Is this only for 3/Y or do they have it for S/X as well?

New AutoPilot is horrible after update

Has anyone else refused to update? I know a few years ago there was a way to freeze your car and opt out of all future updates. Does Tesla still do that if you ask? Before the update hit I capped the car at 1kbps via my router, so when parked at home it will not be able to download the...

Tesla recalls 2 million vehicles to limit use of Autopilot

I don't think anyone is questioning the usefulness of nags. Current AP will do that, no? This change is about punitively punishing drivers deemed "unsafe" by an already error-prone system in a real world environment, by removing features of their cars that they paid for. Hard pass

Tesla recalls 2 million vehicles to limit use of Autopilot

I'm trying allowing it to stay on wifi, but limiting the speed via router to 2kbps. This way it doesn't fail over to LTE (at least while parked).

LFP Battery Pack for Old Model S Cars

Curious if anyone else has heard anything related to this. Hope my battery lasts many more years but I really hope someone makes the smaller LFP battery. Supercharging would be fast again and the longevity would be quite good.

    Supercharger - San Marcos, CA (LIVE 17 Aug 2021, 20 V3 stalls)

I stop at this spot often. Wednesday I stopped by and there was new fencing going up directly on the other side of all of the cabinets. Looks like an expansion is under construction. I kind of wish they would put it somewhere else. Maybe around North City. The traffic getting into this...

    Power Steering falling apart

I explored this, the problem is the belt is likely shredded as well. From my understanding replacing the belt is probably more work than replacing the whole rack.

    Power Steering falling apart

I'm not, nor can anyone be 100% sure my issue was caused by the recall or recall service, but no one can also be 100% sure it was not caused by the recall or recall service - considering the recall was on a bolt that holds the part on. I don't know if the shims were installed as that other...

    Power Steering falling apart

2014 S 85 Power steering failed last week along with warning that steering assist may be reduced. Drove it home and then to SC. The steering would sometimes kick back in for a bit then out. But on the drive to the SC it didn't kick back in at all. SC says it needs a whole new Steering rack...

    set of 4 model s 19 OEM wheels + tires + tpms $400

    Tire/Rim swap and TPMS

I have a 2014 Model S, that had the original basic rims. I recently bought a set of take-offs from a 2018 (possibly 2017) P100D with new tires on them. I had a shop just swap them out, and the car gave no TPMS errors. However 2 days later now it says to contact Tesla service due to a TPMS...

Supercharger - Burbank, CA - North Third Street (LIVE 14 Sep 2017, 20 V2 stalls)

Covering the charging area with solar isn't going to have much effect. Maybe covering 20 stalls will generate enough power per day to charge ~5 cars, on a sunny day. Now if they got permission to cover the whole parking structure roof.... But I think what he meant is they would build a big...

Supercharger - Barstow (EXPANDED, 5 stalls added, now 16 total)

The problem is, there's no easy way to show if people are waiting. I guess they could do some sort of check of the cars in proximity to the charger and if they see more than are charging they could assume there is a wait. And what would happen with a scenario like monday where one of the...

Supercharger - Barstow (EXPANDED, 5 stalls added, now 16 total)

I was there on mon during the whole line fiasco (took me about 3 hours of waiting and 1 of charging), and most people there were families and were saying how they are not going to be taking the Tesla on road trips anymore. Early adopters don't mind occasional issues, but once you pack up your...

At 7:30 pm on thurs evening, I pulled up and got the last spot. Another car pulled up a couple minutes later and had to wait about 15 min to get a spot. When I left there were 2 open spots. I imagine during peak driving times the next few days it is going to be quite bad as well. They really...

Car not turning off when exiting the vehicle

I've been having the same issue for quite awhile. Got an appointment to take it in tomorrow. Will ask about seat sensor. I've found it will happen in clusters. So it will happen almost every time I get out of the car for a day or two, then nothing for a few weeks. It happened before V8 and...

Supercharger - Temecula, CA (Winchester Rd., LIVE 10 May 2016, 10 V2 stalls)

Just stopped by tonight for dinner. Was still all covered up and spaces were roped off. FYI this location is going to be TERRIBLE for ICE'ing on weekends. When I went today (sunday) at 6pm every spot in the area around the chargers was taken. We can only hope the parking rules are...

Supercharger - Temecula, CA (Winchester Rd., LIVE 10 May 2016, 10 V2 stalls)

Awesome! I had guessed they would put one in the mall here because it's really the only place that probably won't get ICE'd. On the weekends though this parking structure can get very crowded. I haven't been up to the 3rd floor though. I live about 10ish minutes away from here so I can...

    Short-Term TSLA Price Movements - 2016

Nice job. Glad I got long some 150 calls (although I sold some during the pop earlier today). I think we will see a short squeeze tomorrow. Most people were predicting a LNKD type reaction - and shorted every share they could find. I would say 165-180 range tomorrow and 200 by Feb opex...

Moderate Power Tesla DC Charger Product Proposal

I don't think this makes much sense when you can get dual charges and 20kw for a much more reasonable price. Perhaps something like a 40-50kw charger for businesses since that would be a noticeable step up over 20kw. But home panels probably won't work very well with more than 20kw. The...

    Q3 2015 Report & Conference Call

I wonder if because tesla has such high brand loyalty (most people who own one would buy another) and because of the expense of repairs (the are totalled very easily) autopilot is actually going to lose the company money by preventing minor but expensive accidents that would have resulted in a...

    Decreasing rated range.

I have a 2014 85 with 39k miles. My 90% charge has been sitting right around 224 miles. This seems on the low side. Is this low enough to bring it up to Tesla about a warranty repair due to rather quick loss? I see most others with 224 range have 2012 cars...

Drive Unit failure symptoms and thresholds for replacement

I've had the milling/saw noise for a few months now. I would say mine is louder than those videos. Took it in about 2 months ago they said it needs to be replaced but part is on backorder. I call every few weeks and "still on back order" no ETA. Getting very frustrated. I've been putting...

a new "whine" sound that wasn't there before... help?

Same here. I didn't report it at first, because it wasn't that bad. Reported it to sc about 8 weeks ago and still no replacement (part is on order). It has gotten quite loud now to the point where I can hear it at freeway speeds (and with freeway noise) if I really listen for it. Someone was...

    Supercharger - Fountain Valley (LIVE 28 Aug 2015, Expanded 27 Oct 2017, 16 stalls)

I was here around 3pm today. It was full, someone pulled out of 1A and indicated it wasn't charging very fast. Plugged in and was doing about 200 amps probably due to sharing. I also drove by san juan earlier in the day not to charge but on the way somewhere and there were 6 or 7 cars charging.

[Resolved] My P85 has developed the milling noise and Tesla won't fix it.

Oh I'm sure they will fix it. With all the new cares with 2 du's this is going to be affecting a lot of cars. Mine has gotten pretty loud. I took it by the SC about a month ago they confirmed it was the milling noise and ordered a replacement DU. Haven't heard anything, so I called them...

Tesla is not publishing service bulletins, keeping them "secret" (per NHSTA complaint

I think Tesla does not want any bad publicity. The fires were very damaging PR wise - especially in the early years when things were very tight. They have learned that due to it being a hot new brand, anything potentially bad about Tesla gets picked up by the national media. They do not want...

    Supercharging letter from Tesla 8-13-2015

Tesla doesn't want clear limits set. If you say, no regular local supercharging, then they're going to alienate buyers who live in apartments/condos. If you say go for it, supercharge as much as you want, then you're going to have people charging every day, clogging the chargers. They will...

    Maintenance Service Fee

$600 is ridiculous. I really don't care that they replace brakes/rotors. Charge me $100-150 for a "service inspection" that includes tire rotation and washer fluid topoff and a wash. Then either bill me for anything that needs to be fixed, or fix it under the warranty.

Autopilot lane keeping still not available over 6 months after delivery

Once they release it, people are going to use it - everywhere. And invariably people are going to be paying less attention. Going back to spending hours in the car paying attention to staying in your lane would be worse than MS owners going back to driving an ICE. Why do you think all other...

Are the goodyear Eagle RS-A2 tires really that bad???

Anyone know how good the eagle rs-a2's are compared to the Sumitomo HTR A/S P02? A local shop is offering $550 installed for either one. I'm leaning towards the sumitomo since it is W instead of V speed rating and 45k mileage warranty

Supercharger - San Diego, CA (Qualcomm / Pacific Heights Blvd., 12 V2 stalls)

Supercharger - San Diego, CA (Qualcomm / Pacific Heights Blvd., 12 V2 stalls)

interesting. It looks to be a bit to the northwest so that would lead me to believe it's along the 15 somewhere (which is perfect - cover the 5 and 15 and you've got everyone going north/south) I'd guess probably in the carmel mountain rd area or possibly westfield north county.

Feature request to not charge from "shore power" with TOU rates

I'd also like to see a stop charging time option instead of having to manually adjust the charge % to keep it within the midnight-6am window (single charger). It's not that often but it does happen.

San Diego Area Superchargers (location speculation)

No way they only do 8 spots. This is probably going to be at least 16.

    Supercharger - Cabazon, CA (16 V2 stalls)

Yea the current EV charging spots are painted like this. Although they are MUCH closer to the shopping as well. I think where these spots are located, the problem is not going to be ICE'ing but tesla owners leaving their car plugged in for a few hours while shopping - it is a long walk back.
