks later and 96 hours in the shop, the memory was replaced. You lose all of your settings: No profiles. No home. No trips. No garage door openers. Wiped clean. Probably spent an hour getting everything back. We didn't have any problems between visits. The reflashing made things better.

    MCU Failure Poll

How long does the replacement daughter board take to order? Mine still has not shipped. Brought the car in with a black display. They reloaded the software, gave me the car back, and said to come back when the part is available. Lots of random behavior like parking sensors not making a sound.

    eMMC repair

My heat worked, turn signals did not work. Verified from outside the car. Changing lanes on 520 on the way to the service center was a little awkward with the carpool lane. They also deleted everything, working OK for now.

    eMMC repair

Anyone had their eMMC replaced recently? How did it go? My parts are on order. Curious how long it is taking for the replacement parts to come in? Does Tesla provide loaners or is it time to get a rental? The service center offered Uber coupons... not interested in riding in an Uber during a...

Seattle area -- New tires -- where to install?

I have had good luck with the North Bend location. It has a park and walking trails next door. They are great about fixing flats.

    Snoqualmie Pass

I have the AS695 AutoSock . Used it once or twice, they are still good. These will not last as long as chains. I consider the "ripped to shreds" a feature. It is better to have the AutoSock rip to shreds than to have the chains "rip your beautiful Tesla to shreds". They are way easier to get on...

    Snoqualmie Pass

I have an older RWD Tesla model S. I like the Tire Socks a lot better than chains. My experience is that the pass closes before AWD cars need chains. On our AWD gas guzzler I only use chains for driving around our neighborhood before the plows come through.

Alignment, balancing in Portland Area recommendations?

Les Schwab told me I needed alignment work, but they couldn't do it. So I took my Model S to the Service Center in Bellevue... They ended up replacing the motor under warranty and didn't charge for the alignment. I had no idea the motor needed replacement.

    Renton Service Center - Review

Meanwhile in Bellevue, they do the checkout drives across the 520 toll bridge. Not a big deal with a good to go pass, but if someone isn't registered with good to go and misses the mail notification, it could get very expensive.

Registration in Wa now more than insurance?

It was $150, there is a new $75 fee this year bringing the total to $225. My registration is about the same as last year due to the new $75 fee.

Supercharger - Seattle, WA - Union Street

I recently had CHADEMO issues as well. The SC updated the CHADEMO firmware and miraculously fixed my issue. They have a loaner adapter if you want to make sure it really is a problem with your adapter and not the car or charger.

    CHAdeMO Adapter Firmware Update Available

Has anyone had the firmware update fix their CHADEMO adapter? We recently got a "Unable to DC Fast Charge / Supercharge" after multiple tries at 2 different chargers. One of the chargers worked for us in the past and the other was a random new charger. The SC updated the CHADEMO firmware and...

Boise to Bend on U.S. hwy 20 now has CCS and CHAdeMO in Burns, OR

The main issue with CHADEMO and Superchargers is that you don't find out they don't work until you are over a hundred miles from home. There is no built in check within the car to warn you that they have stopped working. We normally charge at home. On one trip the supercharger was not working...

    Supercharger - North Bend, WA

What model of car? What is the SOC? Driving from Mercer Island to Snoqualmie and back to North Bend, I would expect about ~45 kW @ SOC of ~50% in my Model S 60 from 2015.

EV's are still not allowed to use HOV lanes in Washington, right?

You can pay to use the express lanes on 405 with good to go. Realistically though the carpool lanes are only slightly faster than general lanes. Maybe saves 5 minutes?

Park downtown and use the TriMet. TriMet gets you discounted admission. Hotel deLux is $18, the sign says Valet Only. When I asked 4 years ago, they said not to worry.

SB 6586 - Do NOT let this happen!

1110, is the clean fuels legislation. It doesn’t actual fund infrastructure or generate revenue for the state, it just requires us to find less carbon intensive fuel sources potentially raising the cost to source gasoline.Washington House passes clean-fuels legislation sought by Inslee

SB 6586 - Do NOT let this happen!

The light hybrids will get creamed by this. People will pay extra to not get the hybrid option. The new Dodge Ram is a perfect example. Paying 2 cents per mile for a modest increase in fuel economy doesn’t make economic sense. The tax is higher than the gas savings. The only way to do this is to...

    Seattle area RTA registration tax

It will probably take a year or two of mileage fees just to pay for the collection system and 50% in subsequent years will go to the collection company. I think sticking with the fee is the way to go. It should get reduced 50% every 5 years. Maybe different tiers based on size, weight, range, or...

    Supercharger - Burlington, WA

That is going to take at least a week or more to melt. Does anyone know how these stations are paired. If I remember correctly, the 4 on the right are sharing with the 4 on the left??? If so, not a huge deal.

    Supercharger - North Bend, WA

My S 60 has 65,000 miles is almost 5 and peaks around 75-85 kw at a low SOC. It lost about 25% of its peak super charging capacity from new. My max range new was 204, now it is 196. I now just don't charge as high knowing there is a backup further down the road. My main complaint is having to...

Supercharger - Vancouver, WA - NE Vancouver Mall Drive

There are two electric vehicle fees. $75 and $150. The $75 is new this year. The $150 was supposed to be for roads but I think it was diverted to charging.
