Since I'm going to a service center to pick up the car, maybe it's different now? But the wording from the rep in the text was "You will be able to inspect the vehicle before accepting delivery in your app." Not sure how that lines up with your experience. ./shrug

Very likely. The implication was that it was because of where the car was going, but I wasn't sure how universal that was or wasn't.

I was told via text that they wouldn't ship my car (to OK) until payment had been made. I responded that I had intended to withhold payment until I inspected the car, and they replied that I accept or reject in the app as its own step.

Fair warning that when I switched from white to black back on 23 Feb I very obviously lost my 'place in line,' as many people who ordered after I did on 10 January got their LR black models well before I even got a VIN. Some folks in here have gotten VINs almost immediately after switching, but...

It's not. You get it later when they turn it on. You'll know for sure in a few days I guess.

The cars don't have FSD enabled yet, so there's no way to do the demo. Same with Cybertruck.

I get you, and you're not wrong. OTOH, I feel like a company capable of 48v low-voltage power in a commercialized vehicle, fast factory construction, FSD 12.x, remarkable efficiency numbers, etc, could maybe be a wee bit better at forecasting deliveries accurately.

Good to know I'm not the only one with a 1/10 date with the same spec (blue instead of white) with no VIN or anything. Super frustrating. Won't be doing this pre-order dance with Tesla again, that's for sure.

I've seen lots of folks with white interiors not getting VINs, but it seems like SR and a lot of LR models have gone out. Thanks for the reply. :)
