Hi Yes that would be me If you get the Installer to Add Solar (Even if you dont have it) that will overcome the backup only bug straight away. Our installer swore blind it would sort itself, and it didnt when they came back to install for our neighbour they admitted they had the same porblem...

Tesla sorted it. Installer had set it up as backup only

I just have now its working ok (And filed my £350 rebate request with Tesla at the same time) ;-)

Yeah we only booked with them Wednesday and they installed Saturday, Bonus was no advance payment till satisified with job.

Yeah maybe its karma, I cancelled my original install to go with one which was £1000 cheaper!!!

Just an update. Contacted Tesla who advised it had been installed and setup in backup only mode so they reconfigured it online, all now sorted and working as expected. Thanks for all the comments..

Well installer popped back response was, its Tesla it does what it wants, it wont discharge if it does not want to, cant force it. May take several weeks to learn and sort itself out. (Real kick the can down the road response). When asked why it was stuggling to reconnect to the grid when...

Thanks, yes we were told it may take 38 hours to be able to switch to Time Operation But they also said during that first period it would be in self consumption mode so would discharge to run the house as needed, ours just charged to 100% and went to standby and does not discharge at any...

Yeah will chase up with the installer tomorrow. Hopefully get it solved before the Christmas shutdown.

Yes although I have just checked the setup page on the setup app and the unit seems to be stuck in backup only mode. Which would explain it. And I have no way of getting it out of that mode

Don’t have a car so that’s a non starter. It’s set correct in the utility plan page

Yeah it just won’t discharge. Only way to get it to discharge is to force it into off grid mode then it powers the house perfectly. But once back in on grid it just powers the battery back to 100% then goes into standby and does no discharging

Yes mine are set the same but my app does not have the buttons for self powered or time based on it it’s all just blank

Yeah I am manually running it down now I dropped it into off grid mode as it is the only way to get the thing to start discharging Seems to be powering everything well in that mode but just a pain we have to go off grid to get it to do any sort of discharge

It’s at 0% and I don’t have the time based control option in my settings

Yes I have seen those and the threads all. Relate to issues with car charging and octopus This is not my issue my issue is the Powerwall battery will not discharge power to the house it’s just sat full at 100%. Nothing to do with charging the car
