I have had my car since January of 2015 and have not had to replace the windshield - I guess I am lucky. Is your car sitting outside or in a garage - mine is in an unheated garage so it doesn't get too cold.

Until Tesla SCs were opened up to third party vehicles it made sense to have brand agnostic chargers, but that is now much less the case.

Isn't there an issue about the amount of power going into the ONRoute sites. Some of them are in fairly remote locations and may not be able to support a dozen or more SCs. That was mentioned by a former active user on this site who worked for one of the electrical utilities.

Kingston isn't cumbersome at all. Gan is cumbersome. Kingston is very close to the highway, I have used it many times, especially the newer site on the south side by the Panera. And within easy walking distance you have Panera, Pita Pit, McDs, DQ, A&W, Wendys, Arby's, Boston Pizza, Starbucks...

The downside is that other than the DQ there aren't a lot of food options. With Kingston, if you don't mind walking 200 metres or so you have a ton of fast food options.

That probably depends on Hydro One or whoever the local utility is as that is often the bottleneck.

Tesla is in the business of making money. Hwy 11 through Northern Ontario doesn't get a ton of traffic and if you really need to go from North Bay to Nipigon then you can take the Hwy through the Soo and have Supercharging along the way. The ROI on that route is going to be pretty low. The...

Agreed, I was hoping that they would move the Brockville site to Prescott. But they have other sites very close together - Port Hope and Coburg, Belleville and Trenton, Kingston ang Gan. Those are all about the same distance apart as Prescott and Brockville.

Chatham is too far off the highway, but somewhere southeast of Chatham just off the highway makes sense. But there isn't much in terms of food services around those exits.

Are you sure the address is correct? That looks like a Dairy Queen logo between two chargers. The Dairy Queen appears to be south of the 401, the address given (2399 Parkdale) is north of the 401. I think the correct address is more like 125 Stewart Blvd - approximately the NE Corner of...

They are in some areas, but not in others. Southwestern Ontario once you get past Woodstock is pretty lacking with only London, Windsor and Comber along the 401. And the 401 E of Gan is also pretty slim, although less so once this site goes ahead, plus Brockville, assuming that happens.

But you could easily serve both routes with a SC at Prescott, or as close as possible to the 416/401 interchange.

Brockville has been on the Coming Soon map since 2018. I hope it happens but this is the longest that I have seen in my 9 years of owning a Tesla. And Prescott would be a better location for folks going to/from the US from Ottawa and crossing over at the Seaway-Skyway bridge.

Dumb location - this should be in Prescott! Then you get Ottawa-Toronto drivers. This location doesn't work so well if you are taking the 416 to Ottawa, or going from Ottawa to the US.

When you look at the Tesla SC map SW Ontario is pretty low in terms of SCs with only Woodstock, London and Comber. Compare that to the area between Port Hope and Kingston where you have 7 sites.

Ok, that makes sense. I didn't know about the cable length issue. Are there still V1 and V2 SCs or were they all retrofit to be at least V3.

Doesn't this only apply to non-Tesla EVs? Do you care that much if it is V3 or V4 if you are driving a Tesla?
