Blogger Claims Tesla's Battery Swap a Scam

Dear moderators, Users here routinely post links to their articles on Seeking Alpha, Clean Technica and so on. Hell, some even put the links in their signatures. My time is limited and I will not spend one more minute in a place that deletes my comments for reasons as trivial as these. See...

Blogger Claims Tesla's Battery Swap a Scam

Literally all of this has already been addressed, both in the comments section of my article and in the very comment you're answering to. You can add a bajillion Superchargers to the 2013Q4 estimate, if that helps you make your case. But then, the 2014Q4 and 2015Q1 estimates do not make any...

Blogger Claims Tesla's Battery Swap a Scam

Tesla simply said Superchargers, without specifying size. Of course, the $150,000 figure may have in fact referenced the hardware for a 1-plug, 90kW station in a company-owned service center, hence without land or permitting costs. (I'm kinda expecting that sort of explanation to surface).

Blogger Claims Tesla's Battery Swap a Scam

The net book value of Superchargers cannot include a significant portion from unfinished sites, as I explained in the comments section of the article. The numbers simply don't square. And in any case, to meet Elon's estimate of $150,000 per site, with the current net book value (already reduced...

'that have huge factual errors or material errors or omissions in their financial analysis' Happens to people who studied business too, including one Elon Musk with a Wharton degree. http://seekingalpha.com/article/3174266-turns-out-a-tesla-supercharger-costs-2-or-3-times-what-elon-musk-said

Blogger Claims Tesla's Battery Swap a Scam

As I told a journalist: I'm not short TSLA (or anything else - I don't own shares). Also, the only payment I receive related to my Tesla work is that from Seeking Alpha (about $300 a quarter). I've made contact with some people who are short but they haven't promised to pay me in case the swap...

Blogger Claims Tesla's Battery Swap a Scam

If Tesla had been transparent, honest and forthcoming in other aspects, well, at a minimum I'd have my doubts. But at this point there are too many cockroaches. Obviously we're not going to agree on this so it's perhaps better to let it go.

Blogger Claims Tesla's Battery Swap a Scam

Tesla registrations in California have been: 2012Q4: 1,113 2013Q1: 2,406 2013Q2: 2,308 2013Q3: 1,823 2013Q4: 1,793 Total: 9,443 Numbers from the PDF CNCDA publishes every quarter. The Model S became a Type V ZEV on October 12, 2012; almost all of the quarter's deliveries must have happened...

'Does anyone have actual experience with battery swapping? Or received the "invitation" to participate?' Careful, or they'll accuse you of spreading FUD.

Blogger Claims Tesla's Battery Swap a Scam

That there is no NDA is included in the Daily Kanban article I linked to; they talked to Reyes. That $100M is a conservative estimate, well, just look at Tesla's California sales in 2012 and 2013, assign 3 extra (swap-generated) credits per car and check how much the credits sell for. This...

Blogger Claims Tesla's Battery Swap a Scam

There is no NDA. Confirmed by Ricardo Reyes to Daily Kanban. Tesla Battery Swap Unused Over Busy Holiday Weekend - Daily Kanban By the way: the title uses a conservative estimate ($100M) of how much Tesla has made off the battery swap. It doesn't imply all ZEV credits are thanks to the swap...

Harris Ranch is getting first battery swap station

I'm puzzled by the fact that, out of hundreds of users, exactly one has talked online about the experience. Ricardo Reyes just confirmed there's no NDA. And yet, nobody seems to have done a swap, or received an invite. In fact, nobody *knows* anybody, online or off, who has received an invite -...

    Articles re Tesla—Fact or Fiction?

I must confess I'm puzzled by this thread. Some of you called my article poorly researched, but you don't actually refute anything. The only thing you 'refute' is my assertion that Tesla could make 500,000. In fact, I didn't say anything of the sort; I only said the factory is huge and used to...

    Lurking on Tesla Short/Bear Websites

Talk is cheap and discussions can get boring, so why don't we put money on the table? I'd bet $100 on each of these things. Before the end of 2015: -The vast majority of Superchargers still won't have solar panels. I know, I know, even if all of them had panels it would be irrelevant, but...
