Mercedes EQS Sedan: Rival to Tesla Model S

I wish the production design was closer to the concept vehicle's exterior, but otherwise the EQS seems like a pretty solid choice for an EV. Our family has had great experiences with MB vehicles in the past and we will take a close look at this one once it's out and about.

I was just telling my wife how great the new Cross Turismo looks, too. Really tempting... You should do it!

Worth trading in MS for a MX?

We've had our X now for a little bit of time, now approaching 63k miles and with lots of road trips and tons of daily usage under our belt. I still love driving our X and it's my preferred daily driver. And the X remains a very practical car for our family; last spring, I loaded 22 large bags...

Did last sw update break bluetooth?

Posting a quick update on my end. All is fixed with great service from my local mobile service team. There was something wrong with the bluetooth function on my individual car, but the professional plugged into the system, erased the past entries there, and did a reflash (? sorry, I'm not very...

Worth trading in MS for a MX?

We have both in our family and I am happy to share our experience to help in your choice. I think the S is more attractive and definitely way more fun to drive. And space-wise (as you already know), it can actually hold quite a bit of stuff if you lay the back seats down. We’ve loved our S...

    Tire replacement time.

I just replaced my tires with Pirelli Scorpion Verde AS II and thus far the ride is nice and road noise seems lower, but the handling doesn’t seem quite as stable at higher speed and the energy consumed with these tires is higher than what I had with the OEM Continentals. I drive fast, but...

    2016 Model X vs 2018 Model S

I have both and would recommend you towards the newer Model S for your family as your wife just picked up a new X7. If your other car wasn’t a larger SUV, I would instead suggest the Model X as it’s a terrific daily commuter, is very fast for its type of vehicle, is useful in tons of ways, and...

    Should I Copy My Wife.....

Congrats! I'm sure you'll love it. I really love our X and I tried to convince my wife to change our older Tesla for a new X for her to enjoy also, but she's not into having two of the same. So still looking.....

    X: What's your 90%?

Some minor fluctuation +1/-1, but pretty consistent at 264 at 90% with nearly 40k miles now. 2017 100D. Lots of road trips and occasional supercharging, but 99% of charging from home.

Just picked up Model X today, has defects

When I originally picked up my car, I was unable to get the auto presenting door to work either during my inspection of the vehicle while they processed my paperwork. Potential long term owner....need advice

I've owned and driven our Tesla cars (S and X) now for the past six years and do quite a bit of miles annually. Our model S now has more than 135,000 miles and is going strong and our model X has 35,000 miles and is perfect. Because of my high mileage driving, I used to buy a new car every...

Poll- Res holders, would you have made the deposit if $1000?

I would have continued to order as we have done. Our first Tesla required a $5000 deposit and later with the second, I think it was $1000 (don't remember exactly). But I think the low $100 reservation deposit means maybe half of the total reservations thus far may not convert to actual...

Tesla design is so much more than EV

Very well said! When walking away, I still look back at our Model S and think "what a handsome car!" and we love our Model X. In my eyes, Tesla design has always had very clean surfacing and generally good proportions. The new Cybertrck design is aggressively modern, which I appreciate, and...

    Poll. Model Y vs Cybertrk

My wife and I had intentions to buy a Model Y for our daughter to drive when it became available; it's design doesn't do much for me, but we have loved our Tesla ownership experiences and wanted to do something electric. But after seeing the Cybertruck, we've decided to order the truck and are...

This truck design had better be a joke....

I like how different it looks... and might buy. My wife is interested in the Rivian SUV and we have been planning to replace her vehicle with it when it eventually becomes available, but this thing is just so futuristic and offers a lot of value.

    Nose-cone Wave

It was definitely a smaller community of enthusiasts back then and I used to wave every time and receive smiles and waves back in my neck of the woods. There are many, many more Teslas driving around my area now and I stopped waving after getting some ugly looks back to me. Ha... my daughter...

New to Tesla...Is it really that bad?

Six years and two Teslas for our family and we've had really terrific experiences with our service centers here in Dallas and Plano. Our very positive ownership experience is the primary reason I've given our friends to buy their own Tesla cars (referring maybe 5 or 6 new owners now). I'm not...

    Rear bumper scratched

I think your Tesla center might refer you to a certified Tesla body shop that can repaint your rear bumper. You might try Dr. Colorchip. It won't be absolutely perfect, but it may be livable for you. I've had great results with paint chips and such in the past with their product.

    5 seat cargo cover

I bought the same weathertech mats for my 5 seater and love them. In my case, I carry a small lightweight blanket folded up in the back and place this over the folded-flat second seat row when I am carrying things. Works great for me and may be a good solution for you.

    positive thread regarding Tesla Service

I have an S and an X and I don't think you will regret buying your Model X. I've loved the driving and ownership experience of both cars and would definitely purchase an X again if needed. I agree with what other friendly forum members have said: most posts you read will be of concerns or...

Freak road event: Stick speared my bumper

Wow, I'm glad you were okay and it didn't do more damage. I had a similarly strange incident last year with a landscaping truck dropping a pitchfork on the road and the car in front of me ran over it, kicked it up, and shot it into the front end of my car. Surprisingly, my damage was minimal...

4 year old Model S: what does the future hold?

I have a similar car: 2014 S60 model but with 83k miles now almost four years later. I've had 3 door handles replaced, and drivetrain and battery replaced. All were under warranty except for one door handle. I've never kept a car this long before, but still find myself excited every morning...

Anyone NOT have a Sun/Glass roof? And...?

Solid roof here. Almost every car I've had prior had sunroofs and I never opened them and generally kept the shade closed. So when buying my Model S, I thought I would forego it this time around and have no regrets.

Current S & X OWNERS: What is your favorite currently available exterior color and WHY?

I had always driven darker colors (blue, black, dark grey), but with my model S decided to try something different and chose pearl white. I love it, it doesn't look dirty so quickly, and in the right lighting shows off the great design lines of the car. Thumbs up from me.

    What's your 90%?

My 90% had decreased to 163 rated miles at the time and I was worried about it. Some time after my original battery wouldn't fully charge to 100%. I sent an email to Tesla ([email protected] back then, not sure now) and discussed the battery concern with my local service center, and...

Motor Trend H2H Tesla SP100D vs. Audi RS7

I share the same perspective as calisnow. I think our Model S is the best daily driver available and cannot imagine going back to ICE for 99% of driving, but still love classic cars and some newer sports/super cars for their attributes. Different tools, different purposes.

Advice on Selling S60 after 9 months

Your viewpoint seems well thought out and it may make the most sense to sell it, even at a loss, to preserve future cash flow. Do you not anticipate driving more in the future? If not, I think you're right and may be happier selling it.

Question for car guys/gals, why did you dump your ICE vehicle for a Tesla?

    Tesla moments

I had a funny moment last week. My annual state safety inspection was due and as I had a poor experience at the local car wash/oil change place near me last year, I thought to ask the new Mercedes-Benz dealership (not far from my home and my wife owns a MB) if they would perform the state...

Reasons I like my "classic" nose cone

I like the new look, but prefer our "classic" front end. I think the original design looks more sporty and aggressive, whereas the new design has a more luxury sedan look. Not bad at all, but I like the slightly more aggressive look to our classic design. Also, try as I might, I cannot seem...
