Feeling misinformed on my CPO order (substantive previous damage) -- what should I do?

I'm glad it all worked out. I was one of the critics of your methods and reaction, but I sincerely wish you the best of luck with the new reservation and hope that you will enjoy the car. Now begins a couple of difficult weeks waiting for the car :-)

Feeling misinformed on my CPO order (substantive previous damage) -- what should I do?

This is getting more and more interesting and a little out of proportion, isn't it? This Tesla CPO used-car model is a new sales model where the CPO specialist is not going to know the exact condition of every car - as opposed to going to dealer and looking at used cars on their lot. You find...

Feeling misinformed on my CPO order (substantive previous damage) -- what should I do?

Buy your original choice unless you consider the issues too many and severe. In that case, find another one and remember to consider yourself lucky enough to be able to purchase a car like this. Grey sounds good to me. PS And you are right: prices might go up or they might go down.

How to calculate Range Loss %

The calculation in the examples above calculates how efficient your driving is compared to what the car uses to calculate rated range - but IMHO that is not what I would describe or define as the car's "range loss". When I hear "range loss", I think of how much range I have lost due to battery...

My CPO Buying and Delivery Experience

Update on my experience: Tesla Fremont called today because they had seen my survey answers that I filled in after having had the car for a few days (where I had commented on the not-stellar interior condition). They immediately offered that I could get a free detailing next time I take it in...

My CPO Buying and Delivery Experience

Late November I pulled the trigger on a 2014 S85 from the CPO list. I worked directly with one of the CPO specialists in Fremont since I am located in the Bay Area and I quickly identified a vehicle that fit my needs and was pretty close to my ideal spec list. The price was reasonable and...

    Lets see your garage!

Marty - that looks stunning. I'm a few miles away and I'm wondering what your garage floor is made of? Is it sheet vinyl? Any specific brand? I'm building a new house in Santa Rosa and am trying to get that "indoor" feel in the garage...

    Grandfather Free Supercharging Please

Note that my CPO sales rep confirmed for me in writing that the CPO cars sold after 1/1/17 will NOT have free supercharging enabled. I think Max* is right - I would not be surprised if Tesla interprets the language very literally. It would be interesting to find out if it applies to private...

Does the limited FREE supercharging apply to used cars?

You may be right - I am curious what others have heard from Tesla. My comment is based on correspondence with the Tesla "North West Pre-Owned Advisor". As I indicated who knows if she is 100% truthful or not, but my decision was not to gamble on her just trying to push a quick sale. I guess time...

Does the limited FREE supercharging apply to used cars?

FWIW I just ordered a CPO and asked my Tesla CPO specialist about how they will apply the supercharging rules on CPO vehicles and she confirmed that CPO cars will be treated as new cars: You have to order prior to 1/1/17 and take delivery prior to April 2017. I asked her if that was her...

Unusual interview with Elon - lots of personal questions - very honest answers

Completely agree - it showed a new side that I have rarely seen. I actually thought we wouldn't do well with questions like that given some of his other interviews, but this showed a very human and relaxed side of him. Very cool and "likeable". He seemed comfortable and like he was genuinely...

    Bjørn's Tesla Model S videos

Hi Bjorn - Thanks for the video! Quick question for you: I think I have noticed that you drive two different set of wheels - and I am interested in the ones that seem to have some sort of aerodynamic "disc" on them - do you notice any difference in range/consumption between the two sets. I know...

If you do not mind, Please post your trade in offer from Tesla so we can compare note

Just finished reading through the offers so far - and my initial conclusion is that as long as Tesla is supply-constrained in terms of volume, the CPO program will be almost non-existing. All of you (I just ordered one, so cannot consider myself an owner quite yet) who are selling will get an...

    Bjørn's Tesla Model S videos

I will also add that I love to count if you say "Oh, Yeaaaaaahhhhhh" more times than you say "S********" in your videos. :-) Thanks, lars

Elon, please don't give up on us.

Completely agree with the OP. And let's agree that no one "lost $30k overnight..." because new models were released. You paid what you paid for your car, it's still sitting in your garage and you will only take a loss if you decide to sell - your choice. And btw - that's true for any car...

    1st World Problems?

I agree with your statements - mostly. I think that part of why the group is reacting this way is due to the personal monetary impact and secondarily due to the fact that we are not used to seeing car-evolution like this in this industry. I could be wrong, but my opinion of the legacy car brands...

P85D Interior only available in black? Tan option no longer available :(

Patn - in case you read this. Could you post a picture of your color combo? I was test driving this week-end with the wife and she decided (that's not my decision) on silver/gray because she was afraid the tan interior would clash with the silver exterior. Thanks, Lars

    Hello from Austin

Welcome to the forum - your comments about becoming an EV-evangelist resonate so much with me. I took a lease of a Fiat 500e about 10 months ago and sold my Porsche. My friends were teasing me about being the only person on the planet who would trade in a Porsche for a Fiat, but I have to say, I...

    Bjørn's Tesla Model S videos

Hi Bjorn, Great videos - are you planning on posting a review of the new features of 6.0? I am one of the many Tesla fans that have used your videos as a great way to educate myself on Tesla - almost ready to put in an order for an 85D. Thanks, Lars

    2014 Tesla Model S (60 kWh)

Sorry guys - why don't we let Mike set his price as he wishes. If you are interested in the car, but feel the price is too high, then contact him and negotiate. If you are not interested in his car, then don't bother with helping him price it. Just my two cents. Thanks, Lars

    Are Parking Sensors now standard?

Thanks guys - I'll put an order in for an 85D with the Tech Package - thanks for the help. Regards, Lars

    Are Parking Sensors now standard?

Just looked through the design center. It says that the sensors are standard now, and since the option of "Parking Sensors" (which I think was a $500 option on top of the tech package) is not available as a standalone option anymore. Do you think I need to add the Tech Package to get parking...

How many are going to delay their orders after seeing the live Event?

I was going to place an order for a regular 85 this weekend, but I just checked the website and have decided to order the 85D instead and wait for delivery in Feb/March. The extra range of 295 miles on the 85D is fantastic!

New Tesla fan from Novato, CA

Hi there, I have been lurking on the forum for months and finally decided to join officially. Thank you all for the massive amounts of information - it has been really useful. I jumped on the EV bandwagon in 2013 with a Fiat 500e lease and now it is time to swap out the other vehicle in the...
