[RESOLVED] Insuring Tesla...TD monnex won't :( where can I go?

Shop it! Belair direct, RBC and Scotia all would insure for me. Keep in mind, your postal code matters alot. When I was N2J, $950/yr with Belair. I switched to Scotia when I moved to M2N. Belair wanted $1700 and Scotia was $1500/yr

Disappointed to see 7.1 doesn't really fix with windshield wipers

In fairness, I have never been happy with rain sensing wipers in BMW or Mercedes either. I would be MUCH happier with a simple time delay. I coat my windshield with Glaco or some other windshield rain repellant and leave the wipers off 90% of the time.

    Dogs in a Model S??

I purchased a liner from US trunk liner. Gallery It was on the pricey side, but I travel with my Rottie and French bulldog everyday to work. It was the design I was looking for. Easy to install and remove, and easy to clean. It has the option of a rubber anti slip dog mat and a vinyl roll out...

Green Plates, HOV lanes and Hybrid issues

Saw a Porsche Panamera S E-Hybrid yesterday with a Green Plate. Thought to myself, cool, Porsche is in the electric car game now. When I got home, I researched and found out it had a 9.4 KW/H battery with 32km advertised range. While it is a plug in hybrid, it doesn't seem like it deserves a...

To Pano or Not To Pano?

I am not a sunroof or convertible guy, but after extensive reading and a test drive, I almost ordered the pano. After having a loaner for a week with a pano, I am very happy I went with a solid roof. 98% of my driving is 70-85 mph. I commute 2 hours a day. Rarely a rear seat passenger. The...

    Cracked windshield!

Just had mine replaced at Toronto Tesla. The new cars with the cameras cost more. I was originally quoted $1600 plus tax. Was told non camera cars are $1200. When I picked it up it was $1530 all in. Service said the cost of the windshield has just dropped. Think the part alone was $860, rest was...

    Model S for commuters?

I purchased a Model S because I felt it was the BEST commuter vehicle. I do a 162 mile RT commute 3-4 times a week. I wanted the quietest, most efficient, comfortable, driver assisted, safe, trouble free car I could get. This is it! Loving my stress free commute. The 17" touch screen is another...

    85D 4.3 0-60 time?

I think the only thing stopping the 85D from being sub 4 second 0-60 is software. I'm sure Tesla doesn't want to lose potential P customers to a less profitable model.

    Wire sizes?

The wire size you need to use from the breaker box to the HPWC is comp!etly dependent upon distance. There is a calculation for amp load x wire size x loss = diameter of conducter. The closer you are to the breaker box, the smaller wire you can use. 100F is not out of range for a breaker or cord.

    21" vs 19" Wheels on P85D?

I very much agree. Anything over a 19 is pure aesthetics. That being said, the 21" turbine is iconic and unique to the Model S. I have searched through all the aftermarket wheels and can't find any that look as good as the OEM 21" turbine.

P85D about to enter production - what have I done!

Every buyer has different motives. I think the OP will not be happy with a Tesla unless it is a P85D. Many P owners are trading in for the D. Why? They have a perfectly great car. Are they doing it for environmental reasons, no. Have they got money to burn, maybe. Is it for status, probably...

P85D about to enter production - what have I done!

Personally, I think you did the right thing. If you want a P85D, make the stretch and get one. You will always regret buying a lesser model IF you are eyeing the flagship. Nothing wrong with lower models, but you won't be happy with one. If the budget won't allow the P85D, I would shop for an...

Would you use battery heating if it were available?

Great suggestions and well written. Those of us trying to drive longer range in cold climates really need this.

Vendor What's your opinion on a P85D phone case?

Love the wallet style cases. I would definitely purchase one of those if it available for a Note 4

    Falling Canadian Dollar

Anyone thinking Tesla should be giving Canadians a discount because of our crappy dollar, THEY ALREADY ARE!! P85D with my chosen specs on Canadian order is $139,470 CDN. Exactly same spec on US order page is $121,970 USD. $121,970 USD on XE conversion today is $155,292 CDN. You are...

Changing back to Non Staggered Setup?

Wondering if any P85+ or P85D owners out there have or have considered switching from there current staggered setup (245/35/21 8.5J front 265/35/21 9J rear) to a square setup (245/35/21 8.5J all around)? Benefit would be the ability to rotate tires. Cons are smaller tires on rear. Seems like...
