Beta testing the Tesla channel for Numerous

You're absolutely right--and frankly I can understand why anyone would be reluctant to give anyone this info. But we've got a long public track record (here's my LinkedIn profile: https://www.linkedin.com/in/charliewood) so you should at least be confident I'm not some scam artist. FWIW we don't...

Beta testing the Tesla channel for Numerous

Yes, you do. Since Tesla doesn't yet provide any way for 3rd-party apps to talk to its API without (at least) a Bearer token, we first ask for your email and password, then generate a bearer token and use that to talk to Tesla on your behalf. Obviously this is far from ideal. I very much hope...

Adaptive Cruise Control (experience post FW v6.1)

I used TACC on a ~370-mile journey this past weekend and it worked almost flawlessly. (The only "flaw" was when Speed Assist failed to read a speed limit sign in heavy rain.) I've never used an active cruise control system before so I have nothing to compare it to, but in absolute terms it was...

    The Tesla Rationale

This is a repost of The Tesla Rationale from my personal blog, Skipping Steps. I've always wanted an Audi R8, but I just bought a Tesla. Here's why. I've wanted an R8 ever since they came out. And when they introduced the V10 version I wanted one even more. The R8 is the German answer to...

First P85D adopters stuck in black hole

First P85D adopters stuck in black hole

Well, my dashboard still says "In Production" but I talked to my DS last night and he said it's in final inspections. It won't be delivered before I leave town for the holidays so it looks like I'll be flying home for a day to pick it up.

First P85D adopters stuck in black hole

Tesla has had my $130k since 12/4, but I'm still in the black hole. They will clearly miss the promised delivery date (before my holiday travels) but still no communication from my DS. I'm a huge Tesla fan, but at this point I'm pretty disappointed.
